00:00Hey Mets fans, David Stearns is out here dealing, adding another arm to the bullpen.

00:06Tyler Rodgers from the Giants, he's pitched well this season, 53 games, sub 2 ERA, 1.80

00:13on the season, submarine right-handed, the Mets needed to get another right-handed arm

00:17in the pen, and David Stearns goes out and gets it.

00:20So, I like this fit because the Mets pen just got it stronger.

00:24We knew they needed to get stronger, David Stearns has addressed that part of the team,

00:28which is a weakness. We'll see what else he can do before the deadline on Thursday.

00:32But, when you talk about this trade, a lot of the talk is going to be about what the Mets gave up.

00:38And look, I'm going to keep it a buck. The Mets, it's a pretty steep price what they gave up.

00:43Jose Butto going out, young arm out of the pen that a lot of Mets fans really liked.

00:47I liked what he did out the pen. Then they gave up two prospects,

00:51Blade Tidwell and Drew Gilbert, both ranked the 10th and 12th prospects in the organization.

00:56I know some of y'all out there are prospect huggers. You want to keep all the prospects,

01:00you can't do that. The Mets are going to have to give up some prospects at some point.

01:03Do I think this was a bit much? Yes, but for me, it's not really about the prospects.

01:08I would have liked it better if they didn't have to give up a major league arm that was ready

01:11in Jose Butto, if they could have kept him in the pen. I probably would have liked that.

01:15The prospects are whatever to me. I think the Mets were selling high on Drew Gilbert and Blade Tidwell,

01:20who projects more as a relief guy out of the pen. But look, this is a move that Stearns had to make.

01:26A lot of y'all wanted to say, what is Stearns going to do? Don't want him to be small market Stearns.

01:30Well, he didn't do it. He went and got two pretty good relievers and an arm that's pitching extremely

01:35well this season. And you're hoping that he can pitch well for you down the stretch,

01:38another 20 to 25 innings or so down the stretch. If he can give you that,

01:42that would be fantastic for the Mets. So all in all, I think this is a good deal.

01:46It's a little bit pricey, but you got to go for it. And the Mets are trying to go for it.

01:50And I like that from David Stearns. Now the clock is ticking to see what else he will do

01:54before the deadline. So we'll see. We'll keep you posted on that.
