00:00Police are hunting for four individuals who allegedly extorted a family during a terrifying

00:06encounter near the Tapa Rest and Restoration R&R area along the North-South Expressway

00:12on Wednesday.

00:13Perak Deputy Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Mohamed Azlin Sadari said the incident began

00:20when the 60-year-old victim, who was driving an MPV, overtook a lorry near the menorah

00:25tunnel.

00:26It's believed that the move angered the suspects, who then followed the family's vehicle all

00:31the way to the Tapa R&R.

00:33At the R&R, two men and two women confronted the family, accusing the driver of causing

00:39their child to fall inside their car before demanding compensation.

00:44The victim eventually handed over 180 ringgit in cash before leaving the scene.

00:49Police investigations later revealed that one of the vehicles involved was registered to

00:54a woman from Terengganu, while another belonged to a company based in Johor.

00:59The case is being investigated under Section 384 of the Penal Code for Extortion.

01:05A six-minute video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, showing a car blocking
