00:00Sarah Ferguson braces for humiliation with title on the line.
00:04Judgment Day is near for Sarah Ferguson, who recently made headlines when an old sympathetic
00:08email she wrote to the late Jeffrey Epstein went public. The Duchess of York is bracing
00:13for the City of York Council to take away her official title when they meet in November.
00:18Leader of the council Claire Douglas said the group will meet in the coming months to
00:22decide on Sarah Ferguson, after previously stripping Prince Andrew of his official title
00:27due to ties with Jeffrey Epstein. A full council meeting of all City of York
00:32councillors next takes place in November, she said. Consideration will be given in advance of
00:37that meeting to whether a motion to remove the honorary freedom title from the Duchess of York
00:41is tabled. The honorary freedom title conferred on the Duke of York was removed in 2022.
00:48We deplore the links and continued associations with Jeffrey Epstein by those carrying the York
00:52title beyond the time the gravity of his crimes became clear. In 2011, Sarah Ferguson sent Jeffrey
00:59Epstein an email apologizing to him for slamming him in the press over his crimes.
01:04I know you feel hellaciously let down by me, and I must humbly apologize to you and your heart for
01:08that. The mother of two wrote,
01:10You have always been a steadfast, generous, and supreme friend to me and my family.
01:15I am apologizing to you today for not replying to your email or reaching out to you.
01:19I was bedridden with fear. I was paralyzed. When the correspondence between Sarah Ferguson
01:24and Jeffrey Epstein leaked to the public, the Duchess of York's representative released a
01:29statement defending her. The Duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Jeffrey Epstein
01:34many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims, the rep said.
01:39Like many people, she was taken in by his lies. As soon as she was aware of the extent of the
01:44allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly,
01:49to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with
01:53abusing children. She does not resile from anything she said then. This email was sent in the context
01:59of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats. Although Sarah Ferguson's
02:05standing with the firm is still up in the air, King Charles III and Prince William have reportedly
02:09taken action against Prince Andrew over his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein. The King finally
02:15bowed to his son's demands over his disastrous attempts to rehabilitate his corrupt brother Prince
02:20Andrew and agreed to ban Prince Andrew from all further public-facing family events. Royal journalist
02:25Tom Sykes claimed,
