Wet weather is causing a wide variety of impacts across the landscape of California.

00:00We do still have plenty of alerts out. Here's everything on the map. So for Los Angeles,
00:06not the entire city, but eastern parts of especially Los Angeles County, we do have that
00:12aerial flood watch in effect, or actually that's a flash flood watch. Watch the other shade of
00:16green here. That's our aerial flood watch. And up into the Sierra, we have alert layered on top of
00:22alert and alert. So we have winter storm warnings. We have winter weather advisories. We have freeze
00:26warnings. You name it, it's there. Basically telling you heavy rainfall that can lead to
00:31flash flooding in that terrain, but then also snow when we get to those higher elevations that is
00:36accumulating, leading to even Donner Pass. We've been seeing some difficult conditions there.
00:40Mammoth Mountain in California, you're seeing video right from the right-hand side of your screen.
00:44Oh, it's that time of year. People are having to break out the shovels, break out the windshield
00:48scraper, which I did at one point hear someone selling those, call them a windshield broom,
00:54which I had never heard before, but whatever term you want to use. Let's talk about the impacts that
00:58we have seen. Now, I want to zero in on the flash flooding because this is a storm. We had the snow,
01:02we've had damaging wind gusts, we've had flash flooding. I just can't talk about it all at once.
01:06So separating it out, we'll talk about the wind in the next half hour, but flash flooding reports
01:10into the Los Angeles area. A lot of roadways flooded here. Now, one of these reports, and this is
01:16finding a needle in a haystack. I'm not sure I can do it. One of these reports talks about the
01:21ceiling, the roof of a movie studio collapsing and damaging some of the equipment inside because
01:27of heavy rainfall. Thankfully, it did not report any injuries. We get into the higher terrain,
01:31though, and we're talking about road closures, even a roadway washed out east of Bakersfield here
01:37into that higher elevation, into that terrain. So just keep in mind some big impacts here. If you're
01:42going to be out and about driving, you want to make sure you are taking precautions, you are being
01:46careful. And if you come across a flooded roadway, turn around, don't drown. It is something we say
01:52all the time for a reason. We talked about this in the Northeast yesterday. Officials say, you know,
01:57it puts them in danger when they have to come perform water rescue. You just don't want to risk
02:01anybody's safety, including your own. Now, we haven't seen widespread travel impacts in California
02:07at this point, but things are moving inland, Damian. That's right. And as we look at the latest here,
02:12we've seen some strong winds here in Vegas. And this time of year, we normally do see some flight
02:16disruptions in Las Vegas because of stronger winds. And that's what's happening here for today.
