00:00Scarborough warns GOP celebrating Comey indictment.
00:04MSNBC host Joe Scarborough is warning Republicans to not dance on someone's grave because
00:09what goes around comes around.
00:12Scarborough issued the warning on Friday's Morning Joe episode.
00:16It follows the federal indictment of former FBI director James Comey Thursday, per The Hill.
00:21Republicans must understand that what goes around comes around, Scarborough said.
00:25They must understand that if there's a billionaire independent who decides to be president of
00:31the United States, gets elected, and then decides to start going after Republicans.
00:36But as they say, turnabout is fair play.
00:40This means anyone who is anti-Trump or his allies could target Republican senators, Republican
00:45House members, Republican judges, and Republican political operatives if elected president,
00:51Scarborough said.
00:51All that independent will have to do is just pick up the phone, call his or her attorney
00:56general, and say, arrest Republican Senator A, arrest Republican political opponent B,
01:01he added.
01:02Comey was indicted in connection with testimony he gave before the Senate in 2020 as it probed
01:07investigations into ties Donald Trump's 2016 campaign had with Russia.
01:13Trump has dismissed Russiagate as a hoax.
01:15He has also attacked Comey and others in federal law enforcement who he said were out to get him.
01:20In a social media post, Comey said he is not afraid of the charges he faces.
01:26He added, his heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in
01:30the federal judicial system.
01:32Trump posted on Truth Social that Comey was a bad cop.
01:36Democrats have argued that a conviction is unlikely.
