00:00Grand Jury Indicts Comey for Lying to Congress
00:03Oh, how the mighty self-righteous have fallen!
00:06Not just for jaywalking or forgetting to file his taxes,
00:09no indicted by a federal grand jury for giving false statements
00:12and obstructing a congressional proceeding.
00:15This was under oath in front of Congress,
00:18tied to arguably the most weaponized political narrative in modern American history.
00:22Russia, Russia, Russia.
00:24He helped light that match.
00:26The match is burning him.
00:27After years of smug media tours and endless lectures about ethics,
00:32Comey now finds himself the first former senior administration official
00:35indicted for his role in the Trump-Russia investigation.
00:39Trump says,
00:40Comey is a bad person.
00:42He's a sick person.
00:43He did terrible things at the FBI.
00:45He also establishes that he does not know what will happen
00:48and that everything is being handled by the DOJ.
00:52Donald Trump must appear distanced, but don't expect a humble apology.
00:55Comey's response to the indictment wasn't shock or even a whiff of contrition.
01:01My heart is broken for the Department of Justice.
01:05Even more absurd, yes, it gets worse.
01:07This is the same man who posted a cryptic photo back in May
01:10with seashells arranged into the numbers 86-47.
01:14For those blissfully unaware, 86 is known in some circles as code for kill,
01:19and 47 just happens to be the number Donald Trump would be if re-elected president.
01:25He's been on a scorched-earth crusade against the Republican Party
01:28going so far as to call it white supremacist adjacent on MSNBC.
01:32Because nothing says I'm innocent like blanket labeling half the country as racists
01:37while standing trial for lying under oath.
01:39On Truth Social, he called Comey
01:41one of the worst human beings this country has ever been exposed to.
01:45After watching years of smug TV hits, weaponized leaks, politically convenient missteps,
01:52and now the alleged criminal obstruction of Congress,
01:55the man might have a point.
01:57You won't believe who agrees with Trump about Comey, although not for the same reason.
02:02Wow.
02:03The View co-host Joy Behar agrees with Trump's DOJ's decision to go after James Comey
02:08because of what he did to Hillary Clinton before the 2016 presidential election.
02:14FBI Director Cash Patel, in a blistering follow-up statement,
02:17made it clear this isn't just about one man.
02:20For far too long, he said,
02:22previous corrupt leadership and their enablers weaponized federal law enforcement.
02:27It was an assault on democracy.
02:29Tick-tock.
02:30Because if this indictment is just the beginning,
02:33and it sure feels like it,
02:34then James Comey might soon have some very high-profile company.
02:38Tick-tock.
