00:22In Shanghai, during the third academic forum of the Global South, with the participation of more than 250 specialists from 21 countries,
00:34international solidarity with the struggle of the Venezuelan people and government was reinforced.
00:39The prominent Indian intellectual and director of the Trin Continental Institute, Vijay Prashad,
00:47spoke about the false accusation made by the United States seeking to justify a possible military intervention in Venezuela.

01:48emphasizes the importance of strengthening collaboration and unity among media outlets in China and Venezuela,
01:56as well as in Latin America, in the struggle for fairer and more sovereignty communication.
02:02We hope to unite the Global South, especially Latin America, because the region has the deepest history in practice of anti-colonial struggle and has achieved great victories.
02:16We want to work with Latin America to promote a new order of information dissemination in the 21st century,
02:21breaking the hegemony of Western discourse, knowledge and historical narratives.
02:26I hope that Telesur, Chinese media, and the Chinese people can establish more organic connections,
02:31jointly promoting the 21st century global information and knowledge dissemination order I mentioned,
02:37building an academic community in the Global South,
02:39and strengthening the friendship between the peoples of China and Latin America.
02:43Chinese universities are among the best in the world today.
02:47Peking University is one of them,
02:49and its academic community has shown great solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution,
02:55as in the case with the Philippine researcher Anna Rosario,
03:00a professor of political science and international relations.
03:04They want Maduro out because they cannot control him.
03:07And as you can see, Venezuela is one of the top suppliers of oil, especially petroleum,
03:14and also it has a lot of natural resources that the United States is interested,
03:19and they want to have a take on it and to control it.
03:22However, the problem is they cannot control Maduro,
03:25and Maduro is not a puppet of the United States.
03:27Support for Venezuela continues to arrive from across the global south,
03:32showing that, in addition to not being alone,
03:35Venezuela is a beacon of hope for the peoples of the world.
