00:00Sarah Ferguson's greed and wastefulness contributed to her downfall.
00:04Sarah Ferguson's frivolous spending is allegedly catching up with her,
00:08now that she's been forced out of Royal Lodge.
00:11In Andrew Lowney's book, entitled Rise and Fall of the House of York,
00:15a former staffer claimed Sarah Ferguson wasn't mindful of her resources.
00:20It was greed and wastefulness that contributed to the Duchess's financial downfall, they alleged.
00:25Every night she demands a whole side of beef, a leg of lamb, and a chicken,
00:28which are laid out on the dining room table like a medieval banquet.
00:32It's a feast that would make Henry VIII proud.
00:35According to Andrew Lowney, Sarah Ferguson would throw away money by missing flights
00:39and packing suitcases with unnecessary items.
00:42She would arrive with 25 cases and pay between £800 and £4,000 in excess baggage, the author wrote.
00:49Adding how she brought multiple trunks solely for clothes hangers,
00:52Sarah Ferguson also allegedly requested personal trainers, hairdressers, and Pilates instructors,
00:57who were paid hundreds of pounds an hour to wait for her to emerge for the day in the late afternoon.
01:03Reality set in for Sarah Ferguson when she and her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor,
01:08were stripped of their titles and forced to vacate Royal Lodge over their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
01:14I've always thought her downfall was her hopeless grasp of money,
01:17combined with her desire to have more and more of it, royal expert Jenny Bond said.
01:21She allowed her debts to spiral on a level few of us would understand.
01:26Sarah Ferguson also reportedly lost money on her investment property when she sold it for £3.85 million
01:32after snapping it up for £4.25 million three years prior.
01:38She wasn't looking to sell it.
01:40She was asked by the tenant to buy it, and it seemed like a good time to sell.
01:43Her representative James Henderson told GB News,
01:46It's an investment property for her girls, and so the monies will be reinvested accordingly.
