00:13Paul Burrell, who previously worked as Princess Diana's butler,
00:17revealed the code word Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson used for men within the royal fold.
00:22They would discuss the dour men in gray suits within the royal household,
00:26nicknamed the enemy within.
00:28Burrell wrote in his latest book,
00:30Royal Insider.
00:31Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson had a close friendship,
00:34but things shifted once the Duchess of York published her memoir, My Story.
00:39Diana, having been in the royal family for five years,
00:42was able to offer Sarah some sage advice on the do's and don'ts,
00:46whom she could trust,
00:47and a rather lengthy list of those with whom she should be cautious,
00:50Paul Burrell claimed.
00:52It was tragic that the relationship between them disintegrated
00:54after the publication of Sarah's autobiography, My Story,
00:58in 1996.
01:00Once Sarah Ferguson signed a publishing deal with Simon & Schuster,
01:03there were rumors she would help secure Princess Diana's memoir with the publisher.

01:10in which the Duchess of York describes herself and her experiences as they were.
01:15Rather than as they have been portrayed,
01:16Michael Korda, who was the editor-in-chief, said at the time,

01:25Author Andrew Lowney alleged in entitled,

01:30that the publisher was willing to pay Sarah Ferguson more money
01:33if she could convince Princess Diana to write a book.
01:36The die idea just grew out of the discussion.
01:39We explained we would expect Fergie to deliver an account of her close friendship with Diana,
01:44Lowney said.
01:44She then said maybe she could get Diana to write her own story for us.
