00:00Can you tell me a little bit about this partnership with U.S. Cellular and why you
00:03decided to become the company's official pinky promise ring officiant?
00:07I just like the message, honestly. And it's creative, too, because it's not what you would
00:14think a cell phone company would be advocating, is it? And I love that contrarian type
00:23against what one would think campaign. And I'm trying to do my part or my best at sort of being
00:34more present. That's definitely something that after I went to Costa Rica, they actually, in fact,
00:40they asked me to, they asked us to put a picture of when you were a child as your screensaver on
00:47your phone, sort of like take you back to like an innocent time. And by the way, also a time where
00:53there was no cell phones. And we played outside and we did all these things. I mean, yeah, there was
01:00Nintendo. I'll give you that. We played some video games, no doubt. But now it feels like everyone's
01:06plugged in at all times. And I don't know. I don't know what the consequence of that has been or will
01:12be in the future. But I think it's important to try to focus on each other face to face and
01:19really listen, hear each other out if they're going through a problem or a tough time and to be
01:28totally willing to listen or to even share your difficulties, because that's really what
01:34friendship's all about. Would you say some events from last season, maybe even a certain text you sent
01:41made you feel more inclined to take on this new role? And what advice would you give to all the
01:45lovestruck texters out there?
01:47Oh, yeah. Well, if you think like this one, like with things are appearing to fall apart,
01:56they're already gone.
02:01There's nothing you can say, unfortunately. But you know what? Lay it all out, man.
02:10Because I felt like after all that, I didn't, I said everything I wanted to say.
02:14I said, good morning, Sienna. Listen, I love seeing you and no one else makes me feel the way
02:20you do. No one. But I'm not going to try to convince someone that they love me for three
02:25days, especially when I know that deep down they do.
02:29And I'm okay with that, if that's not good enough, kind of, you know? I don't, I didn't stay up at night
02:35afterwards being like, ah, I should have, you know, like, I was like, no, I said it. I said it.
02:41I meant it. So yeah, I wish it, I wish it was like a half the, I guess I had edited it a little
02:48more. Maybe that, that text, but I couldn't sleep. I was, we were in the Bahamas and things were
02:56falling apart. And I would, you know, when you like open your eyes for the first time in the morning and
03:02it's like, let's call it six 30 and you're like back to bed. Unless your mind is a complete live
03:08wire. It's going everywhere and you can't get back to bed. And so I started texting or
03:12basically constructing a text, extensive text as it were.
03:18I'd love to get into a little more Southern charm stuff since you guys just wrapped season 11.
03:22I know you've told you that stories on, on Instagram, my phone down less, but you're one of the very few
03:31remaining OGs. Did you ever expect the show to go this far? And how does it feel knowing it has?
03:36No, I'd never, I didn't expect anything. I think the reason, part of the reason the show
03:41was successful in those first several years was none of us knew what the hell we were doing. We
03:48weren't, we weren't entertainers. Uh, we weren't trying to, you know, like a little bit like the
03:53Vanderpump crew, like they were trying to be actors in LA. I mean, so like that was, I think,
03:58am I wrong on that? No, that's right. Oh, okay. And actors, right. So they, they kind of probably
04:06had a vision more clear than, than ours. Um, but I think that's maybe why, um, it works so well for
04:13us because you could tell we did, we were green, so to speak. And, um, I loved those early years
04:19because of that, frankly. Um, I've tried to remain, uh, well, somewhat the same, uh, in my
04:27approach to the show, um, because, uh, authenticity wins the day, um, all the time. So, uh, that's what
04:36I try to do. Um, but 11 seasons is a testament to, uh, the people that, that are no longer on the show
04:43and the ones that, that come along, uh, and join, um, everyone, something always happens. There's
04:50like, I call it like happy accidents, uh, or sad accidents as it were. Um, but it's, there's always
04:57something and I can't, I, it's like a mirror. It's like some miracle, like for some reason we're able
05:03to, um, be, you know, I guess we're, we're just interesting. I guess we're so flawed that it's
05:09interesting and people like to see the ebbs and flows and ups and downs. And I, I hear you. I'm,
05:15I'm, I think, for example, this new season, I'm really excited to watch it. I, I, there's like
05:22several conversations that I want to know what he or she, or he, or he, or she, and she said, I, I
05:29really want to hear it. And, um, because I think it was a very good season. I, I'm not just saying
05:35that. I mean, I think they're all pretty good, honestly, but for some reason this one,
05:39um, we're, it was pretty, uh, everyone agrees was a lot of meat on the bone, so to speak.
05:45Last season, you had a little bit of a love interest, which if you asked me for the best
05:48didn't work out. Will anyone else be getting a shark tooth, shark tooth necklace this year?
05:54Okay. Are you nervous? Are you weird? No, I'm curious to see what it is. Ah, oh, this is so nice.
06:03It's a megalodon tooth. It's a shark necklace. Yeah, but that's like the prehistoric, uh, shark
06:11that was like bigger than all the other sharks. Thank you. Not on camera, but, uh, BravoCon,
06:18I, I'm thinking about selling some shark tooth necklaces. I think that, I think the fans would
06:24love that. Don't you? Catch me first in line, Shep. Yeah. Yeah. Good. Good. You know, and, and,
06:30and, and kudos to Craig and his, uh, team. I mean, uh, about Bravo, they were, they were,
06:38you know, there's the little area where you get, you know, he'll have pillows and stuff.
06:42He was like, why don't we just do like a Southern charm little section? And, uh, which isn't that
06:48groundbreaking, but, um, I was, and he called me and I was like, yeah, he's like, do you have
06:52anything to sell? I was like, well, and then his idea, he was like, you should do shark tooth
06:56necklaces. I was like, Craig, look at you, you business maven you. And, um, yeah. And then I was
07:02like, oh yeah, I could sell my new book too. So I'm excited about that. And, um, yeah, pre-sell it,
07:08I suppose. And so, yeah, BravoCon, I swear, um, we'll be different this time around and, um, I'm
07:15going to have fun, but be way more cognizant of having too much fun. Well, that's very exciting. I
07:21will definitely be buying a shark tooth necklace from you, but you said you have a book coming out.
07:25That's so exciting. Yeah. Yeah, I do. Um, it's kind of, it starts with BravoCon last year or
07:32sorry, last two years ago and sort of, um, and some behaviors that I was not all that pleased
07:38with. And then I went and did Costa Rica and that was super interesting and funny and impactful
07:45and all these things. And then the aftermath of sort of how I readjusted and, and stumbled
07:51and fell a little, a couple of times, you know, stuff like that. And, and it's just
07:55all, it's all there. I, I was journaling while I was there in Costa Rica and sending some of
08:00it to my friends and family. And they were like, you got to keep going. This is, this is
08:04hysterical and interesting. So, uh, here I am going to write another book. I already wrote
08:09it, honestly.
08:10I'm not sure if you saw, but Catherine Dennis recently posted some Instagram stories, seemingly
08:14accusing Sally of copying her. I heard on the next season that someone buys the same car,
08:22dyes their hair, the same color as me, of course, the OG. And then, um, it's because
08:32they tried to put the E before the Y.
08:34What do you think about that? And does that mean that there's, you know, a chance of Catherine
08:43coming back in the future?
08:46I was told about it. I watched it. I didn't like what I saw. It looked, um, like she wasn't
08:52in a good state of mind. Um, I, I can't speak to that though. You know, I wasn't there, but,
08:59um, I don't know. I'm not quite sure. I followed what her line of thinking, but I, I did, I did
09:05detect Sally was implicated. Um, I don't understand the connection all that much. Like, I don't know.
09:13Um, if Sally even really knows Catherine, honestly, but, um, or how Catherine knows
09:18anything about Sally, uh, it's, it's news to me, but man, I wish her the best. So sad. Um,
09:25sometimes when I'm, I'm sure it is, I can't speak, um, from experience when, you know, you're
09:31in a custody situation and I just can't imagine the, uh, some of the anguish that, that occurs.
09:37So I feel for her.
09:38Your friend Craig recently went through a breakup himself. How was your dynamic with him? You know,
09:42how has that been recently? And did he hang out with the guys a little bit more this time
09:46around?
09:46Yeah. Yeah. Oh, Craig's, Craig's, uh, awesome. Uh, um, I, you know, he and I are in, we've
09:55sort of just decided to like put our swords down. It was like, we're never going to see
10:00eye to eye on anything. Um, but there are certain things that we really enjoy about each other.
10:06And, uh, let's just focus on those things. And, um, I try to be someone that he can talk
10:13to and, and confide in. And, um, and we do a little bit of that, but yeah, Craig, Craig
10:20is from another galaxy than I am. I am. So we just, we just understand that and we just
10:26live with it and, and try to celebrate the fun times we have. But, uh, Craig's, Craig's phenomenal
10:33this season. There's also JT. He had a little bit of a rough go of it last season. How was
10:37your friendship with him today?
10:40JT likes me and I'm happy that that's the case. Um, we were actually filming a scene.
10:47Uh, we were actually filming in, in downtown and JT walked by and I made eye contact with
10:55him. I was like, Oh, it's JT. So, um, and he had a big smile on his face. I mean, I don't
11:01know, you know, I, I, he, I played golf with him every now and then, and, uh, he can be
11:08incredibly funny and self-deprecating. And I think he should, I, I, that's my favorite
11:12version of him.
11:14Yeah. Yeah. And he's, so he's gone, gone from the, you might not watch reality TV, but
11:19Jon Hamm does. And he said that Southern charm is his favorite show. He said it's because
11:24it's about these three glorious dummies bumbling their way through lives. He said that
11:28the love of course reality shows are about the women, the housewives or the, this ones
11:32or the, that ones. And, and this one is about these three dumb ass glorious dummies. And I
11:39would say that if they were here bumbling their way through their own lives, what's
11:44your reaction to hear that? I love hearing that. I that's exactly how I would talk about, you
11:49know, people that I enjoyed, uh, watching on TV. I mean, we are dummies. I mean, there's
11:54no doubt about it. And, and I love, I thought it was really funny and I think, uh, he's
12:00really cool guy. I mean, I love mad men. I've never rooted for a guy who was so despicable,
12:05but I rooted for him. So, you know, like I was like, ah, like if he got cheated on, I
12:10was like, that's bullshit. And meanwhile, in your head, you're like, he is cheating all
12:14over town. So I just thought it was a great character, great show. Um, Matt Weiner wrote
12:20it. I mean, I, I thought it's the kind of show you could pick up any season, any episode.
12:24It doesn't matter. That's, that's hard to do. It was that good. I thought, and then
12:28I just, you know, I think he's probably a pretty cool guy. So maybe one day we can break bread.
