00:40She was born on a distant farm and her parents have never been married.

01:34communications and performing arts.
01:36In 1976, Oprah co-hosted her first talk show, People Are Talking.

01:47In January 1984, she moved to Chicago to host a half-hour morning program.

03:48Although one of the wealthiest women in America and the highest paid entertainer in the world,
03:52Oprah Winfrey has made generous contributions to charitable organizations and institutions,
03:57such as Morehouse College, the Harold Washington Library, the United Negro College Fund and
04:03Tennessee State University.
04:05Oprah Winfrey is an inspirational icon of nowadays and is best known for her multi-award winning
04:11talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, the highest rated program of its kind in history that made
04:17her one of the most influential women in the world.
04:20Oprah Winfrey has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the greatest
04:25black philanthropist in American history, and was for a time the world's only black billionaire.
04:31All of the above are amazing achievements from a person who was born into poverty and was
04:36faced with many challenges and difficulties.
04:39Winfrey is named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
04:45She teaches us that no matter how much of a challenging start that we have in life, it has no bearing
04:51on how we finish.
