Relatives of a Las Cuevas fisherman say they are certain 22-year-old Chad "Charpo" Joseph was among six people killed in a US air strike off the coast of Venezuela this week — even though no official confirmation has been given. Here's more in this report

00:10The family of 26-year-old Chad Joseph says they have no doubt that he was killed

00:15when the U.S. launched an airstrike on a boat off Venezuela's coast on Tuesday.

00:21The U.S. has described the operation as part of an anti-narcotics campaign,

00:25but relatives in Las Quavers say Joseph had nothing to do with drugs.

00:46Officia Clements says the family first saw reports of the attack online.

00:51She says they later confirmed Joseph's identity from a night vision video circulating on social media.

01:09Clements says Joseph was a fisherman all his life.

01:13She says he traveled to Venezuela six months ago to work in agriculture after struggling to find work at home.

01:20The child went down there to cultivate land because Trinidad have no work.

01:25He went down there to do work and he was here for six months.

01:29He was fed up for that because the pay that said he was getting, he was not getting.

01:33So he wanted to come home.

01:36He had a boat coming, he had a carriage with his Spanish on them.

01:40Clements says Joseph messaged his wife before leaving Venezuela,

01:44saying he was returning home by boat and was expected to arrive the next day.

01:49He said her boat is coming, he has gone on the boat.

01:53He didn't say specific who was the owner of the boat, who was driving the boat with me.
