00:00Is Howard Stern retiring or not? Well, if you ask his bosses, they're all aboard the Howard train.
00:06The rumors swirled all summer long, including one shocking report from the Daily Mail claiming
00:11that it was all a desperate hoax from the Howard Stern show itself to seem relevant again.
00:17But this week, the president of SiriusXM, Scott Greenstein, had nothing but good things to say
00:21about his star. At a Bank of America conference, he called the 71-year-old radio legend
00:27the best interviewer out there, period, bar none, and credited him for being a lightning rod
00:33for the satellite radio cause. As for those nasty retirement claims, Scott said negotiation talks
00:39are nothing new. We've been pretty lucky all these years. We'd love them to stay. It certainly has to
00:45make sense, but we feel pretty good that we've done this before and we'll see where it goes.
00:50SiriusXM CEO Jennifer Witts agreed, saying Stern has been core to their platform for over 20 years
00:56and she's confident they'll get to the right place. The shock jock's current deal is up in the fall,
01:02reportedly a five-year contract valued at $100 million per year. Adding to the tension,
01:07Sirius's newest star, Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, landed a mega deal worth $125 million.
01:14A source told the U.S. Sun that there's no way Sirius can keep paying Howard's salary
01:19and warned it could all go down like Stephen Colbert and CBS. The late show is ending in 2026.
01:25Howard was supposed to address the chatter on the air on the Tuesday after Labor Day,
01:30but canceled last minute due to a family emergency. Although just days before,
01:35he was seen rocking out at the Metallica show in the Hamptons.
01:39It'll all come to light when the Howard Stern show finally returns from summer hiatus
01:43on Monday, September 8th.
01:55All right.
