00:00But there's another thing about electric vehicles, which is just that they make the
00:03air cleaner and healthier for all of us. This is the original 2021 video submitted by
00:09Democratic candidate Katie Porter for the Biden administration. She's now running to replace
00:14term limited Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom in California. This week, a cut portion of that
00:20video was obtained by Politico. Get out of my shot. Porter, a leading Democratic
00:29contender in California's 2026 governor race, is facing scrutiny after the clip surfaced showing
00:34her snapping at a staffer while filming for the Biden administration. The moment is trending this
00:40week, and it coincides with another tense exchange, this time on CBS News, where Porter threatened to
00:46walk off set. I don't want to keep doing this. I'm going to call it. Thank you.
00:52You're not going to do the interview with us? Nope, not like this. I'm not. Not with seven
00:56follow-ups to every single question you ask. Every other candidate has answered our follow-ups.
01:00I don't care. I don't care. I want to have a pleasant, positive conversation.
01:04These incidents are reviving questions about Porter's temper and treatment of staff,
01:08allegations she's faced before during her time in Congress and in DeForest's filings.
01:14Porter defends herself, saying she holds herself and her staff to high standards and has worked to
01:19be more expressive in her gratitude. She entered politics after the 2016 election, winning a House
01:25seat in 2018 and becoming the first Democrat to represent her district in 75 years. A new poll
01:31of 1,000 likely primary voters shows Porter leading among Democrats with 24.8 percent. But when
01:38campaign messaging is tested, Republican commentator Steve Hilton jumps ahead with 29 percent of the
01:44support, while Porter drops to 23 percent. Nearly a quarter of voters remain undecided.
01:50California uses a jungle primary system, where all candidates, regardless of party,
01:55run on one ballot. The top two move on to the general election. The primary is set for June
02:002026, with the general election on November 3. Read the full story right now on the Straight
