The Importance of Diamond Color in Pricing!
Transcript
00:00Let's take a closer look at each of these characteristics and how they affect the price
00:04of diamonds. Color. Color is arguably the most important factor in determining the price of a
00:10diamond. The traditional idea is that diamonds should be as colorless as possible. That's because
00:16the ideal diamond doesn't contain any impurities. Impurities can affect the brilliance and fire of a
00:21diamond. They also reduce its hardness and durability. However, fancy colored diamonds
00:27can also be quite valuable. Yellow, blue, pink, orange, green, and red diamonds are all rare and
00:34command very high prices. Clarity. Clarity refers to the purity of the diamond. Diamonds can contain
00:41internal flaws called inclusions or external flaws called blemishes. Inclusions can sometimes be seen
00:48with the naked eye, but often they're only visible under a microscope.
