00:00Con la sua biblioteca, I know you had a tough teacher, I also did dance and fought for a tough teacher too, so I stopped it.
00:11Your story reminds me of Whiplash, the movie, have you seen it?
00:19Yes, I have, and I've been told similar things.
00:22I think that I understand, and again, everyone has different experiences,
00:26whether you're in a different country or a different school.
00:30I mean, of course, we have a reputation in classical ballet for having extremely strict teachers,
00:36but I think that, especially in America, I think something that I've learned is that you can be hard on someone
00:43and push them without putting them down, and I think there's a difference between those two things.
00:49I think something that's so beautiful about ballet and about dance in particular is that it teaches people,
00:55that's definitely taught me this drive and will to push and maybe not to be too sensitive,
01:03but that it's kind of given me a tough skin in a way that if the person that cares about me and that I trust gives me criticism,
01:14that it's easier for me to not take it personally, and then to be able to separate those people that don't know me,
01:21and maybe you're coming at it from a wrong place, to be able to kind of push that aside.
01:27As well as, you know, you have to be sensitive as an artist, so I feel like the ballet world has given me so many amazing tools
01:34that has made me the woman that I am today.
01:37Nice.
01:38I know you made some documentaries about your life and your career, but have you ever thought about a movie?
01:45Yeah, yes, not because people wanted to make a movie about me, but not necessarily being in one, I didn't know.
01:53Like a fairy tale?
01:54Yeah.
01:55No, I never imagined, no.
01:56No.
01:57No.
01:58No.
01:59Not as, you know, I am an actress on stage, but I tell stories through dance and through movement,
02:07and so I don't think I ever imagined I'd be using my words to be in a film.
02:11So this is like the perfect opportunity.
02:14Of course, yes, because you can be yourself.
02:16Exactly.
02:17I'm in my element.
02:18Not on your life, on your career.
02:20Not completely.
02:21Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:22I mean, maybe one day in the future, you know, if it makes sense for me, but right now, like, you know,
02:28for them to come to me and ask me to be in this film and for me to be sort of the representation of ballet within this film
02:35that means so much to the ballet world and so much to me being the first ballet I ever performed in,
02:41and still to this day performing in it, you know, it just made sense.
02:45And it's such a beautiful story that I think the way they shot the dance sequence and the film throughout,
02:55it's just, it's going to be a classic, I think.
