00:00Because since I'm a born Christian, I have four questions, total four questions to Brother Zakir Naik.
00:07The first question is, Brother, I've been listening to your videos, you know, in YouTube,
00:14that you were talking about the Holy Spirit, and you specifically mentioned that Holy Spirit exists.
00:22So, I just wanted to know, is Holy Spirit there in Islam, according to Quran?
00:31And also, there is a verse in Old Testament Bible, that the Spirit of God is hovering over the waters.
00:40Spirit of God. So, is Holy Spirit separate from Allah?
00:46This is my question.
00:48Sisters, ask two questions.
00:50Question number one is, that there is Holy Spirit.
00:56What is the meaning, and who is this Holy Spirit, as per the Quran, as per Islam, as compared to Christianity?
01:03And the Bible does say that the Spirit of God, who was above the water, what does it mean?
01:09Is the Holy Spirit separate than God?
01:12Sister, you've asked two questions.
01:14If I answer these two questions, will you accept Islam?
01:17I have totally four questions, so...
01:22Okay, so you want me to answer the first two, and then you'll ask the next two questions.
01:26No, no, yeah, absolutely.
01:27I'm 70% convinced, you know, whatever knowledge that my brother shared with me,
01:32and I've been watching your videos, I'm 70% convinced.
01:36I'm being very honest and very transparent.
01:39So, inshallah, if the four questions answered...
01:42Yes.
01:42If you're convinced, 100% will accept Islam.
01:44Insha'Allah, I will accept Islam.
01:47And the Spirit...
01:48The sister asked two questions, and after she'll ask the other two questions,
01:55that the Bible does mention about Holy Spirit.
01:59What is the reference of Holy Spirit in the Quran?
02:03What the definition of Holy Spirit, it is not the same as mentioned in Islam,
02:08because when the Christians, when they talk about the Holy Spirit,
02:15they assume it is part of the Trinity, the triune God,
02:20though the word Trinity doesn't exist in the Bible, nowhere.
02:24The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
02:27When they say, Father, they think about Almighty God,
02:30like a Santa Claus sitting in the heavens,
02:33with the earth at the footstool.
02:35When they talk about the Son,
02:37they think about Jesus Christ, peace be upon Him,
02:39like Geoffrey Hunter in the movie King of Kings,
02:42with blue eyes and good nose, not a polyp nose like a Jew.
02:47When they talk about the Holy Spirit,
02:48they think about dove that came in Pentecost,
02:50or when Jesus Christ was being baptized.
02:55What is the spirit that is measured in the Quran?
02:57What I believe is Quran talks about Archangel Gabriel.
03:02You are one of the angels,
03:05sent by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
03:06and one of his roles was to get the revelation
03:09to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
03:12and many other roles he has got.
03:14So we believe in the archangel.
03:16So like that, if you say that there is a spirit,
03:19we have no problem.
03:20But he is not part of the triune God.
03:22And both are separate.
03:24The angel, the archangel Gabriel is separate than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
03:28and the spirit even mentioned in the Bible
03:30is separate than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
03:32They aren't joined.
03:33This is the teaching of the church.
03:35Because the word Trinity doesn't exist anywhere in the Bible.
03:39But if you read the Quran,
03:41the Trinity is mentioned twice in the Quran.
03:42In Surah Nisa chapter number 4, verse number 171,
03:46where it says,
03:47Don't say Trinity.
03:49This is top, it's better for you.
03:53So Quran says,
03:54Don't say Trinity.
03:57And the same message is repeated in Surah Maidah,
03:59chapter number 5, verse number 73.
04:01It says,
04:02Those who say that God is three in one.
04:09So the word Trinity appears in the Quran twice,
04:13and both the places it says,
04:15it is wrong to use the word Trinity.
04:17And in the Quran,
04:18it is mentioned that don't say Trinity,
04:21but the word Trinity doesn't exist in the Bible.
04:23The closest verse to Trinity in the Bible
04:25is the first epistle of John,
04:27chapter number 5,
04:28verse number 7,
04:29which says,
04:30For there are three that bear a court in heaven,
04:32the Father,
04:33the Son,
04:34and the Holy Spirit.
04:35And these three are one.
04:37So this verse,
04:38if you read the revised time version of the Bible,
04:41revised by Thaedu scholars of the highest eminence,
04:44Christian scholars,
04:44they say that this verse of 1st epistle of John,
04:49chapter number 5,
04:50verse number 7,
04:50is an interpolation,
04:52is a fabrication,
04:53is a concoction,
04:54and they have thrown this verse out of the Bible.
04:56So the verse in the Bible
04:57that was not talking directly about Trinity,
05:00but the closest to Trinity,
05:02is thrown out by the scholars of Christianity
05:04as a fabrication,
05:05as a concoction.
05:06So,
05:07but naturally the Spirit,
05:08and Almighty God,
05:10they are two different entities,
05:12they are not the same,
05:13and in the Quran,
05:14it talks about Archangel Gabriel,
05:16he is the angel of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
05:19Hope that answers the question,
05:20sister.
05:20Yes, brother.
05:22I would like to know your other two questions.
05:24Yeah,
05:25my third question is,
05:26which is related to Holy Spirit only,
05:29all the prophets,
05:31all the man of God,
05:32like Prophet Abraham,
05:34Prophet Isaac,
05:35and Prophet Moses,
05:37peace be upon them,
05:38all the prophets,
05:39they used to intercede with Allah.
05:42They used to interact with Allah,
05:44so to interact with Allah,
05:46because they are all the chosen ones,
05:49they must be gifted by some strength,
05:51it might be the grace of God,
05:53so it is a power,
05:54there is that some power,
05:57so that they are able to interact with Allah.
05:59So what is that power?
06:00So what is my understanding,
06:04I mean,
06:04what was my understanding all these days was,
06:08with the help of Holy Spirit,
06:10all the prophets were interceding with Allah.
06:14Is that true?
06:16Sister has the question,
06:17that the messengers of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
06:19intercede with Almighty God,
06:21then she said interaction with Almighty God.
06:24Sister,
06:25the English word intercede,
06:27and interaction are two different things.
06:29So is there a question,
06:30intercede or interaction?
06:31Intercede.
06:32Intercede means,
06:34that someone intercedes on somebody else's behalf.
06:39Someone intercedes on somebody else's behalf.
06:42Now this you have to realize,
06:45that when you speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
06:48Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not need anyone to intercede.
06:52The Quran says,
06:53in Surah Ghafir,
06:54chapter number 40,
06:55verse number 60,
06:56you ask me,
06:57and I will answer your prayer.
06:59Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not require anyone to intercede with Him.
07:04Why?
07:05And people give the example,
07:07that you know,
07:08when you go in a court of law,
07:10when you are presenting your case to the judge,
07:12you hire lawyers.
07:14So like that,
07:15the messengers of God are our lawyers.
07:18This is okay and logical for a judge who is a human being.
07:23Because the judge does not know,
07:25who is the criminal,
07:26who is the robber.
07:28So,
07:28the lawyer helps the judge to understand,
07:31who is a criminal,
07:32who is a robber,
07:33who is not.
07:34But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala hasilm-e-gayb.
07:38He does not require,
07:40anyone to prove to him,
07:42who is good,
07:43who is bad.
07:44So it is wrong to say intercede,
07:46yes.
07:47Someone can pray.
07:49A messenger can pray for other human beings.
07:53And Allah says in the Quran,
07:54that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
07:56does not require any intercession,
07:59except who He wills on the day of judgment.
08:02So on the day of judgment,
08:03Allah says,
08:04He will give permission,
08:05to certain people to intercede.
08:10And this,
08:11there are hadiths saying,
08:13that this special favor,
08:15will be given to Prophet Muhammad,
08:16peace be upon him.
08:17So what we know from the history,
08:19of all the other scriptures,
08:20as well as the Quran,
08:21as well as the hadith,
08:23that,
08:24the messengers of God,
08:25they interacted with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
08:27They prayed for others.
08:29But,
08:30if we use the Prophet to intercede,
08:35that means if I pray,
08:37that if I go through this Prophet,
08:39following the commandments of Prophet,
08:41is good.
08:42But if I pray to somebody else,
08:44besides Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
08:46that's what many of the human beings do.
08:49They pray to human beings,
08:50saying they are closer to Almighty God.
08:52So if we pray through Him,
08:55God will accept our prayer,
08:57faster and better.
08:59This is wrong.
09:00We have to pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala directly.
09:02These Prophets of God,
09:04they are messengers.
09:05Yes,
09:06they have special powers.
09:08They have special powers.
09:09They can speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
09:12And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
09:14chooses certain men,
09:16amongst men,
09:18chooses certain men,
09:19to communicate His message,
09:21to the other human beings.
09:23These chosen people,
09:25of Almighty God,
09:26we call as Prophets,
09:27or we call as messengers of God.
09:30So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
09:31selects certain human beings,
09:34in the world,
09:35to communicate His message,
09:37to the other human beings.
09:38These are called as messengers of God.
09:40So there is communication,
09:41between the messenger,
09:42and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
09:43But that does not mean,
09:45that human beings can use these messengers to intercede.
09:49That if they pray to these messengers,
09:52Almighty God will listen to us.
09:54This is the teaching of the church.
09:56That you believe in Jesus,
09:57peace be upon Him,
09:59and all your sins will be forgiven.
10:01This concept doesn't exist in Islam,
10:03and doesn't exist even in true Christianity.
10:05It is the teaching of the church, sister.
10:07Hope that answers the question.
10:08Yeah, my final question is,
10:14in New Testament,
10:16I mean, in one book,
10:18Book of Acts,
10:19Paul mentioned about tongues.
10:22What do you say about tongues in New Testament?
10:25I mean, according to Islam,
10:27is that it's totally eliminated,
10:29it's not there,
10:30or the gift of tongues existed at that time?
10:35Sister asked the question,
10:37that Paul said about tongues.
10:39If you give me the reference,
10:40I'll be in a better position.
10:41There are many things mentioned in the Bible about tongues.
10:44There are many verses in the Quran which speak about tongues.
10:47If you give me the reference what you're talking about,
10:49I'll be in a better position to reply to you.
10:51But generally,
10:53there are many statements in the Bible talking about tongues.
10:57And also says,
10:59if you read the Gospel,
11:01if you read the Gospel of Mark,
11:02it says that anyone who is a believer,
11:06he will be able to understand foreign tongues
11:09and speak foreign tongues.
11:12That means if you are a believer in God,
11:15then you can understand foreign languages
11:17and you can speak foreign languages.
11:20So that's what I did when I had a debate
11:21with Dr. William Campbell.
11:22I gave him a 100 rupee note.
11:25And the Indian 100 rupee note,
11:26as you may be aware,
11:28since we have got 22 official languages,
11:30I read in English 100 rupee.
11:33Hindi says 100 rupee.
11:35I asked him to read the other 20 languages,
11:37if he's a believer.
11:39And he could not.
11:43There are many references in the Quran talking about tongues.
11:47If you read the Quran,
11:48the Quran says in Surah Rum,
11:51chapter number 30,
11:52verse number 22,
11:53that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
11:55has created the human beings
11:57in different colors and tongues
11:59so that you should recognize each other.
12:02So that the men of understanding will understand.
12:05Furthermore,
12:06the Quran says that on the day of judgment,
12:09your tongues,
12:11your organs,
12:12your hands,
12:12they will be witness for you.
12:14What you did right,
12:16what you did wrong.
12:17There are various hadiths of the Prophet talking about the tongue.
12:20So there are many references in the Quran talking about the tongue.
12:23There are many references in the Bible
12:25that talk about tongue
12:27and how to test a believer.
12:30Hope that answers the question, sister.
12:33And my final question.
12:34Okay, I have a Muslim friend
12:38and he suggested me
12:39to read Bible Old Testament.
12:43He specifically mentioned to
12:44follow,
12:45go through the Old Testament in Bible
12:47and then he said read Quran.
12:50But as you mentioned specifically,
12:53you know,
12:53that Quran is the final revelation
12:56given by Allah.
12:58So as a Muslim,
13:00what do you suggest to me?
13:02Because my friend,
13:03being a Muslim,
13:04he said,
13:05follow Bible Old Testament
13:06and then read Quran.
13:08So...
13:08Sister,
13:09the question that one of her friends told her
13:11that first read the Old Testament
13:12then read the Quran.
13:14Sister,
13:14it's not the must.
13:15If there is something like the Old Testament
13:17and the New Testament,
13:18then there's something like the Last Testament
13:20and the Quran.
13:20So when the Christians say
13:24Old and New Testament,
13:25this is the last and final test
13:27of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
13:29Now,
13:29I'm asking you the question.
13:31Suppose you have different versions
13:33and editions of a book.
13:35For example,
13:35you have gone to a medical college.
13:37I was at a medical college,
13:38you know,
13:39Prophet Keith Moore wrote some books
13:41and his book had first edition,
13:43second edition,
13:44third edition.
13:45So would you read the first edition
13:46or the latest edition?
13:49Of course.
13:49I'll go for the latest.
13:51Correct.
13:51Yes.
13:52If you really love the first edition,
13:54you know,
13:54I'm a fan of the first edition,
13:56then I say,
13:56no problem,
13:57read the first edition,
13:58then read the last edition.
14:00So if you are so much hooked on
14:02to the Old Testament
14:03and you know,
14:04your Old Testament is close to your heart,
14:06then the Quran says in
14:07Suleyumran chapter 3 verse 64,
14:09Ta'ala hu ilaha kalimatin
14:10sawaim baina baina kum.
14:11Come to common terms,
14:13I have been us in you.
14:14Then I would say that
14:14if you are so much hooked on
14:16to the Old Testament,
14:16no problem,
14:17read the Old Testament,
14:18then read the Quran,
14:19at least agree what is common.
14:22And when we read the Old Testament,
14:24New Testament and the Quran,
14:25we come to know
14:26that the thing that is common
14:27in these scriptures
14:28is that there is one God
14:30and He deserves to be worshipped.
14:34He has got no image.
14:35He is not begotten.
14:36It further says that Jesus
14:38cast peace be upon him is not God.
14:40And both the scriptures say
14:42that the last and final messengers
14:44prophet Muhammad
14:44peace be upon him.
14:47So sister,
14:49now are you prepared
14:50to accept Islam?
14:50Of course, yes.
14:52Of course, yes.
14:53Sister, do you believe
14:59that there is one God?
15:01Yes, I believe
15:02there is only one God.
15:04Do you believe
15:04that Jesus is not God
15:05but he is a messenger of God?
15:07Yes,
15:07I believe Jesus
15:08is a messenger.
15:09Do you believe
15:10prophet Muhammad
15:11is the last and final messenger?
15:12Yes,
15:13I believe prophet Muhammad
15:14is the last
15:15and the final messenger.
15:16Sister,
15:19is there anyone
15:20forcing you
15:21to accept Islam?
15:22Sorry?
15:23Is there anyone
15:24forcing you
15:24to accept Islam?
15:25No, nobody is forcing you.
15:27Are you accepting
15:28out of your free will?
15:29Yes.
15:30Because in Islam,
15:32to force anyone
15:32to accept Islam
15:33is haram.
15:34It's haram
15:35in the religion
15:37and it's haram
15:38it's prohibited
15:39in most of the countries
15:39I believe
15:40even in Dubai.
15:41To force anyone
15:42to accept a religion
15:43is forbidden.
15:44So you are accepting
15:45out of your free will, sister.
15:46Yes,
15:47that is the reason
15:48I asked you many questions.
15:49Mashallah.
15:50Out of free will.
15:51I hope
15:52I hope no one
15:53is bribing you.
15:55No.
15:55You know,
15:55because in India
15:56when after many people
15:59accept Islam
15:59the CID,
16:01the police go there
16:01and ask how much dollars
16:02Dr. Zakina give you.
16:07I tell them
16:08I have given them
16:08currency of the Akhira.
16:11Currency of the Akhira
16:12and that's accepted.
16:13So inshallah,
16:14sister,
16:14I will say in Arabic
16:15and you can repeat it.
16:16Okay.
16:19Ashadu
16:19Ashadu
16:20Allah
16:21Allah
16:22Ilaha
16:22Ilaha
16:23Ilalla
16:24Ilalla
16:25Wa Ashadu
16:26Wahashadu
16:27Anna
16:28Anna
16:29Muhammadan
16:30Muhammadan
16:31Abduhu
16:31Abduhu
16:33Varusuluhu
16:34Varusulu
16:35I bear witness
16:37I bear witness
16:37I bear witness
16:39that
16:40there is no God
16:43that there is no God
16:45but Allah
16:46but Allah
16:47and I bear witness
16:49and I bear witness
16:49and I bear witness
16:51that
16:51that
16:52Prophet Muhammad
16:53Prophet Muhammad
16:54is the messenger
16:55is the messenger
16:57and servant of Allah
16:58and servant of Allah
17:00Mashallah
17:01sister
17:01you are a Muslim
17:02and may Allah
17:03subhanahu wa ta'ala
17:04accept your effort
17:05and I pray to Allah
17:08subhanahu wa ta'ala
17:09that you guide you further
17:11and inshallah
17:12give you the best in this world
17:13as well as Akhira
17:14and grant you a place in paradise
17:16inshallah sister
