00:00Have you got what it takes to make it all the way to our final question and join the 1% Club?
00:15Anyone has a chance to win because this quiz isn't about how much you know,
00:18it's about how your brain really works, as all our questions are about logic and common sense.
00:23So who will make it to the end and answer a question only 1% of the country can get right
00:26and win up to £100,000?
00:30Let's play in the 1% Club!
00:36And hoping to win tonight are 100 players!
00:39Hello all!
00:41Right, give us a cheer if you've got no doubt that you're taking home the big money tonight.
00:48Lady at the top though, what do you want?
00:49Hello, Charlotte.
00:50Hello Charlotte. Why are you so confident?
00:52Well, my dad said that I'm not allowed to come home if I don't win the £100,000,
00:56so I've kind of got to win, otherwise I'm stuck here.
00:58Right, will he get you on a technicality? If you win 97, is he still going to chuck you out?
01:02I don't know, I think we'll have to wait and see.
01:04Do you live at home?
01:05Well, I go to uni in Bournemouth, but I've come home recently.
01:08OK, and he wants you to stay at home, obviously. He loves you.
01:12No, he wants me to go back to uni. He's fed up of me.
01:16Right.
01:16So I think that's why he's abandoning me.
01:18You do know this is a quiz show rather than some sort of therapy session.
01:22OK.
01:23Good luck everyone, and don't forget, you can play along at home if you want.
01:26All you have to do is download the app.
01:27OK, before we ask our first question, here's a reminder of how the show works.
01:31We asked a cross-section of people from all over Britain a list of our unique questions.
01:36Based on their answers, we can tell statistically what percentage of the country should get each one right.
01:42Tonight, I'll be asking those exact questions to our 100 contestants,
01:46beginning with the easier one that 90% of Britain got right,
01:49and ending with the most challenging question that only 1% of the great British public answered correctly.
01:55At the start of the show, every contestant is given a £1,000 stake.
01:59If they get any question wrong, they are out of the game,
02:01and the £1,000 is transferred to the 1% prize pot.
02:06Whoever gets the furthest in the quiz wins £10,000,
02:09and the chance to answer the final 1% question to win everything in the prize pot,
02:13and take home up to £100,000.
02:20Right, let's get on with it. It's time for our first question.
02:24So this is one that 90% of our survey got right.
02:27Let's see how you do.
02:29If you throw one dart at each of these boards,
02:34which four-letter word cannot be spelt out?
02:37The time starts now.
02:42Who uses four darts?
02:44LAUGHTER
02:45OK, your time is up.
03:04Let's see who's like to stay on and are still in the game,
03:06and how many people are out.
03:07Right, we lost two people on that one.
03:22Let's have a look at the answer.
03:24It's B, quiz.
03:26There's no Z in the last image.
03:28Unfortunately, if your lights are off,
03:30then you're out of the game like Michael Spores.
03:33Yeah.
03:33Oh, Michael.
03:37Now, the people at home are wondering why we're laughing.
03:40I did say a quick hello to everyone before we started the show,
03:43and it was pointed out that you get told that you look like me.
03:46Well, four people today on the show, actually.
03:48So, really, you've gone out first, and then there's that.
03:51You've had a doubly bad day, haven't you?
03:53I know, you're right, you're right.
03:55Never mind.
03:56What do you do, Michael?
03:57Well, I'm a screen extra sometimes, and I write little stories.
04:00And do you ever get any speaking parts?
04:02No.
04:03You're not allowed to speak, are you?
04:04Well, if you do, they have to pay you extra money, so...
04:07But you have to react?
04:08Yeah, or you might be sort of miming to somebody.
04:11Oh, I see.
04:12Like if you're in a pub or something.
04:14So, if we weren't allowed to hear you speak,
04:16how would you react to this if I said,
04:18unfortunately, you've just gone out on the 90% question?
04:20LAUGHTER
04:22Wow, that hammy, yeah?
04:25Really that hammy.
04:27That was pretty good, I'm impressed.
04:29Michael, unlucky, but you're not on your own, Michael.
04:31One other person we lost, Ryan Morris.
04:33Sorry, Ryan.
04:35Nerves got the better of me.
04:36It's got the better. What happened? What did you put?
04:38Put show.
04:38Be honest, are you pleased that someone else has also gone out
04:42rather than you being the only one?
04:43Not really.
04:44Oh, OK.
04:45I'm trying to make you feel better and it's not working.
04:47Cos I've told everyone at home that I'm on it today.
04:49Have you?
04:49And they all said the same thing.
04:51What?
04:51Just make sure, don't go out on the first.
04:53No.
04:53I proved them wrong.
04:54You didn't really prove them wrong, did you?
04:56I proved them right, sorry.
04:57You proved them right.
04:58I mean, you couldn't even get that right.
05:00LAUGHTER
05:01Never mind, Ryan.
05:04Right.
05:04So, there are 98 people still left in the game
05:07and the £1,000 of everyone who got the question wrong
05:09now goes into the prize pot.
05:11Let's see what it's done to the total.
05:12Right, we're on £2,000.
05:16It's a start.
05:16We're starting.
05:18Right, time for the 80% question.
05:21So, this is a question that 80% of people we asked
05:23managed to get right.
05:24See how you get on with this one.
05:28What winter sport is represented here?
05:31Time starts now.
05:32You're all looking excited.
05:38Give it a couple of rounds and we'll soon cure you of that.
05:40LAUGHTER
05:41OK, your time is up.
05:58Let's see who got it right.
05:59So, we lost one of you.
06:13Let's have a look at the answer.
06:16It's ice hockey.
06:17Ice-hoc-key.
06:18Someone who got it right is Jack Brett.
06:21Hello, Jack.
06:21Apart from being the lead singer of Pulp,
06:23what do you do for a living?
06:25I work in a fashion shop shop.
06:26Where's that?
06:27In Bala Money, in my hometown, Northern Ireland.
06:30Flash in a pan.
06:31That's a great name for a chip shop.
06:32What would you do with the big money if you win?
06:34I'd probably spend it on my hobbies,
06:36which is basically Pokemon.
06:38Entirely that.
06:39Plushies, games, trading cards, all of that.
06:42Are you talking up to £100,000?
06:44Or you mean if you win £10,000?
06:47Yeah, well...
06:48But some of it gets a little bit pricey.
06:49What noise did you just make there?
06:50Did you actually turn into a Pokemon mid-sentencer?
06:53That's the noise I make when I'm trying to say something.
06:56I think your voice might have just broken on national television.
06:59It does that a lot.
07:00I think I would buy a Pokemon!
07:03Listen, well done, Jack.
07:04You're still with us.
07:04Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
07:09We're on £3,000.
07:10OK, so there's 97 people still with us
07:14and we are on to the 70% question.
07:17Let's take a look.
07:21Barnaby was told he could have a certain number of chocolate biscuits.
07:24He took double that number but felt guilty and put one back.
07:28He then had nine.
07:29How many was he told he could have?
07:32The time starts now.
07:37Only put one back.
07:38Didn't feel that guilty, did he?
07:39OK, your time is up.
07:58Right, let's see who got it right.
07:59Right, we lost just three people, though.
08:16Let's have a look at the answer.
08:17It's five.
08:18He took ten biscuits, double his allocation,
08:20put one back and still has nine.
08:23So we've lost three of you, including Darren Tinder.
08:26Sorry, Darren Trinder.
08:28Not Tinder, obviously.
08:29Yeah, yeah.
08:29Are you single?
08:31No.
08:31OK, let's call it...
08:32I'll change it, I'll say it properly.
08:34One person who got it wrong was Darren Grindr.
08:38Sorry.
08:39One person who got it wrong is Darren Trinder.
08:41I've finally got it right.
08:43I wouldn't do very well on this quiz, would I?
08:44What did you put?
08:45I put nine.
08:46I don't know, I just couldn't get my head around it.
08:48He couldn't.
08:49Yeah, I suppose he then had nine.
08:51How many was he told?
08:51Yeah, I suppose there is a nine in there.
08:53Yeah.
08:53I'm trying to help you.
08:55Yeah, it didn't work.
08:56Sorry.
08:56Darren, what do you do?
08:57I'm an HGV driver.
08:59Are you a competitive person?
09:01Very competitive.
09:02Any examples of that?
09:03Quite a few things.
09:04I was Drove of the Year for the company I worked for.
09:07Were you?
09:07Yeah.
09:08That's good.
09:09Did you get a pay rise for it?
09:10I got £3,000 actually.
09:12That's good.
09:12Yeah, and I went to Italy to race against the winners from the rest of the world.
09:17Sorry, in your HGV?
09:18No, no, no.
09:19We flew over there and then we were racing sprinter vans around Monza racetrack.
09:24The little white vans?
09:25Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:26Like a sprinter van, yeah.
09:27What kind of speeds can you do in them?
09:2980 mile an hour.
09:30Is that safe?
09:31No, not really.
09:34And yet, funny, when those vans are delivering stuff to me,
09:36it seems to take three and a half weeks.
09:37Yeah, exactly, yeah.
09:39Unlucky Darren.
09:40Let's see what that's done to the prize putt.
09:44We're on £6,000.
09:47I should point out as well, you're obviously a clever bunch
09:51because at this point we've usually lost about 30 people
09:53and we've only lost six of you, so well done.
10:0094 clapping, the other six going,
10:02you all right, mate, leave it out.
10:02It's time for the 60% question.
10:06Have a look.
10:09Which of these names fits into all the gaps below
10:13so that each sentence has five words that start with the same letter?
10:18OK, your time starts now.
10:41OK, your time is up.
10:51Let's see who got it right.
11:11Right, you know, before when I said how well you were doing, I think that is the most
11:25amount of people we've ever had out on a round.
11:28You've gone from being one of the cleverest audience to losing the most amount of people
11:32in one round.
11:33We have lost 40 people.
11:35I mean, it was a one in three guess.
11:37I don't know how that's possible.
11:39Let's have a look at the answer.
11:41It's be Hannah.
11:43The first sentence has four words that start with H, so it needs Hannah to make it five.
11:47The other sentences already have five words beginning with the same letter.
11:52Right, let's talk to everyone that went out, including Rebecca Fletcher.
11:58Hello.
11:59She's thinking, 40 and I get picked on, how does this work?
12:03Rebecca, what did you put?
12:04I put Bianca because I read, I counted all the words and didn't take into account the blanks.
12:11I put it in the face that I needed to fill.
12:12Okay.
12:13What do you do, Bianca?
12:14Rebecca, sorry.
12:15I wasn't rubbing it in.
12:17That was a genuine mistake.
12:18What do you do, Rebecca?
12:19I'm a dinner lady.
12:20And what do you do in your spare time?
12:22I've got three children and we've recently collected a load of tadpoles from my mum and
12:26dad's garden.
12:27Okay.
12:28So we don't actually have a pond, so we have plastic tubs lined up in my garden full of
12:34tadpoles.
12:35How many?
12:36Between 50 and 100, possibly a few more.
12:39Wow.
12:40That's literally how many people almost went out.
12:42I know.
12:43Everybody could have one tadpole each.
12:45Everyone that went out gets a tadpole.
12:47Never mind, Rebecca.
12:49Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
12:54Wow.
12:56£46,000.
12:58It's time for a quick break.
12:59We've lost 46 people here already.
13:01Hope you're doing okay at home and don't forget you can play along on the app.
13:04After the break, we'll be moving closer to seeing if anyone here can answer the 1% question.
13:08See you in a bit.
13:09Welcome back to the 1% Club.
13:21We started off with 100 people and now we are down to 54.
13:24The person who does best here tonight could be going home with up to £100,000.
13:31So welcome to everyone who's still in the game and from now on we are going to give you
13:34the option to pay for a pass to the next question.
13:36And if you do, your £1,000 will be transferred to the prize pot.
13:40However, if you get as far as the 30% question without using your pass,
13:44you'll get the chance to take your £1,000 and leave the game.
13:48Right.
13:48We have got 54 people left in the show and it's time for the 50% question.
13:55Let's take a look.
13:59When the letters in the names of these capital cities are put into alphabetical order,
14:03which one has N as the fifth letter?
14:05Your time starts now.
14:07Your time starts now.
14:35OK, your time is up.
14:40I sometimes look at these questions and ask,
14:42when would this ever come up in real life?
14:46Right, let's see who got it right.
14:47Right, we lost 13 people. Let's have a look at the answer.
15:10It is B, Dublin, and there is the N to prove it.
15:16So we've lost 13 of you there, including Maddie Dawson.
15:19Where are you, Maddie?
15:19Here.
15:20Hey, Maddie, what did you put?
15:21I put A.
15:22You put A.
15:23Yeah.
15:24I don't know my alphabet.
15:26Oh, don't you?
15:26No.
15:27Why don't you use the pass?
15:28Because in my head, I was like, right, you can't be that thick to get that wrong.
15:33So...
15:33Just before you say that, a few people went out, not just you.
15:36Careful what you say.
15:37And now, yeah, I was just going to... I was saving it. I was saving it.
15:40You were saving it. You were being tactical.
15:41You wanted to use it later.
15:43And I was... I spent ages going L-O-N-M.
15:47Yeah, that's not the correct order of the letter.
15:48Yeah, I realise that now.
15:50You don't know the alphabet, do you?
15:51No.
15:51OK, Maddie, never mind. It hasn't worked out.
15:53And let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
15:59£65,000!
16:03OK, it's time for the 45% question.
16:07Let's take a look.
16:10Image one and image two below have been divided into four parts.
16:13Each part represents the letter in the same position in the word.
16:17Using this information, what five-letter fruit is being displayed
16:21in image three.
16:22The time starts now.
16:51OK, your time is up. Let's see whose lights are still on.
17:14OK, we've lost three people. Let's have a look at the answer.
17:17It's Peach. There it is.
17:20OK, someone who got that wrong is Josh Cook.
17:23Yeah, what did you put?
17:24I put Carrot.
17:26Carrot? Yeah.
17:28Josh, Carrot hasn't got five letters and he's shocking you
17:31that it's not a fruit.
17:32Yeah, I wasn't too sure. It's like the last, like, seconds, I thought.
17:35Just put anything down.
17:36Yeah. I mean, your surname's Cook, but I don't think you do much, do you?
17:39No. Not anymore.
17:41Did you panic or did you genuinely think that Carrot was a fruit?
17:44No, no, I panicked. I didn't have a clue, to be fair.
17:46OK, fair enough, Josh. Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
17:5071,000 pounds.
17:53APPLAUSE
17:55Right, we lost three of you there. Six people passed,
17:58which means we have 38 players left in the game.
18:01It's time for the 40% question.
18:03Let's take a look.
18:07After pairing up as many matching pairs as you can,
18:11how many odd socks are left over?
18:14Time starts now.
18:25We'll see you next time.
18:27To be continued.
18:29OK, your time is up. Let's see if you've got it right.
18:59OK, we lost seven people. Let's have a look at the answer.
19:12It's three, and there they are. Somebody who used to pass is Stephanie Ross.
19:16You didn't know it, Stephanie. I thought it was three,
19:19and then I panicked and recounted. That extra blue salt was annoying, wasn't it?
19:23Yeah, so I passed. OK. What do you do, Stephanie?
19:26I'm a student. And what do you do in your spare time?
19:29Well, when I'm in summer from uni, I get quite bored,
19:32so I like to teach myself the kind of educational songs,
19:36like the Kings and Queens song from Horrible Histories,
19:39and the States of America, and the periodic table is what I'm learning this summer.
19:44Can you do it?
19:45So it goes hydrogen, then helium, then lithium, beryllium,
19:48boron carbon everywhere, nitrogen all through the air,
19:51there's oxygen so you can breathe, and fluorine for your pretty teeth,
19:54neon to light up the signs, and sodium for salty times,
19:56magnesium, then aluminium, silicon, phosphorus,
20:00then sulphur, chlorine, and argon.
20:02That's very good.
20:03APPLAUSE
20:07I've just had a vision that the next question was going to be,
20:09periodic table, everyone's going to go,
20:11she's won it, she's absolutely won it.
20:12Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
20:17£78,000.
20:18Right, let's move on to the 35% question.
20:24OK, here it is.
20:27This ancient courtyard is square and has four columns on each side.
20:32How many columns are there in total?
20:35The time starts now.
21:07OK, your time is up. Let's see who got it right and how many people are out.
21:25OK, we've lost two people. Let's have a look at the answer.
21:29It's 12. There they are. We've lost Asha Patel. Where are you, Asha?
21:33Yeah, here. You sound mortified, Asha.
21:36I put 12 and then I changed to 13 and then I panicked and I pressed confirm.
21:40You put 13? Yeah.
21:42That's not a number I was expecting to see. I know, because I double counted it as well.
21:46You didn't think it must be probably an even number, maybe, as a square?
21:49I don't know. No, listen, it's easy for me to say. I know the answers.
21:52Well, I don't, but they're written down here.
21:54Did you have plans for the cash?
21:56Well, I was just going to go towards my career, but last night my brother said, he was like,
22:00if you're on TV, I'll screenshot it, get a tattoo of it on his arm.
22:05And he was like, you can pay for it with the money.
22:07So I was kind of lucky I haven't won, but...
22:09Do you think he'll do it?
22:10I don't know, he might do. You seem pretty confident.
22:13Yeah, it's just going to be your face going, I'll be...
22:16OK, unlucky, Asha.
22:18Somebody got it right is Lewis Thomas. Where are you, Lewis?
22:21Did you get that quite quickly?
22:23Yes, and then I spent a while recounting it just to make sure I'm not going crazy and I did get it correct.
22:28OK. What made you apply, Lewis?
22:30Well, we have a funny story, so I was always thinking of coming on the show,
22:34and then one day I was in McDonald's eating a Big Mac,
22:37and the show was on my mind, so I was like, Big Mac, Lee Mac, let's just go for it.
22:41OK.
22:42And then I just applied.
22:43Because of that?
22:44Pretty much.
22:45So if a little two-pence piece had fallen off, tipping point.
22:48Yeah.
22:49That's what would have happened.
22:50OK, listen, you're still with us, Lewis, so well done.
22:53Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
22:5581,000 pounds.
23:00Right, it's time for a quick break.
23:02Well done to everyone who's still in the game.
23:04We'll see you in a bit when someone here could win up to 100,000 pounds.
23:18Welcome back to the 1% Club.
23:19We've been asking questions which have been tested out on a cross-section of the British public,
23:23and we've been whittling down the contestants here tonight,
23:26and are left with 29 people with their lights still on.
23:29As a reward, any contestant who hasn't played their pass
23:32and still has their 1,000 pounds now has a choice.
23:34Play on for the big money in the prize pot,
23:36or you can take your 1,000 pounds and leave the game right now.
23:39First of all, let's see which players still have their 1,000 pounds.
23:44So, those of you with your lights on,
23:46you can take your money and leave the show if you want.
23:48So please make your decision now.
23:50OK, two people have decided to take their money,
24:06including Amanda Brooks Lamb. Hello.
24:09You didn't fancy your chances? No.
24:11Was it always the plan? Yeah, but I got a bit lucky with the Hannah question.
24:15Did you? Was it a random guess? It's my wife's name.
24:18Oh, I see. So, but you didn't know it, you just went with that name because of your wife.
24:21No, yeah, I panicked, and then it got a bit late, so I was like...
24:25Just go with her name. Yeah. Oh, well done.
24:27What are you going to do with your 1,000 quid?
24:29Probably buy some more trainers and some Lego. Lego? Yeah.
24:33How much Lego have you got? Probably about 3,000 pounds worth.
24:36And what does your wife think of this Lego obsession?
24:38Erm, she's got on it now. She buys the flowers.
24:41She's got on it? You made that sound like heroin.
24:43Definitely not. Yeah, she's a bit upped on the Lego now.
24:46Yeah, I've got her on it. It started off in a little brick and then it just goes from there.
24:49It is an addiction. It's got out of man now.
24:51She's got an old Star Wars figure.
24:53Well, listen, well done, Amanda. You've got 1,000 pounds.
24:56Thank you. Congratulations.
24:57APPLAUSE
24:58Right, so the rest of you have decided to play on.
25:01Let's see if that's a gamble that will pay off,
25:03and if any of you can go all the way and join the 1% Club.
25:06And remember, if you've still got your 1,000 pounds,
25:08you can pay for a pass to the next question.
25:11It's time for the 30% question.
25:16Let's take a look.
25:19Explorer Alabama Smith's map shows the three different ways
25:24to reach the hidden treasure.
25:26What is the fewest number of times he has to cross a river
25:29to get to the prize?
25:31Your 30 seconds starts now.
25:36OK. Your time is up.
25:39OK, your time is up.
26:06Let's see who got it right.
26:09Right, none of you got that wrong.
26:23Let's have a look at the answer.
26:26It's five.
26:27The bottom route crosses the river five times,
26:28which is fewer than the top route.
26:30And the middle route, somebody got that right, is Jenny Bayliss.
26:33Did you get that quickly?
26:34Yeah, I thought it was too good to be true, to be fair.
26:37What do you do, Jenny?
26:37I have an online cocktail company.
26:40Do you?
26:41Yeah, we make cocktails and deliver them through the letterbox.
26:44Oh, doesn't it smash when it hits the ground?
26:47Special packaging.
26:49Ah, what's your favourite cocktail?
26:51It's actually pina colada, but we don't sell that.
26:53That is the worst bit of marketing I've ever heard.
26:56My favourite cocktail is pina colada, but we don't sell that.
26:58But if you like a pale ale, why don't you do pina colada?
27:02It's the cream.
27:03We wouldn't be able to, like, guarantee the freshness.
27:06Oh, OK.
27:06What's your biggest seller?
27:08Margarita.
27:09OK.
27:09I love a pizza.
27:11Listen, well done, Jenny.
27:13Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
27:14Nothing, of course, because nobody got it wrong.
27:21We are at the 25% stage now.
27:25OK, here's the question.
27:26You need to put a number from one to six into each circle,
27:33but you can only use each number once.
27:35What number will replace the question mark?
27:39OK, your time starts now.
28:12OK, time is up.
28:13Let's see who got it right.
28:31Right, we lost three people there.
28:32Let's have a look at the answer.
28:35It's three.
28:36It's one and two.
28:38Someone who got it right is Asya Kadri.
28:41Did you get that quite quickly?
28:42I think so, and then I kind of worked it out twice, so...
28:45OK, all right.
28:46And what do you do?
28:47I'm a software engineer, but I used to be a teacher.
28:50I used to teach secondary school maths,
28:52but I had to stop that because I kept getting confused for a year seven.
28:56They thought you were a child.
28:58Yeah, regularly.
29:00How old were you at the time?
29:01Like, 24.
29:03You do look very young, I have to say.
29:05Do you think the school uniform didn't help?
29:07Do you usually do well at this at home?
29:11I can kind of get to the 1% question and then I bottle it,
29:14so that's probably what would happen today.
29:16OK, we'll keep an eye on you then.
29:18Don't forget, paper round tomorrow,
29:20so let's get this done as quickly as possible.
29:21Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
29:27We're now up to £83,000.
29:31We've got 24 people screwing the game
29:33and are down to the 20% question now.
29:37Let's take a look.
29:40Which number crayon is two to the left of the one
29:43that's six to the right of the one
29:46that's three to the left of the one
29:48that's directly to the right of the crayon
29:51at number four.
29:53Your time starts now.
29:54MUSIC PLAYS
30:21OK, your time is up.
30:27Let's see who got it right.
30:29MUSIC PLAYS
30:30OK, we lost three people.
30:47Let's have a look at the answer.
30:47Six.
30:51So, somebody who got it right is Megan Hopkins.
30:54You've still got your pass.
30:55Yeah, I can't believe it.
30:57Are you feeling confident?
30:58No.
30:59Did you not think you were going to get this far?
31:00No.
31:01Really?
31:01What do you do?
31:02I work in market research.
31:04And have you got plans for the money when you win?
31:06I would like to go to New Zealand
31:07and watch my boyfriend do a bungee jump.
31:11With a rope or without one?
31:14I'll let him have the rope.
31:15Let him have the rope.
31:16Yeah.
31:17Good luck tonight.
31:18Someone else who's got a pass is Thomas Murray.
31:20What are you going to do with the money?
31:22Probably take their kids away on holiday.
31:23Leave them there, yeah?
31:24Yeah.
31:25Good idea.
31:26Bring them back as well.
31:27Do you have any sort of plan
31:29to whether to take the 10 grand at that point
31:31or would you gamble it?
31:32Do you know what you would do on stage?
31:34Under instructions from my wife,
31:35if there's more than two people
31:37along with me down on the floor,
31:41go for it.
31:41If ever your wife said,
31:42if there's more than two people
31:43down on the floor with you,
31:44go for it.
31:45I would say that you've got
31:46a very open relationship.
31:48The other final person with a pass
31:50is our Big Mac man, Lewis Thomas.
31:52Well done, Lewis.
31:53So, well done for those of you still in
31:55and well done for those of you
31:56who still got a pass.
31:58APPLAUSE
31:59Right, let's see what that's done
32:01to the prize pot.
32:05£94,000.
32:07Right, we are getting close to the end.
32:09It's now time for the 15% question.
32:13Let's take a look.
32:16Mina has one of each of the coins below.
32:19Using any combination of them,
32:21what is the lowest amount of money
32:23she cannot make with the coins?
32:27Your 30 seconds starts now.
32:29The limited functions of the coins are
32:47that you possibly want,
32:47with you is not Chile.
32:49It is half-define,
32:50so yes,iffe 부분 Şu.
32:51This I Heartslaw is about this huge thing.
32:52Yeah.
32:52We are getting close to the coins
32:52that I'm only registered and pal
32:55without behalf of others,
32:55although there's nothing less
32:57what that looks like,
32:57OK, your time is up. Let's see who's lights are still on.
33:23Right, we lost 12 people on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
33:26It's four pence. She can make 1p and 2p using their respective coins
33:30and 3p using 1p plus 2p, but she cannot make 4p.
33:34Somebody who got it right is Martin McDonald. How are you?
33:38Stressed. Welcome to the show. Thank you.
33:42What do you do, Martin? I'm a maths teacher.
33:45Well, then, that's handy for you.
33:47Well, the stress is going out on a maths question, isn't it?
33:50Yeah, so you don't feel good when you get a maths question.
33:52You feel there's more pressure. OK. What are you going to do with the money?
33:55Well, I've got a great family, so they'll probably...
33:58We'll get together and have a celebration.
34:01And I'll probably buy a dog for my brother. Does he want one?
34:04I think so. I would check on that before you give it to him.
34:07Don't be knocking on the door with a great day and then say surprise.
34:10Well done, Martin. You're still with us now.
34:12Mandy Steen also got it right. Where are you, Mandy? Are you all right?
34:15I'm having a terrible time. Oh, thanks.
34:18Well, welcome to my house. Why are you having a terrible time?
34:21I was OK until the 60% question and just since then it's been...
34:24Did you not think you were going to get this far?
34:26I think sometimes I do really well and sometimes I do terribly
34:28and I just didn't want to come on the telly and embarrass myself.
34:31You would definitely not embarrass yourself if you were going to reach
34:34the 10% question. Well, thank you.
34:36So how can you be still stressed? I don't know. I just am.
34:39Really? Yeah, so we could just cut this whole...
34:41Here's an idea then. Don't apply for television programmes.
34:43I know. I don't know why I did this to myself. I brought this on myself.
34:46So you thought you'd just apply but as long as you're not featured?
34:48Yeah. Because you'll probably go out early anyway, won't you?
34:50Yeah. And then no-one will spot you.
34:52And here you are, down to the last few, down to the 10%
34:55and I'm just talking to you. Thank you. Is it horrific?
34:57It's pretty bad. OK, fair enough.
34:59All right, well, listen, Mandy, well done.
35:01There's only one person in the room has got a pass
35:04and that is Megan Hopkins. Well done, Megan.
35:07Thank you. You're doing well, Megan.
35:11Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
35:18£97,000.
35:20We are down to our last nine players.
35:23After the break, we'll find out which of our remaining contestants
35:25could go on to play the 1% question.
35:27See you in a bit.
35:40Welcome back to the 1% Club.
35:41We are very nearly at the point where we will discover
35:43who our winner will be.
35:44Now, here's how the end of the game works.
35:46Whoever does the best here tonight will win £10,000.
35:48But if they're feeling brave, they can risk their £10,000
35:51by trying to answer the 1% question.
35:53Get it right, they will win everything in the prize pot,
35:56which is currently sitting at...
35:58£97,000.
36:00And remember, Megan, because you still have your £1,000,
36:06you can pay for a pass but you can't use it on the 1% question.
36:09But if you've still got it at the 1% question,
36:11then you get to keep that £1,000 no matter what happens.
36:15It's now time for the 10% question.
36:18Here it is.
36:19Larry the Llama always tells lies.
36:21He's hiding behind one of ten locked doors numbered 1 to 10.
36:25Behind which numbered door is Larry hiding?
36:27The time starts now.
36:31The time starts now.
36:38Whois-
36:40You
36:43A
36:44To
36:45Vol
36:54To
36:55To
36:56To
36:57To
36:58To
37:03To
37:04OK, your time is up. Let's see who got it right.
37:29Right, we lost just two people on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
37:31It's seven. Larry always tells lies, so we have to take the opposite of what he is saying.
37:37Somebody who got it right is a great name. I love this name. Ace Doody.
37:41What do you do? I'm going to say First World War fighter pilot.
37:44Exactly. I'm Ace Doody!
37:45And in my spare time, I'm a student of psychology and linguistics.
37:49OK. And did you think you were going to do this well?
37:52I don't want to jinx it. But you did.
37:54Statistically, I tend to get to this point and then it gets a bit wary.
37:59Yeah, yeah. Anybody waiting to find out how you'll get on today?
38:02Yeah, my brother really wants me to win the money purely because he spent four hours of his time driving me up here.
38:08So the deal was, I'll drive you up, but you better win some dosh.
38:11Exactly. Does he get any of the dosh if you win?
38:13I said I'd pay for petrol. Oh, how...
38:15But only if you win the big money. Wow, you're generous.
38:19Thanks, Ace Doody. Thanks for that £4.60 for the petrol.
38:22Well, listen, well done, Ace. You're still with us. Mandy Steen is still with us.
38:26Do you know what? You don't like being on television, do you?
38:29You don't like drawing attention to yourself, do you? What gave it away?
38:31I'll tell you what gave it away. You answered that quicker than anybody else in 1.5 seconds.
38:38APPLAUSE
38:40Wow. Hmm. I think you do like being on television.
38:44I think you might have gone the whole way. Oh, I don't know.
38:46We'll find out, won't we? Well done, Mandy. Thank you.
38:48And guess what, Megan Hopkins? You still have got that pass.
38:52Yeah.
38:56So, Megan is obviously one of the favourites now, because she's still with us,
38:59but she's still got the pass. But good luck to everybody.
39:01Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
39:05Nothing at all, because Megan is keeping hold of that £1,000.
39:10OK, we have seven people left and we are down to the 5% question.
39:16And remember, Megan, it's the last time you can pay for a pass.
39:21OK, let's take a look at it.
39:26There are eight triangles in this shape. Looking at images one and two,
39:30if you remove line A from image one and line B from image two,
39:34how many triangles will there be in image one and image two in total?
39:40The time starts now.
39:46OK, your time is up.
40:13Let's see if you've got it right.
40:34OK, we lost two people. Bad luck. Let's have a look at the answer.
40:37It's nine. There are five triangles in image one and four triangles in image two.
40:42So, we did lose two people there in shocking news, including Megan Hopkins.
40:47I'm good.
40:48Megan, you must have been very sure about the answer.
40:51I was.
40:52Which one did you miss? Do you know? Can you see?
40:54Yeah, I've just seen it there. It's the big one on image one.
40:58At the side. At the side, the side triangle. Yeah.
41:02Oh, Megan, listen, you did brilliant to get this far.
41:04Thank you. Especially not using your pass.
41:05So, well done. It's very unlucky.
41:07But we have our finalists. Congratulations to Lewis Thomas,
41:10Asiya Kadri, Martin McDonnell, the ace duty and Mandy Steen.
41:15Come down and join me. You made it to the 1% question.
41:18Because you've done so well and made it to our final question,
41:29you win a share of £10,000.
41:32But now you all face a dilemma.
41:34You can leave the show tonight and take your share, which of course works out at...
41:39£2,000 each. Or you can risk it all by attempting the 1% question.
41:44If you get it right, you'll win your share of everything in the prize pot, which stands at...
41:51£98,000.
41:55Get it wronged and you will, of course, leave with nothing.
41:57Obviously, if one of you decides to play on and gets it right,
42:00then you win all the prize pots.
42:02If more than one of you decides to play, you'll win a share of it.
42:05So, it's now time to make your decision.
42:14OK, all your lights are on, which means that you've decided to play on.
42:27So, Mandy, how's this not wanting to be on TV panning out?
42:30Oh, it's going great.
42:32After whittling down the contestants here in the studio,
42:35we are left with the 1% question.
42:38If you all get this right, you win your share of the prize pot and become members of the 1% club.
42:46Good luck. This is your 1% question.
42:54If you are careful to dot all the small i's and cross all the small t's,
42:59how many crosses on the small t's and dots on the small i's are there in this particular sentence?
43:08OK, your 30 seconds starts now.
43:29OK, your time is up.
43:43Right, your answers are locked in, so you can't change them.
43:46So, we may as well ask what you've put.
43:49Starting with Louis, what did you put?
43:51I put 14.
43:52God.
43:54Asia.
43:55I put 12, but it's wrong, I think.
43:57Ace.
43:58I put 13.
43:59Oh, God, I only put 9.
44:01Mandy.
44:02Could be the one that's right, of course.
44:04Martin.
44:0513.
44:06OK, so we've got a 14, a 12, a 13, a 9 and a 13.
44:10Let's have a look at the answer.
44:25It's 14!
44:26Congratulations, Louis, you are the winner, and get everything in the prize box.
44:3498,000 pounds!
44:36I'll tell you what, Louis, when you add that Big Mac, quite a good decision, wasn't it?
44:48I'll go on the way home to celebrate.
44:50Imagine if you'd have had a cheeseburger instead.
44:52Everything would have been different.
44:53Louis, congratulations.
44:55Unlucky to you four.
44:56You did brilliant to get this far.
44:58Let's have a look at the answer.
45:00There's the answer again.
45:01There they all are in the red letters there.
45:03So, congratulations, Louis.
45:05You are in the 1% Club.
45:06Goodnight!
45:07Yes!
45:08Ella loves you one of them
45:13Yeah!
45:14Yes!
