00:00We'll turn our attention to the biggest game in the conference last weekend.
00:04Duke opened up, Coach, 4-2 in this matchup against Georgia Tech.
00:09Georgia Tech was undefeated at 6-0.
00:11The Blue Devils were a 1-1⁄2, 2-1⁄2 point home favorite in this matchup.
00:16A lot of, I want to say, hype surrounding Manny Diaz, not just in this game,
00:21but potentially maybe replacing James Franklin in Happy Valley.
00:26Well, it was all Georgia Tech.
00:28Brenke and the Yellow Jackets took the game early, and often to the Blue Devils,
00:33they jumped up with a first-half lead, never looked back.
00:36Haynes King with another solid performance.
00:39Coach, they win it outright, 27-18.
00:42They now crack the top 10 entering this weekend.
00:46It's an amazing effort in terms of the program that Brenke has built
00:49and a dominant road effort yet again.
00:52You know, I said this last week before this game was played.
00:56I'm for whoever has Haynes King at quarterback.
00:59He has an ability to take every series and make the best of it.
01:03If you've got to have a touchdown to win the game, which they did,
01:06and he did with a 28-yard touchdown run,
01:09or you've got to run the clock out by getting one more first down,
01:13he's the guy that can do it.
01:15I love the thing that Duke's doing.
01:16That was a very tough game.
01:18Duke was in a position to win it to the very end,
01:21but Haynes King is a difference maker.
01:23If Diego Pavia is the difference maker at Bandy, which he is,
01:28Haynes King is the exact same guy for Georgia Tech,
01:32and that's why Georgia Tech is 7-0, and that's why they beat Duke.
01:36Duke did a good job.
01:37Duke's having a good year.
01:38Duke is a good team.
01:40Georgia Tech is Haynes King better than Duke.
01:42Absolutely, and I actually thought entering the matchup,
01:46Duke was a little bit more physical on the defensive front.
01:50Not the case in this matchup.
01:52You saw Georgia Tech shut down Darian Mensah in that offense,
01:55contain him, especially in certain third-down situations later in the matchup.
02:01They stepped up.
02:01They were opportunistic.
02:03They got the scoop and score to really dictate the tempo in that ballgame
02:07to jump out 7-0.
02:08Also, you mentioned Haynes King.
02:11We could talk dark horses potentially for the Heisman Trophy.
02:15A lot of people look to the SEC, but Haynes King,
02:18what another dynamic performance.
02:20He throws for 205 yards through the air.
02:23He rushes for $1.20 on the ground.
02:25Coach, a touchdown.
02:26He averages 8.6 yards per carry.
02:297-0.
02:30If this team is undefeated,
02:32are we potentially looking at Haynes King to hoist the hardware,
02:36maybe in New York later in the year?
02:37Well, you know, I think they're going to be undefeated going into Georgia,
02:42a non-conference game,
02:43which would still put them in the ACC championship game.
02:47And as they get closer and closer,
02:49and people that are not really ACC fans or Georgia Tech fans start paying more attention,
02:55a lot of that attention is going to go to him.
02:57Now, I don't know the type of offense, you know,
02:59when you're as much a runner,
03:00because he ran for 120 yards in this past game.
03:03I think he ran for about as much, if not more, than he threw for.
03:05But that's the type of offense that they've got.
03:08But now it's all about,
03:09can he take Georgia Tech to that Cinderella season,
03:12to that unbelievable.
03:14And so as we see them go on, and they can,
03:16I think they'll be favored all the way up to Georgia in their final game.
03:20But if they can win those games,
03:22and he has, and he's the reason they win it,
03:24I guarantee his name will be up there towards the top
03:27of the Heisman candidates as they get to that championship game.
