00:34Iliad Tapiria is making the news again, but this time not because of fight news.

00:38Rumors have been circulating that he's broken up with his wife.

00:40The news immediately ignited in all corners of the MMA universe

00:43as fans swarmed social media in shock.

00:46But the most shocking thing of all is what Iliad did in response.

00:49Rather than slipping away, he went boldly online, threatening that no one is safe.

00:54That message is everyone saying the same thing.

00:56A heartbroken, furious Tapiria, maybe the worst version yet,

00:59and that's not good news for anyone facing him next.

01:02A fired up and emotional Tapiria can be a total terror in the cage.

01:06So, who's next for the rampaging Aaliyah Tapiria?

01:09Early rumors pointed towards Armin Sarukyan,

01:12a fight fans would have loved to see.

01:14But Dana White recently put an end to that notion by making the announcement

01:17that Armin will be competing against Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar in November.

01:21First time, we are headed to Doha, Qatar.

01:25November 22nd at the ABHA Arena.

01:29And the main event will be the number two ranked lightweight contender,

01:34Armin Sarukyan, taking on number six ranked Dan Hooker.

01:39Co-main event is going to be former champ and number one ranked contender,

01:43Bilal Mohamed, taking on the number six ranked Ian Gehry.

02:37He stated in public that fighting Teporia at the Santiago Bernabeu in Spain would be a dream come true.

02:43Having two fan-favorite characters go head-to-head in one of the most legendary stages of football is too good to be true.

02:49And for the UFC, it would be a worldwide event waiting to blur.

04:27And for the UFC as well, if you think about it, right now you've got Paddy Pimblatt, who's ridiculously popular.

04:32Who's saying all the right things, by the way, when it comes to Ilya.

04:37But Paddy's star is massive, okay?

04:38You want to capitalize on that right now.

04:40And you want to put him against Ilya Teporia.

04:42Ilya Teporia, by the way, is the most followed fighter, current fighter on the UFC roster.

04:48The man is an absolute superstar in knockout power.

04:51He's got the submissions, the wrestling.

04:53He's got everything, okay?

04:54And you put him against Paddy Pimblatt, I'm telling you, that will do ridiculous blockbuster numbers.

05:00Justin Gaethje, though, wasn't too happy about all the Paddy chatter.

05:04He stepped up and claimed that he deserves the fight more than anybody else.

05:07Gaethje took a trip down memory lane and reminded everyone about the battles he's endured

05:11and how much he's contributed to the UFC in its darkest days.

05:15He feels that if there's a high payoff fight to be had with Teporia, he's the one who's deserving.

05:21Yeah, I mean, that's the fight that I want.

05:23You know, obviously I'm biased.

05:24I'm going to fight for what I feel like I deserve.

05:28But he feels the same.

05:30She feels the same.

05:31We're all biased towards ourselves.

05:34I believe somebody has to fight him this year.

05:38And I think I'm in a better spot than Armin.

05:40So someone's going to fight him.

05:50It looks like Gaethje's dream may actually be on the way.

05:53Spanish MMA analyst Alvaro Colmanero recently broke that the UFC is set to make Justin Gaethje

05:59versus Aaliyah Teporia the first big show under the New Deal with Paramount in January.

06:05And what better way is there than by having Aaliyah defend his pride against one of the most

06:09aggressive fighters in the history of modern MMA?

06:11Mighty Mouse was the first to respond to the possible bout and did not wait to provide

06:16his prediction.

06:17He predicted that Aaliyah Teporia would most probably secure a comfortable knockout victory

06:22over Justin Gaethje.

06:23In his opinion, Justin's fighting style is walking into Aaliyah's trap and disaster may

06:28be the result.

06:29Mighty Mouse cautioned that Justin Gaethje's willingness to roll the dice could get him burned

06:33severely by someone as precise and powerful as Aaliyah Teporia.

06:36His opinion became an instant sensation, fanning the flames of heated discussion among fans.

07:23MMA Guru had similar views as well, opining that the fight is a sure win for Aaliyah,

07:28though he said he admits it is slightly disappointing.

07:31As per him, the initial Paramount card should have been Aaliyah versus Pate, not Aaliyah versus

07:35Gaethje.

07:36Guru believed that the UFC lost out on the chance to have a cultural moment with that

07:40fight, and he claimed that although Justin is a better fighter, Pate vs Aaliyah would

07:45have been an incredibly more exciting show for fans globally.

07:48We've been left with no other choice but this.

07:51It's this, or giving Pate the title shot, and Gaethje's ranked higher than Pimlet, and

07:57to be honest, Gaethje's more deserving of a title shot than Pimlet.

08:00It's unfortunate, I think Pimlet would be a bigger fight.

08:03I think that would be something where you could say, okay, well at least it's silly,

08:07but this is a blockbuster pay-per-view event.

08:10But I think this is a bad standard.

08:11First of all, I think Aaliyah Teporia is going to absolutely destroy Justin Gaethje, and you

08:15know what?

08:15He might be going out there with some vicious intentions because there's rumors that Aaliyah

08:20Teporia and his wife just broke up.

08:23So there's going to be some extra spice on those shots that he's throwing at Justin Gaethje.

08:28Guru went further, voicing discontent with the direction of the UFC.

08:32He stated that reserving this bout sends a negative message regarding title fight levels.

08:37To him, Gaethje receiving the bout after recent losses does not make sense from the standpoint

08:41of rankings.

08:42Guru feels that the company should have held onto the more creative and fan-appreciated

08:46choice in Paddy versus Aaliyah.

08:48I don't like this.

08:50I don't like what this says for the rest.

08:52This tells me that fighters can get into the top five and sit there until their turn comes

08:57around and the UFC has no other choice.

09:00You should have had to have fought once in the past year at least, and you should have

09:05had to have beaten a top five opponent in that year.

09:09If you're going to fight at the end of 2025, I need to see another fight from you in 2025

09:14against a top five opponent that you won.

09:18I would ask for a two-fight win streak.

09:21I'm giving you a bare minimum here.

09:23We have to start setting a standard or championship bouts are going to get watered down completely.

09:28Chilled Sonnen hit the scales next and brought some balance to the debate.

09:32He stated that though the Paddy fight would have been all entertainment, Justin has really

09:36earned his place.

09:37Sonnen reminded everyone that Gaethje went out of his way for the UFC several times when they

09:42needed him the most.

09:43This fight, in Chilled's opinion, is sensible from a competitive standpoint, even if it's

09:48not the most glamorous choice on paper.

09:50I had a concern for Justin Gaethje, which is he had made a statement where he had dug

09:58in.

09:59And at one point along the way, he said, give me a title fight or give me a release, right?

10:06Title fight or bust.

10:08And it made me nervous when he said it.

10:10It made me nervous just because I cannot recall a time that that strategy has worked.

10:19But if there's anyone that would have the right to feel that way, I mean, Justin Gaethje's

10:24done some very heavy lifting, not to mention his very last fight, just to remind you, he

10:28was an underdog.

10:29And just to remind you, it was a rematch that he'd already won.

10:31Nobody wants to do that.

10:32And just to remind you, it was short notice.

10:37Sonnen also mentioned that the quiet late leave from Paddy Pimlet could be another huge

10:41indication.

10:42Paddy, normally very outspoken on social media, has kept quiet of late.

10:47Shale posited that this might be an indication that the UFC has already let go of the concept

10:52of Aaliyah versus Paddy, at least in the short term.

10:55He intimated that perhaps everything in the background was already decided and all indications

10:59were that Gaethje would be the one to get the call.

11:02As ever, Sonnen's observation had people guessing even more.

11:05Very good at media and understands the importance of the manipulation of media.

11:12When that fighter goes quiet, that usually means he doesn't still have something to fight

11:21for.

11:22He doesn't still have a game that he's playing.

11:25He's reached resolution.

11:26Well, at the same time, the Tsurukian and Hooker can be a number one contender's fight.

11:33At the same time that Aaliyah could be fighting Gaethje for the title.

11:39Aaliyah Taboria himself broke his silence over the rumors.

11:42He stated he's not opposed to a bout with Justin Gaethje, but everyone already knows

11:46the outcome.

11:47His tone was adamant in showing that he considers this fight another opportunity to demonstrate

11:51his superiority.

11:52Aaliyah claimed that regardless of whom the UFC brings in front of him,

11:55the outcome will be the same.

11:57And thus, the Matadori gave one last message.
