00:00In today's Media Miss Minute, President Trump wants the death penalty for the man accused of stabbing a woman to death on a North Carolina train.
00:08And his Commerce Secretary takes a swipe at Elon Musk's Doge plan, saying he did it backward.
00:17I'm Craig DeGrali, and welcome to Media Miss Minute, where we highlight two stories ignored or downplayed by partisan media outlets.
00:26Let's start with one being missed by left-leaning outlets.
00:30President Donald Trump is demanding the death penalty for DeCarlos Brown Jr., who was caught on CCTV footage killing 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Irina Zarutska on a train in Charlotte last month.
00:43In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Brown an animal and said he should be given a quick trial and only awarded the death penalty, adding, quote, there can be no other option.
00:54Now to a story that's so far not been reported by any right-leaning news outlets.
01:00Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick says former Chair Elon Musk's plan for running the Department of Government Deficiency, or Doge, was, quote, backward.
01:09I thought Elon got caught up in other people's objectives.
01:15In an interview on The Axios Show, Lutnick said Musk should have focused on cutting government fraud, waste, and abuse before firing thousands of workers.
