00:00Stephen, I'll start with you. The burden you've had to carry since your dad left you in charge
00:06of the family empire has been immense. What were your initial thoughts when he asked you to take
00:13over? Honestly, at first, I was really excited. I was like, okay, this is the time that I've been
00:18waiting on my entire life. I'm going to single-handedly turn this farm around, turn all
00:23these businesses around. And then that quickly went away as soon as I got hit with all of the
00:28problems that my dad has to deal with on a day-to-day basis. And I realized very quickly that
00:32this was way too much for any one person to take on. And I don't know how my dad's done it for all
00:36these years. And then I had a couple family meetings with Cole, Jesse, and my mom. And it was like,
00:43hey, I'm lost here. I'm going to need your guys' help if we're going to make it through all this.
00:46And so it was truly a team effort to figure out how we were going to run this place without my
00:51dad in charge. And there's no way one person could have done this successfully by themselves.
00:57Cole and Jesse, you two are still such a huge part of the business, obviously. I know there's been
01:03some growing pains between the three of you, but how are y'all running things today?
01:08I mean, we all find what we like, what we're good in, what we do well in. And we stay in our lane.
01:17We know our strengths and we know where we belong. And that's kind of how we've been splitting things
01:22up. There's times where, as you guys can obviously tell, that there's times that all three of us want
01:31to be in charge. And there's times that we fight over that. And you'll see that in season two between
01:35Stephen and I. Stephen and I seem to butt heads quite a bit. But it's really because we have the
01:40same personality and we just care so much about our farming operation, about our businesses. We want
01:44everything to work out so good that we're pouring our heart and soul into everything. So there's going to
01:48be arguments. There's going to be, you know, fights. That's just whenever you're pouring
01:52everything into it like this, that's how it is. Jesse, do you feel like you're being heard? I know
01:57you're a little soft spoken. Yeah. I don't give my opinion too often. I usually let, I'm surrounded
02:03by very alpha male type characters between Stephen Cole and my dad. So they definitely give an opinion
02:10for all of us and enough. So I usually chip in when I feel the time is right and when it's,
02:16I feel it's necessary. Besides that, I usually let them clash it out and try to pick the winning
02:22side for the most part. What you boys have been asked to do regarding the family business,
02:26I think has been very difficult. I think Stephen, you yourself have called your father Captain Chaos.
02:33I mean, I have to ask, do you ever feel any resentment towards him for the situation you were
02:39put into? No, because we're so lucky and blessed. Like we, we have been given the opportunity that no one
02:46our age ever has been. And we, you know, with the farms that we have, with the houses that we,
02:51we live in, like we are so blessed and so thankful for both of our parents that have done so much for
02:56us. So there are times where I get frustrated, but then right immediately after that, I think about
03:02everything that I've been given and how much we've been spoiled compared to anyone else. I'm like,
03:06man, I have no reasons to complain about any single thing about my parents whatsoever.
03:11I have loved meeting your mother this season. Mama McBee, Miss Christie. Did she need any convincing
03:19at all to begin filming with y'all? Yes, she did. She is the complete opposite of my dad. Don't ask me
03:26how they, they met and ended up working out. They are complete opposites. My dad is like, you know,
03:31that we always been saying larger than life, like just his, you know, just an extrovert always wants
03:36to go out. And my mom is the complete opposite. She's to herself. She's doesn't want anybody to
03:41know anything about her. So it was kind of a lot to get her to do this. This really brought her out
03:45of her, you know, out of her shell, like made her, you know, just do things she wasn't really
03:49comfortable doing. And, uh, but I think honestly, you know, afterwards, I think she enjoyed it more
03:54than she thought, you know, she even would looking back and, you know, filming with us all the time.
03:59And, you know, just being able to see these memories we had back on camera, not always good,
04:03but you know, a lot of them are good and be able to look back at these are, uh, are, it's really cool.
04:08I admit, I don't even know where to start with the Galena of it all.
04:12We don't either.
04:13I don't know where to start either.
04:15Jesse, I guess I'll ask you, did you ever think your father's love life would impact the business
04:22as much as it has?
04:24Honestly, no, because he preached to us as kids and young adults that to never let a relationship,
04:31uh, get never involved business with the relationship.
04:35Uh, and obviously he very much failed at that and not just completely, he completely,
04:40just completely tanked it.
04:41So, uh, yeah, no, I did not think it would ever come to that point.
04:46Uh, it definitely has gotten to that point.
04:48Uh, and, uh, it's, it's involved us more so than I'd probably like to admit or that we'd
04:53like.
04:54So, uh, it's been an interesting thing.
04:57It's, it's a hot topic every day, pretty much for all of us.
05:00Steven, I feel like you've really had a front row seat to some of this drama because you're
05:06in the office, um, with Galena.
05:09You know, what is your take on the whole Masha situation?
05:13Because honestly, I'm a little nervous for her.
05:16Galena's not the only Russian in the picture.
05:18There's another one.
05:19Your dad moved me out.
05:21Then he moved in and backstabbing her.
05:23So what happened to your car?
05:27You killed my chickens.
05:28I mean, do you live in your own world?
05:30Do you live in your freaking home?
05:32It was a involuntary front seat, might I add.
05:35Um, but, uh, yeah, it's, you know, I get to see what Galena does day in and day out.
05:41And she is so valuable to the business.
05:44She has worked so hard, um, from where she's came from and, and overcome so much and is
05:49such an integral part to what we've done and what we're hoping to do.
05:54Um, that I, I have a deep respect for Galena professionally.
05:59And then I have to see some of these personal breakdowns where it's like, Galena, come on.
06:03Like, um, I see, I see the value that you bring to the table from the professional side.
06:08Like I see how value, how valuable you are to the company, but these people that don't
06:12get to see what you do day in and day out in the office, they only get to see this personal
06:16like craziness.
06:18And so they're not seeing the value that you bring.
06:20And, and, uh, it's definitely led some very tough conversations and some, um, you know,
06:25me having to be Galena's largest advocate to all of our companies.
06:29And heck, even sometimes to Cole and Jesse, where I'm like, guys, you don't know what
06:33Galena handles in the office.
06:34Like she is so important because they're like, she's a mess.
06:36And I'm like, yes, she is, but she's very good in the office and she's very, she works
06:40very hard.
06:41Um, but the Masha thing, you'll get to see how that all plays out, but it is, it is a
06:46mess.
06:46And, uh, I am not a fan of the drama between Galena, Masha and my dad.
