00:00Hello, Shalom! Welcome back, brothers and sisters, to another episode. Today I want
00:07to talk about the writing on the wall. Yes, writing on the wall. The story is,
00:14Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar's son, Belshazzar, is king, and he's having a feast, a feast
00:24of some sort. And something scares him when he sees a hand come out of nowhere and start
00:30writing on the wall. I'm going to read this story to you right out of the Bible, right
00:35out of Daniel. And it starts in chapter 5. I'm going to read this story. You get your
00:42Bible out, you know, check up on me, follow along, or just put it down as a note and study
00:50it later. It's chapter 5. It's the feast of Belshazzar. Belshazzar, the king, made a great
00:58feast to a thousand of his princes and drank wine before the thousand. So there's a thousand
01:04people. There's a lot of people there. Belshazzar, whilst he tasted the wine, commanded to bring
01:12the gold and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which
01:19was in Jerusalem, that the king and his princes, his wives, and his concubines might drink of
01:25them. Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house
01:32of Elah, which was at Jerusalem, and the king and his princes, wives, and concubines drank
01:38in them. They drank wine and praised the mighty ones of gold and silver and brass and iron and
01:47gold and stone. So these false pagan gods are who they were given thanks to. In the same
01:55hour came forth fingers of a man's hand and wrote over against the candlestick upon the
02:02plaster of the wall of the king's palace. And the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
02:09Then the king's attitude basically changed and his thoughts troubled him so that the joints
02:21of his loins were loosened and his knees smote one against the other. He shook in fear. He was
02:27really terrified of what he saw. The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans,
02:35and the soothsayers. Then the king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall
02:41read this writing and show me the interpretation thereof shall be clothed with scarlet and have
02:48a chain of gold about his neck and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom. Then came in all the
02:57king's wise men, but they could not read the writing nor make known to the king the interpretation
03:03thereof. Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled and his attitude was changed in him and his
03:15princes were astonished. Now the queen by reason of the words of the king and his princess came
03:22into the banquet house and the queen spoke and said, O king, live forever. Let not thy thoughts
03:27trouble thee, nor thy attitude be changed. There is a man in thy kingdom whom is the spirit of the
03:36mighty ones and in the days of the father light and understanding the wisdom like the wisdom like
03:44the wisdom of the mighty ones was found in him whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father's father of the king
03:50I say thy father made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans and the soothsayers. For as much as the
03:59excellent spirit of the knowledge and understanding interpreting of the dreams and showing of hard
04:05sentences and dissolving of doubts were found in the same Daniel whom the king named Belshazzar. Now let Daniel be
04:18called and he will show the interpretation. So thankfully she remembered Daniel from the
04:25you know from Nebuchadnezzar's dreams and and he was a he was a head of the magicians, astrologers and
04:35everything. He was uh he was the number one, the chief and uh they called up they called upon Daniel.
04:41Then was Daniel brought in before the king and the king spoke and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel
04:48which art of the children of the captivity of Judah whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?
04:57I have even heard of thee that the spirit of the mighty ones is in thee and that light and
05:03understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee. And now the wise men and astrologers have been
05:09brought in before me that they should read this writing and make known unto me the interpretation
05:16thereof. But they could not show the interpretation of the thing. And I have heard of thee that thou canst
05:27make interpretations and dissolve doubts. Now thou canst read the writing and make known to me the
05:33interpretation thereof. Then Daniel answered and said before the king, let thy gifts be to thyself and give
05:49thy rewards to another. Yet I will read the writing unto the king and make known to him the interpretation.
05:55O thou king, the most high, Eli gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father's a kingdom and majesty and glory and honor.
06:05And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, languages trembled and feared before him
06:13whom he would, he slew and whom he would, he kept alive and whom he would set up and who he would put,
06:21put down. But when his heart was lifted up and his mind hardened his pride and pride, he was disposed
06:30from this kingly throne and he took his glory from him. And he has driven from the sons of men and
06:38his heart was made like the beasts and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. They fed him with grass
06:45like oxen and his body and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till he knew that the most high
06:51Elah ruled in the kingdom of men and that he appointed over it whomever he will. And thou his son,
07:00O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all these things,
07:07but hast lifted up thyself against the master of heaven and and they have brought the vessels of
07:15his house before thee and thou and the print thy princes and wives and concubines have drunk wine
07:21in them and thou hast praised the mighty ones of silver and gold and brass iron wood and stone
07:27which see not nor hear not nor know. And the Elah of those lands that breathe is whose are all thy ways
07:39hast thou not glorified. So Daniel's saying that Yahweh's upset because they didn't glorify him.
07:46They glorified the pagan gods, you know, of the golds, the ones that they don't know anything.
07:52They're dumb, dumb idols. They don't have thoughts. They're inanimate objects. They're not alive.
08:00Then was the part of thy hand sent from him and this writing was written. And this is the writing
08:10that was written. Many, many, tekel, a parson. This is the interpretation of the thing. Many,
08:21Allah has numbered thy kingdom and finished it. So it's the kingdom has been numbered and it is
08:30finished. You know, his, his fate is, his fate is sealed, numbered. Tekel, thou art weight in the
08:37balances and found wanting. Perez, the kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and the Persians.
08:46Just like, uh, when Nebuchadnezzar had the dream is talking about the four world ruling kingdoms,
08:53what it says, you know, it's expanded. Now it's starting to twist where Babylon is, is going to,
09:01is no more. And the Medes and the Persians are going to invade. They're going to be the second
09:06stage of the world power. Then commanded Belshazzar. He closed Daniel with scarlet and put chain on his
09:13of gold around his neck and made proclamation concerning him that he should be the third
09:19ruler of the kingdom. But that night was Belshazzar, the king of the Chaldean slain.
09:27And Darius, the Median took the kingdom being about threescore and two years old. So basically in a,
09:34in a blink of an eye after this, the Medes come in and conquered and overthrew the Babylonian, uh,
09:42domination. Darius come in with his forces, killed the king of Babylon and took over.
09:51And, uh, it just happened that swiftly. And that was the writing on the wall.
09:56And, uh, it's kind of, kind of ironic, you know, that Yahweh let, you know, gave, gave Babylon time
10:05to hear this message from Daniel to interpret it before, before the Medes and the Persians come in
10:13and took them out. So then, then of course, you know, Darius, the Median, then he had Cyrus the
10:20Great, the other ruler, he come in and he's the one that freed the Jews from the captivity and gave
10:27them a choice. They wanted to stay where they were at, or they want to go back, build, rebuild the
10:33temple and live there under a, under a vassal state, of course, you know, and the Jews are greatly
10:39pleased. And a small minority of Jews went back and started building a temple. And to this day,
10:45you know, they consider Cyrus a hero and a liberator, but that was the fate of Belshazzar and Babylon.
10:54But, you know, of course, in our studies, you know, Babylon isn't really dead. The spirit of Babylon
11:00lives on even today. And it's talked about even in Revelations for the end times, the spirit of
11:07Babylon, you know, but I just thought this was an important subject to read, you know, read and study
11:13with you guys. You know, like I said, you know, when you have time to study, study the scriptures here,
11:19the topic of it. It's, it's an inspiring story. And it's just too bad that the Babylonians
11:24messed up like they did. And, uh, after all, we're all human, I guess. And, uh, anyways, with that said
11:33and done, thank you again for tuning in and, uh, please like my videos, watch my other videos if you
