00:00In a viral moment that will live in infamy, a kiss cam moment broadcast at a Coldplay concert
00:05exposed an apparent cheating tech tycoon and his head of HR mistress as the band's frontman,
00:11Chris Martin, immediately news that they must be having an affair. The couple's reaction had guilt
00:16written all over it as they rushed to hide their faces and duck for cover during the concert at
00:21Gillette Stadium near Boston on Wednesday night. They were quickly identified by online sleuths as
00:26Andy Byron, the CEO of Astronomer, and Kristen Cabot, who is the chief human resources officer
00:32at the company. Astronomer is an AI and data company valued at about $1.2 billion. When Cabot was hired
00:39in November last year, Byron gushed about her 20 years of HR experience and exceptional leadership
00:45skills, telling staff that she was a proven leader. Meanwhile, Cabot wrote on LinkedIn that her
00:50conversations with Byron before her hiring had energized her about the opportunities at the
00:55company. She also boasted that she wins trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers
01:01to assistants. Whoops. Allegedly, Cabot became more than just Byron's work wife, something his actual
01:08wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, is now having to watch play out for all the world to see. After the kiss cam
01:14clip went viral and her Facebook page was bombarded with comments about the scandal, Megan quickly deleted
01:20her account. Page Six observed that her page, which contained family photos, was no longer accessible
01:25as of Thursday morning. Even more ominous, shortly before ticking it down, she deleted her last
01:30name from her profile. As for Cabot, she recently divorced from her husband, Kenneth Thornby. According
01:35to Massachusetts court records, the couple filed for divorce in 2018, and the split was finalized in
01:412022. It's unclear if she has since remarried. The former couple had at least one child, for whom
01:47Thornby paid a lump sum child support payment to Cabot. So what does this humiliating exposure mean
01:53for Byron and Cabot's careers? Employment lawyer William Caffaro told The Post Thursday night,
01:58It's horrible because she is the head of HR. She's involved in an extramarital affair with the CEO.
02:04Basically, how much worse of an HR faux pas could you commit? While many were quick to point out that
02:09Cabot needs a lesson from her own HR handbook, there doesn't seem to be too many employees publicly
02:14shedding tears for Byron. The incident sparked chatter among his former colleagues, with many claiming that
02:19Byron got his rightful comeuppance, according to a source who used to report directly to Byron.
02:24The source claimed that in text groups and chains, former employees are laughing their ass off and
02:29enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed, adding that Byron was allegedly
02:33a toxic boss. A resurfaced report from The Information, a tech and business outlet,
02:39claims that people at Byron's previous company even quit because of how poorly he treated them.
02:44Multiple former employees said Mr. Byron would lash out against employees who disagreed with him,
02:49including threatening to fire them, reads the exposé, in which a former employee claimed
02:54you couldn't challenge him. With Byron heading the company, any action against him, including
02:59possible removal if he violated company policies in his supposed relationship with Cabot,
03:04would be left up to the five other members on the board of directors. Cabot's fate, though,
03:08may already be sealed. I would say she's just about certain to be removed from her position,
03:12because how can you have someone in HR who is having an affair with the CEO,
03:16imposing or making disciplinary decisions over any other employees? That's ludicrous,
03:22Cafaro told The Post. As for the Coldplay fan who accidentally exposed the alleged affair by
03:27filming and posting the viral clip, Grace Springer told The Sun her blunt response,
03:32a part of me feels bad for turning these people's lives upside down,
03:35but play stupid games, win stupid prizes, she said.
