00:00A new poll shows Democratic candidate Zoran Mamdani holds a commanding lead in the New York City mayoral race.
00:07But former Governor Andrew Cuomo could make things interesting if the election comes down to two candidates.
00:17The poll from the New York Times and Siena College surveyed more than 1,200 New Yorkers.
00:23The poll showed 46 percent of likely voters supported Mamdani.
00:28That's followed by Cuomo, Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa, and current mayor Eric Adams.
00:35When asked to decide only between Mamdani and Cuomo, the numbers get closer with 48 percent supporting Mamdani and 44 percent supporting Cuomo.
00:45Voters also made clear their top issues, crime and safety, cost of living, and housing and rent prices made up 72 percent of the votes when asked what they think the most important problem facing the city is today.
01:00The poll comes as a group of wealthy real estate developers and businessmen came together to support Cuomo.
01:07Mamdani has gotten the endorsements of fellow politicians like Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
01:16The election is set for Tuesday, November 4th.
