00:00Have you got what it takes to make it all the way to our final question and join the 1% Club?
00:15Anyone has a chance to win because this quiz isn't about how much you know,
00:18it's about how your brain really works,
00:20as all our questions are about logic and common sense.
00:23So who will make it to the end and answer a question only 1% of the country can get right
00:26and win up to £100,000?
00:30Let's play the 1% Club!
00:36And hoping to win tonight our 100 players!
00:39Hello!
00:41Right, give us a cheer if you've got no doubt that you're taking home the big money tonight.
00:48Lady at the top though, what's your name?
00:49Hello, Charlotte.
00:50Hello, Charlotte.
00:51Why are you so confident?
00:52Well, my dad said that I'm not allowed to come home if I don't win the £100,000,
00:56so I've kind of got to win, otherwise I'm stuck here.
00:58Right, will he get you on a technicality?
01:00If you win 97, is he still going to chuck you out?
01:02I don't know, I think we'll have to wait and see.
01:04Do you live at home?
01:05Well, I go to uni in Bournemouth, but I've come home recently.
01:08OK, and he wants you to stay at home, obviously, he loves you.
01:12No, he wants me to go back to uni, he's fed up of me.
01:15Right.
01:16So I think that's why he's abandoning me.
01:18You do know this is a quiz show rather than some sort of therapy session.
01:21LAUGHTER
01:22OK.
01:23Good luck, everyone, and don't forget, you can play along at home if you want,
01:26all you have to do is download the app.
01:27OK, before we ask our first question, here's a reminder of how the show works.
01:31We asked a cross-section of people from all over Britain a list of our unique questions.
01:35Based on their answers, we can tell statistically what percentage of the country should get each
01:40one right.
01:41Tonight, I'll be asking those exact questions to our 100 contestants, beginning with the
01:47easier one that 90% of Britain got right, and ending with the most challenging question
01:51that only 1% of the great British public answered correctly.
01:54At the start of the show, every contestant is given a £1,000 stake.
01:59If they get any question wrong, they are out of the game, and the £1,000 is transferred
02:03to the 1% prize pot.
02:06Whoever gets the furthest in the quiz wins £10,000, and the chance to answer the final
02:111% question to win everything in the prize pot, and take home up to £100,000.
02:17APPLAUSE
02:20Right, let's get on with it, it's time for our first question.
02:24So this is one that 90% of our survey got right, let's see how you do.
02:31If you throw one dart at each of these boards, which four-letter word cannot be spelt out?
02:37The time starts now.
02:38Who uses four darts?
02:43OK, your time is up. Let's see who's like to stay on and are still in the game, and how many people are out.
02:58Right, we lost two people on that one, let's have a look at the answer.
03:13It's B, quiz. There's no Z in the last image.
03:28Unfortunately, if your lights are off, then you're out of the game, like Michael Spores.
03:32Yeah.
03:33Oh, Michael.
03:35Now, the people at home are wondering why we're laughing.
03:39I did say a quick hello to everyone before we started the show, and it was pointed out that you get told that you look like me.
03:45Well, four people today on the show, actually.
03:47So really, you've gone out first, and then there's that. You've had a doubly bad day, haven't you?
03:53I know, you're right, you're right.
03:55Never mind.
03:56What do you do, Michael?
03:57Well, I'm a screen extra sometimes, and I write little stories.
04:00And do you ever get any speaking parts?
04:02No.
04:03You're not allowed to speak, are you?
04:04Well, if you do, they have to pay you extra money, so...
04:07But you have to react?
04:08Yeah, or you might be sort of miming to somebody.
04:11Oh, I see.
04:12Like you're in a pub or something.
04:13So if we weren't allowed to hear you speak, how would you react to this if I said,
04:17unfortunately, you've just gone out on the 90% question?
04:23Wow.
04:24That hammy, yeah?
04:25Really that hammy.
04:26That was pretty good.
04:27I'm impressed.
04:28Michael, unlucky, but you're not on your own, Michael.
04:31One other person we lost, Ryan Morris.
04:33Sorry, Ryan.
04:34Nerves got the better of me.
04:35Nerves got the better.
04:36What happened?
04:37What did you put?
04:38Put show.
04:39Be honest.
04:40Are you pleased that someone else has also got out rather than you being the only one?
04:43Not really.
04:44Oh, OK.
04:45I'm trying to make you feel better and it's not working.
04:47Because I've told everyone at home that I'm on it today.
04:49Have you?
04:50And they all said the same thing.
04:51What?
04:52Just make sure, don't go out on the first.
04:53No.
04:54I proved them wrong.
04:55You didn't really prove them wrong, did you?
04:56I proved them wrong, sorry.
04:57I proved them right.
04:58You proved them right.
04:59I mean, you couldn't even get that right.
05:03Never mind, Ryan.
05:04Right.
05:05So, there are 98 people still left in the game.
05:07And the £1,000 of everyone who got the question wrong, but now goes into the prize pot.
05:11Let's see what it's done to the total.
05:14Right, we're on £2,000.
05:16It's a start.
05:17We're started.
05:18Right.
05:19Time for the 80% question.
05:21So, this is a question that 80% of people we asked managed to get right.
05:25See how you get on with this one.
05:28What winter sport is represented here?
05:31Time starts now.
05:37You're all looking excited.
05:38Give it a couple of rounds and we'll soon cure you of that.
05:41OK, your time is up.
05:58Let's see you got it right.
05:59So, we lost one of you.
06:13Let's have a look at the answer.
06:15It's ice hockey.
06:17Ice hockey.
06:18Someone who got it right is Jack Brett.
06:20Hello, Jack.
06:21Apart from being the lead singer of Pulp, what do you do for a living?
06:24I work in a fashion shop shop.
06:26Where's that?
06:27In Ball of Money in my hometown Northern Ireland.
06:30It's a flash in a pan.
06:31That's a great name for a chip shop.
06:32What would you do with the big money if you win?
06:34I'd probably spend it on my hobbies, which is basically Pokemon.
06:38Entirely that.
06:39Plushies, games, trading cards, all of that.
06:42Are you talking up to £100,000?
06:44Or you mean if you win £10,000?
06:46Yeah, well...
06:48Some of it gets a little bit pricey.
06:49What noise did you just make?
06:50Did you actually turn into a Pokemon mid-sentencer?
06:53That's the noise I make when I'm trying to say something.
06:56I think your voice might have just broken on national television.
06:59It does that a lot.
07:00I think he would buy a Pokemon!
07:03Listen, well done, Jack.
07:04You're still with us.
07:05Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
07:09We're on £3,000.
07:11OK, so there's 97 people still with us and we are on to the 70% question.
07:16Let's take good off.
07:17Barnaby was told he could have a certain number of chocolate biscuits.
07:24He took double that number but felt guilty and put one back.
07:28He then had nine.
07:29How many was he told he could have?
07:31The time starts now.
07:33Only put one back.
07:34Didn't feel that guilty, did he?
07:39OK, your time is up.
07:57Right, let's see who got it right.
07:59Right, we lost just three people though.
08:00Let's have a look at the answer.
08:01It's five.
08:02He took ten biscuits, double his allocation, put one back and still has nine.
08:06So, we've lost three of you including Darren Tinder.
08:09Sorry, Darren Trinder.
08:10Well, not Tinder, obviously.
08:11Yeah.
08:12Are you single?
08:13No.
08:14No.
08:15No.
08:16No.
08:17No.
08:18No.
08:19No.
08:20No.
08:21No.
08:22No.
08:23No.
08:24No.
08:25No.
08:26No.
08:27No.
08:28No.
08:29No.
08:30No.
08:31OK.
08:32Let's call it...
08:33I'll change it.
08:34I'll say it properly.
08:35One person who got it wrong was Darren Grindr.
08:37Sorry.
08:38One person who got it wrong is Darren Trinder.
08:41I've finally got it right.
08:42I wouldn't do very well on this quiz, would I?
08:44What did you put?
08:45I put nine.
08:46I don't know.
08:47I couldn't get my head around it.
08:48He couldn't.
08:49Yeah.
08:50I suppose he then had nine.
08:51How many was he told?
08:52Yeah.
08:53I suppose there is a nine in there.
08:54Yeah.
08:55I'm trying to help you.
08:56Yeah, it didn't work.
08:57Sorry.
08:58Darren, what do you do?
08:59Are you a competitive person?
09:01Very competitive.
09:02Any examples of that?
09:03Quite a few things.
09:04I was a driver of the year for the company I worked for.
09:07Were you?
09:08Yeah.
09:09That's good.
09:10Did you get a pay rise for it?
09:11I got £3,000 actually.
09:12That's good.
09:13And I went to Italy to race against the winners from the rest of the world.
09:17Sorry, in your HGV?
09:18No, no, no.
09:19We flew over there and then we were racing sprinter vans around Monza racetrack.
09:24The little white vans?
09:25Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:26Like a sprinter van.
09:27Yeah.
09:28What kind of speeds can you do in them?
09:2980 mile an hour.
09:30Is that safe?
09:31No, not really.
09:32And yet, funny, when those vans are delivering stuff to me, it seems to take three and a
09:37half weeks.
09:38Yeah, exactly.
09:39Unlucky Darren.
09:40Let's see what that's done to the prize putt.
09:42We're on £6,000.
09:45I should point out as well, you're obviously a clever bunch because at this point we've
09:52usually lost about 30 people and we've only lost six of you, so well done.
09:5694 clapping, the other six going, you all right mate, leave it out.
10:03It's time for the 60% question.
10:06Let's have a look.
10:10Which of these names fits into all the gaps below so that each sentence has five words
10:16that start with the same letter?
10:18OK, your time starts now.
10:48OK, your time is up.
10:51Let's see who got it right.
10:53Right.
11:20You know before when I said how well you were doing?
11:23I think that is the most amount of people we've ever had out on a round.
11:28You've gone from being one of the cleverest audience to losing the most amount of people
11:32in one round.
11:33We have lost 40 people.
11:35I mean, it was a one in three guess.
11:37I don't know how that's possible.
11:39Let's have a look at the answer.
11:41It's be Hannah.
11:43The first sentence has four words that start with H, so it needs Hannah to make it five.
11:47The other sentences already have five words beginning with the same letter.
11:51Right.
11:52Let's talk to everyone that went out, including Rebecca Fletcher.
11:57Hello.
11:58She's thinking, 40 and I get picked on, how does this work?
12:02Rebecca, what did you put?
12:04I put Bianca because I read, I counted all the words and didn't take into account the blank space that I needed to fill.
12:12OK.
12:13What do you do, Bianca?
12:14Rebecca, sorry.
12:15I wasn't rubbing it in, that was a genuine mistake.
12:18What do you do, Rebecca?
12:19I'm a dinner lady.
12:20And what do you do in your spare time?
12:22I've got three children and we've recently collected a load of tadpoles from my mum and dad's garden.
12:27OK.
12:28So we don't actually have a pond, so we have plastic tubs lined up in my garden full of tadpoles.
12:35How many?
12:36Between 50 and 100, possibly a few more.
12:39Wow.
12:40That's literally how many people almost went out.
12:42I know.
12:43Everybody could have one tadpole each.
12:45Everyone that went out gets a tadpole.
12:48Never mind, Rebecca.
12:49Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
12:54Wow.
12:55£46,000.
12:58Time for a quick break.
12:59We've lost 46 people here already.
13:01Hope you're doing OK at home and don't forget you can play along on the app.
13:04After the break, we'll be moving closer to seeing if anyone here can answer the 1% question.
13:08See you in a bit.
13:21Welcome back to the 1% Club.
13:22We started off with 100 people and now we are down to 54.
13:25The person who does best here tonight could be going home with up to £100,000.
13:29So, welcome to everyone who's still in the game and from now on we are going to give you the option to pay for a pass to the next question.
13:36And if you do, your £1,000 will be transferred to the prize pot.
13:40However, if you get as far as the 30% question without using your pass, you'll get the chance to take your £1,000 and leave the game.
13:47Right.
13:48We have got 54 people left in the show and it's time for the 50% question.
13:54Let's take a look.
13:56When the letters in the names of these capital cities are put into alphabetical order, which one has N as the fifth letter?
14:05Your time starts now.
14:07Have a great day for us now.
14:08.
14:37OK, your time is up.
14:39I sometimes look at these questions and ask,
14:41when would this ever come up in real life?
14:43LAUGHTER
14:45Right, let's see who got it right.

15:05MUSIC CONTINUES
15:08Right, we lost 13 people. Let's have a look at the answer.
15:11It is B, Dublin, and there is the N to prove it.
15:15So, we've lost 13 of you there, including Maddie Dawson.
15:18Where are you, Maddie? Here.
15:20Hey, Maddie, what did you put? I put A.
15:22You put A? Yeah.
15:24I don't know my alphabet. Oh, don't you? No.
15:27Why don't you use the pass? Because, in my head, I was like,
15:30right, you can't be that thick to get that wrong, so...
15:33Just before you say that, a few people went out, not just you,
15:36go for what you say.
15:37And now, yeah, I was just going to... I was saving it.
15:39I was saving it. You were saving it. You were being tactical.
15:41You wanted to use it later. Yeah.
15:43And I was... I spent ages going, L-O-N-M.
15:46Yeah, that's not the correct order of the letter.
15:48Yeah, I realise that now.
15:50You don't know the alphabet, do you? No.
15:51OK, Maddie, never mind. It hasn't worked out.
15:53And let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
15:55£65,000.
16:00OK, it's time for the 45% question.
16:05Let's take a look.
16:07Image one and image two below have been divided into four parts.
16:13Each part represents the letter in the same position in the word.
16:17Using this information, what five-letter fruit is being displayed in image three?
16:23The time starts now.
16:25MUSIC PLAYS
16:53OK, your time is up. Let's see whose lights are still on.
16:59MUSIC PLAYS
17:14OK, we've lost three people. Let's have a look at the answer.
17:17It's Peach. There it is.
17:20OK, someone who got that wrong is Josh Cook.
17:23Yeah, what did you put? I put Carrot.
17:26Carrot? Yeah.
17:28Josh, Carrot hasn't got five letters and he's shocking you he's not a fruit.
17:32Yeah, I wasn't too sure. It's like the last seconds, I thought,
17:35just put anything down. Yeah. I mean, your surname's Cook,
17:38but I don't think you do much, do you? No. Not anymore.
17:41Did you panic or did you genuinely think that Carrot was a fruit?
17:44No, no, I panicked. I didn't have a clue, to be fair.
17:46OK, fair enough, Josh. Let's see what that's done to the prize put.
17:49What?
17:52£71,000.
17:56Right, we lost three of you there. Six people passed,
17:58which means we have 38 players left in the game.
18:01It's time for the 40% question.
18:06Let's take a look.
18:08After pairing up as many matching pairs as you can,
18:11how many odd socks are left over?
18:14Time starts now.
18:16now.
18:17So
18:40Okay, your time is up.
18:49Let's see if you've got it right.
19:08Okay, we lost seven people.
19:09Let's have a look at the answer.
19:12It's three, and there they are.
19:14Somebody who used to pass is Stephanie Ross.
19:16You didn't know it, Stephanie.
19:18I thought it was three, and then I panicked and recounted.
19:22That extra blue salt was annoying, wasn't it?
19:23Yeah, so I passed.
19:24Okay, what do you do, Stephanie?
19:26I'm a student.
19:28And what do you do in your spare time?
19:29Well, when I'm in summer from uni, I get quite bored,
19:32so I like to teach myself the kind of educational songs,
19:36like the Kings and Queens song from Horrible Histories
19:39and the States of America and the Pediatric Table
19:42is what I'm learning this summer.
19:44Can you do it?
19:45So it goes hydrogen, then helium, then lithium, beryllium,
19:49boron carbon everywhere, nitrogen all through the air.
19:51There's oxygen so you can breathe,
19:52and fluorine for your pretty teeth.
19:54Neon to light up the signs, and sodium for salty times.
19:57Magnesium, then aluminium, silicon.
19:58Phosphor, rust, then sulphur, chlorine, and argon.
20:02That's very good.
20:03APPLAUSE
20:04I've just had a vision that the next question
20:09was going to be periodic table.
20:10Everyone's going to go, she's won it.
20:11She's absolutely won.
20:13Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
20:17£78,000.
20:20Right, let's move on to the 35% question.
20:24Okay, here it is.
20:26This ancient courtyard is square
20:30and has four columns on each side.
20:32How many columns are there in total?
20:35The time starts now.
20:36MUSIC PLAYS
20:56OK, your time is up.
21:08Let's see who got it right
21:09and how many people are out.
21:10MUSIC PLAYS
21:12OK, we've lost two people.
21:27Let's have a look at the answer.
21:29It's 12.
21:30There they are.
21:31We've lost Asha Patel.
21:32Where are you, Asha?
21:33Yeah, here.
21:34You sound mortified, Asha.
21:36I put 12 and then I changed to 13
21:38and then I panicked and I pressed confirm.
21:40You put 13?
21:41Yeah.
21:42That's not a number I was expecting to see.
21:44I know, because I double counted it as well.
21:46You didn't think that it must be probably an even number maybe?
21:49As a square?
21:49I don't know.
21:50No, listen, it's easy for me to say.
21:52I know the answers are down.
21:53Well, I don't, but they're written down here.
21:55Did you have plans for the cash?
21:57Well, I was just going to go towards my career,
21:59but last night my brother said, he was like,
22:01if you're on TV, I'll screenshot it,
22:03get a tattoo of it on his arm.
22:05And he was like, you can pay for it with the money.
22:08So it's kind of lucky I haven't won, but...
22:09Do you think he'll do it?
22:10I don't know.
22:11He might do.
22:12He might be.
22:12He seemed pretty confident.
22:13Yeah.
22:13It's just going to be your face going, I'll be...
22:16LAUGHTER
22:16OK, unlucky, Asha.
22:18Somebody got it right is Lewis Thomas.
22:20Where are you, Lewis?
22:21Yeah.
22:22Did you get that quite quickly?
22:23Yes, and then I spent a while recounting it
22:25just to make sure I'm not going crazy
22:27and I did get it correct.
22:28OK.
22:29What made you apply, Lewis?
22:30Well, we have a funny story.
22:32So I was always thinking of coming on the show,
22:34and then one day I was in McDonald's
22:36eating a Big Mac,
22:38and the show was on my mind,
22:39so I was like, Big Mac, Lee Mac,
22:40let's just go for it.
22:42OK.
22:42And then I just applied.
22:43Because of that?
22:44Pretty much.
22:45So if a little two-pence piece
22:47had fallen off, tipping point.
22:49Yeah.
22:49Yeah.
22:50That's what would have happened.
22:51Yeah.
22:51OK, listen, you're still with us, Lewis,
22:53so well done.
22:54Let's see what that's done
22:55to the prize pot.
22:59£81,000.
23:01Right, it's time for a quick break.
23:03Well done to everyone still in the game.
23:04We'll see you in a bit
23:05when someone here
23:05could win up to £100,000.
23:18Welcome back to the 1% Club.
23:20We've been asking questions
23:21which have been tested out
23:22on a cross-section of the British public,
23:23and we've been whittling down
23:24the contestants here tonight
23:25and are left with 29 people
23:28with their lights still on.
23:29As a reward,
23:30any contestant
23:31who hasn't played their pass
23:32and still has their £1,000
23:33now has a choice.
23:35Play on for the big money
23:36in the prize pot
23:36or you can take your £1,000
23:37and leave the game right now.
23:40First of all,
23:40let's see which players
23:41still have their £1,000.
23:42So, those of you
23:46with your lights on,
23:47you can take your money
23:47and leave the show
23:48if you want.
23:49So, please make your decision now.
23:50OK, two people have decided
24:06to take their money,
24:07including Amanda Brooks-Lam.
24:09Hello.
24:10You didn't fancy your chances?
24:11No.
24:12Was it always the plan?
24:14Yeah, but I got a bit lucky
24:15with the Hannah question.
24:16Did you?
24:17Was it a random guess?
24:18It's my wife's name.
24:19Oh, I see.
24:20But you didn't know it,
24:21you just went with that name
24:22because of your wife.
24:23No, yeah, I panicked
24:23and then it got a bit late
24:25so I was like...
24:26Just go with her name.
24:27Yeah.
24:27Oh, well done.
24:28What are you going to do
24:29with your £1,000?
24:30Probably buy some more trainers
24:31and some Lego.
24:33Lego?
24:33Yeah.
24:34How much Lego have you got?
24:35Probably about £3,000 worth.
24:37And what does your wife
24:37think of this Lego obsession?
24:39She's got on it now.
24:41She buys the flowers.
24:42She's got on it?
24:42You make that sound like heroin.
24:44Yeah, she's a bit upped
24:46on the Lego now.
24:46Yeah, I've got her on it.
24:47She started off
24:48in a little brick
24:48and then it just goes from there.
24:50It is an addiction.
24:50She's got out of hand now.
24:52She's got an old
24:52Star Wars figure.
24:54Well, listen,
24:55well done, Amanda.
24:55You've got £1,000.
24:57Congratulations.
24:59Right, so the rest of you
25:00have decided to play on.
25:01Let's see if that's a gamble
25:02that will pay off
25:03and if any of you
25:04can go all the way
25:05and join the 1% club.
25:06And remember,
25:07if you've still got
25:08your £1,000,
25:08you can pay for a pass
25:10to the next question.
25:11It's time
25:12for the 30% question.
25:16Let's take a look.
25:17Explorer
25:21Alabama Smith's map
25:23shows the three different ways
25:24to reach the hidden treasure.
25:26What is the fewest number
25:28of times
25:28he has to cross a river
25:29to get to the prize?
25:32Your 30 seconds
25:33starts now.
25:33We'll see you next time.
25:35We'll see you next time.
25:36We'll see you next time.
25:37OK, your time is up.
26:05Let's see
26:07who got it right.
26:08Right, none of you
26:23got that wrong.
26:23Let's have a look at the answer.
26:24It's five.
26:27The bottom route crosses the river
26:28five times,
26:28which is the fewer
26:29than the top route.
26:30And the middle route,
26:31somebody who got that right,
26:32is Jenny Bayliss.
26:33Did you get that quickly?
26:34Yeah, I thought it was
26:35too good to be true,
26:36to be fair.
26:37What do you do, Jenny?
26:38I have an online cocktail company.
26:40Do you?
26:41Yeah, we make cocktails
26:42and deliver them
26:42through the letterbox.
26:44Oh, doesn't it smash
26:45when it hits the ground?
26:47Special packaging.
26:49Ah, what's your favourite cocktail?
26:51It's actually pina colada,
26:52but we don't sell that.
26:53That is the worst bit
26:54of marketing I've ever heard.
26:56My favourite cocktail
26:57is pina colada,
26:58but we don't sell that.
26:59But if you like a pale ale,
27:01why don't you do pina colada?
27:02It's the cream.
27:03We wouldn't be able
27:03to, like,
27:04guarantee the freshness.
27:06Oh, OK.
27:06What's your biggest seller?
27:08Margarita.
27:09OK.
27:09I love a pizza.
27:11Listen, well done, Jenny.
27:13Let's see what that's done
27:14to the prize pot.
27:16Nothing, of course,
27:17because nobody got it wrong.
27:21We are at the 25% stage now.
27:25OK, here's the question.
27:29You need to put a number
27:30from one to six
27:31into each circle.
27:33But you can only use
27:34each number once.
27:35What number will replace
27:37the question mark?
27:39OK, your time starts now.
28:03OK, your time is up.
28:13Let's see who got it right.
28:14Right, we lost three people there.
28:32Let's have a look at the answer.
28:33It's three, it's one and two.
28:38Someone who got it right
28:39is Asya Kadri.
28:41Did you get that quite quickly?
28:42I think so,
28:43and then I kind of worked it out twice,
28:45so, yeah.
28:45OK, all right.
28:46And what do you do?
28:47I'm a software engineer,
28:48but I used to be a teacher.
28:50I used to teach secondary school maths,
28:52but I had to stop that
28:53because I kept getting confused
28:55for a year seven.
28:56They thought you were a child.
28:57Yeah, regularly.
28:59How old were you at the time?
29:01Like 24.
29:03You do look very young,
29:04I have to say.
29:05Do you think the school uniform
29:06didn't help?
29:09Do you usually do well
29:10at this at home?
29:11I can kind of get
29:12to the 1% question
29:13and then I bottle it,
29:14so that's probably
29:15what would happen today.
29:16OK, we'll keep an eye on you then.
29:18Don't forget,
29:19paper round tomorrow,
29:20so let's get this done
29:20as quickly as possible.
29:22Right, let's see
29:23what that's done
29:23to the prize pot.
29:27We're now up to £83,000.
29:31We've got 24 people
29:32screwing the game
29:33and are down to the 20% question now.
29:37Let's take a look.
29:40Which number crayon
29:41is two to the left
29:42of the one
29:43that's six to the right
29:45of the one
29:46that's three to the left
29:47of the one
29:48that's directly to the right
29:50of the crayon
29:51at number four.
29:53Your time starts now.
29:54MUSIC PLAYS
30:21OK, your time is up.
30:27Let's see who got it right.
30:28MUSIC PLAYS
30:29OK, we lost three people.
30:47Let's have a look at the answer.
30:47Six.
30:51So, somebody who got it right
30:52is Megan Hopkins.
30:54You've still got your pass.
30:55Yeah, I can't believe it.
30:57Are you feeling confident?
30:58No.
30:59Did you not think
30:59you were going to get this far?
31:00No.
31:01Really?
31:01What do you do?
31:02I work in market research.
31:04And have you got plans
31:05for the money when you win?
31:06I would like to go to New Zealand
31:07and watch my boyfriend
31:09do a bungee jump.
31:11With a rope or without one?
31:12LAUGHTER
31:13I'll let him off the rope.
31:15Let him off the rope.
31:16Yeah.
31:17Good luck tonight.
31:18Someone else who's got a pass
31:19is Thomas Murray.
31:20What are you going to do
31:21with the money?
31:22Probably take the kids away
31:23on holiday.
31:23Leave them there, yeah?
31:24Yeah.
31:25Good idea.
31:26Bring them back as well.
31:27Do you have any
31:28sort of plan
31:29to whether to take
31:30the ten grand
31:31at that point
31:31or would you gamble it?
31:32Do you know
31:33what you would do?
31:33Under instructions
31:34from my wife
31:35if there's more
31:36than two people
31:37along with me
31:39down on the floor
31:40go for it.
31:41If ever your wife
31:42said if there's
31:43more than two people
31:43down on the floor
31:44with you
31:44go for it
31:45I would say
31:46that you've got
31:46a very open relationship.
31:48The other final person
31:50with a pass
31:50is our Big Mac man
31:52Lewis Thomas.
31:52Well done Lewis.
31:53So well done
31:54for those of you still in
31:55and well done
31:55for those of you
31:56still got a pass.
31:57APPLAUSE
31:58Right let's see
32:00what that's done
32:01to the prize pot.
32:0194,000 pounds.
32:07Right we are getting
32:08close to the end
32:08it's now time
32:09for the 15% question.
32:13Let's take a look.
32:16Mina has one of each
32:18of the coins below.
32:19Using any combination
32:21of them
32:21what is the lowest
32:22amount of money
32:23she cannot make
32:25with the coins?
32:27Your 30 seconds
32:28starts now.
32:31OK your time is up.
33:00let's see
33:01whose lights
33:02are still on.
33:23Right we lost
33:2412 people
33:24on that one
33:25let's have a look
33:25at the answer.
33:27It's four pence
33:28you can make
33:28one p and two p
33:29using their respective
33:30coins and three p
33:31using one p plus two p
33:32but she cannot make
33:33four p.
33:34Somebody who got it
33:35right is Martin
33:36MacDonald.
33:37How are you?
33:38Um stressed.
33:40Welcome to the show.
33:42What do you do Martin?
33:44I'm a maths teacher.
33:45Well then that's
33:46handy for you.
33:47Well the stress
33:48is going out
33:49on a maths question
33:49isn't it?
33:50Yeah so you don't
33:51feel good when you
33:52get a maths question
33:52you feel there's
33:53more pressure.
33:54OK.
33:55What are you going
33:55to do with the money?
33:56Well I've got a great
33:57family so they'll
33:58probably have a bit
33:59we'll get together
34:00and have a celebration
34:01and I'll probably
34:02buy a dog for my
34:04brother.
34:04Does he want one?
34:05I think so.
34:06I would check on that
34:07before you give it to him.
34:08Don't be knocking on the
34:08door with a great day
34:09and then say surprise.
34:11Well done Martin
34:11you're still with us now.
34:12Mandy Steen also
34:14got it right.
34:14Where are you Mandy?
34:15Are you alright?
34:15I'm having a terrible time.
34:17Oh thanks.
34:19Well welcome to my house.
34:21Why are you having
34:22a terrible time?
34:22I was OK until
34:23the 60% question
34:24and just since then
34:25it's been.
34:25Did you not think
34:26you were going to
34:26get this far?
34:27I think sometimes
34:27I do really well
34:28and sometimes I do
34:29terribly and I just
34:30didn't want to come
34:31on the telly
34:31and embarrass myself.
34:32You would definitely
34:33not embarrass yourself
34:34if you were going
34:34to reach the 10%
34:35question.
34:35Well thank you.
34:36So how can you
34:37be still stressed?
34:38I don't know
34:38I just am.
34:40Really?
34:40Yeah so we could
34:41just cut this whole.
34:42Don't apply for
34:42television programs.
34:43I know I don't know
34:44why I did this to
34:45myself.
34:45I brought this on
34:46myself.
34:46So you thought
34:47you'd just apply
34:48but as long as
34:48you're not featured.
34:52And here you are
34:53down to the last few
34:54down to the 10%
34:55and I'm just
34:56talking to you.
34:57Is it horrific?
34:58It's pretty bad.
34:59OK fair enough.
35:00All right well listen
35:01Mandy well done
35:02because only one person
35:03in the room has got
35:04a pass and that is
35:05Megan Hopkins.
35:06Well done Megan.
35:10You're doing well
35:11Megan.
35:13Right let's see
35:14what that's done
35:14to the prize pot.
35:19£97,000.
35:21We are down
35:22to our last
35:22nine players.
35:23After the break
35:24we'll find out
35:24which of our
35:25remaining contestants
35:26could go on
35:26to play the 1%
35:27question.
35:28See you in a bit.
35:40Welcome back
35:40to the 1% club.
35:41We are very nearly
35:42at the point
35:42where we will
35:43discover who
35:43our winner will be.
35:44Now here's how
35:45the end of the game
35:46works.
35:46Whoever does
35:47the best here
35:47tonight will win
35:48£10,000
35:48but if they're
35:50feeling brave
35:50they can risk
35:51their £10,000
35:51by trying to
35:52answer the 1%
35:53question.
35:54Get it right
35:54they will win
35:55everything in the
35:56prize pot
35:56which is currently
35:57sitting at
35:58£97,000.
36:03And remember
36:04Megan
36:04because you still
36:06have your £1,000
36:06you can pay for a
36:08pass but you can't
36:09use it on the
36:091% question.
36:10But if you've still
36:11got it at the
36:121% question
36:12then you get to
36:13keep that £1,000
36:14no matter what
36:15happens.
36:16It's now time
36:17for the 10%
36:18question.
36:21Here it is.
36:24Larry the llama
36:25always tells lies.
36:27He's hiding behind
36:28one of ten locked
36:29doors numbered
36:301-10.
36:32Behind which
36:32numbered door
36:33is Larry hiding?
36:35The time starts
36:36now.
36:37The time starts
36:38in the car
36:41The time starts
36:42and you can see
36:44the kind of
36:45organic
36:56stay on PRX.
36:58ada
36:59the kit
37:03Okay, your time is up. Let's see who got it right.
37:29Right, we lost just two people on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
37:31It's seven. Larry always tells lies, so we have to take the opposite of what he is saying.
37:36Somebody who got it right is a great name. I love this name. Ace Doody.
37:41What do you do? I'm going to say First World War fighter pilot.
37:44Exactly. I'm Ace Doody!
37:45And in my spare time, I'm a student of psychology and linguistics.
37:49Okay. And did you think you were going to do this well?
37:52I don't want to jinx it. But you did.
37:54Statistically, I tend to get to this point and then it gets a bit wary.
37:58Yeah, yeah. Anybody waiting to find out how you'll get on today?
38:01Yeah, my brother really wants me to win the money purely because he spent four hours of his time driving me up here.
38:07So the deal was, I'll drive you up, but you better win some dosh.
38:10Exactly.
38:11Does he get any of the dosh if you win?
38:12I said I'd pay for petrol.
38:14Oh, how... But only if you win the big money.
38:16Yeah.
38:17Wow, you're generous. Thanks, Ace Doody. Thanks for that £4.60 for the petrol.
38:22Well, listen, well done, Ace. You're still with us. Mandy Steen is still with us.
38:26Do you know what? You don't like being on television, do you?
38:28You don't like drawing attention to yourself, do you?
38:30What gave it away?
38:31I'll tell you what gave it away. You answered that quicker than anybody else in 1.5 seconds.
38:37APPLAUSE
38:40Wow.
38:41Hmm, I think you do like being on television, and I think you might go the whole way.
38:45Oh, I don't know.
38:46We'll find out, won't we? Well done, Mandy.
38:49And guess what, Megan Hopkins? You still have got that pass.
38:52Yeah.
38:53APPLAUSE
38:55So Megan is obviously one of the favourites now because she's still with us,
