00:16Greetings, colleagues of Telesur. I am at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here in the Chinese capital,
00:22where following a press conference in the hall, the government spokesperson responded to a question from Telesur
00:30regarding the recent events in the Caribbean Sea, including the United States' attack on a Venezuelan vessel
00:39and the deployment of warships and a nuclear submarine in the region.
00:44The spokesperson reaffirmed China's position on the unilateral actions,
00:50stressing the need to respect state sovereignty and the central role of the Security Council
00:57in authorizing any use of force. Let's hear his response.
01:10China opposes the use or threat of using force in international relations
01:14and rejects any interference in Venezuela's internal affairs by external forces under any pretext.
01:19China supports the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace,
01:24the declaration of the 33 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on establishing a nuclear weapons-free zone
01:30and opposes any actions that undermine the peace and stability of Latin America and the Caribbean.
01:35China consistently supports enhanced international cooperation to combat transnational crime
01:40and opposes the U.S. unilateral so-called law enforcement actions against vessels of other countries
01:45that exceed reasonable and necessary limits.
01:47China urges the U.S. to engage in normal law enforcement and judicial cooperation
01:52through relevant bilateral and multilateral legal frameworks.
01:54The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that any escalation in the region
02:00posed a threat to the stability of Latin America and urged the United States to cease its provocation.
02:08China maintained its stance in defense of the multilateralism in the peaceful resolution of the conflicts,
02:16supporting Venezuela's sovereignty against any attempt of external intervention.
