The McLaren Project Endurance hypercar was unveiled at an exclusive private showcase during Monterey Car Week, a collaboration between McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive. This program represents McLaren's ambitious campaign to win the coveted Triple Crown of Motorsport—the Indianapolis 500, the Monaco Grand Prix, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans—in a single season, with the competitive debut scheduled for the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

This is not just a car; it is a $1 million+ customer partnership offering up to 35 select individuals the chance to own an authentic Le Mans Hypercar and be at the heart of the development program. Customers receive unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to testing, professional driver coaching, individual pit crew support, and an inclusive two-year track program on world-famous circuits. The model shown features a special livery paying homage to the team's first Triple Crown win with Johnny Rutherford in the 1974 Indy 500, including the "Lone Star JR" livery and the race number 3.

The excitement for Project Endurance is being driven by the McLaren 750S, the current ultimate road car. The 750S Spider delivers 740 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque from its twin-turbo V8 powertrain, carrying a base price around $345,000. Its highly praised performance and hydraulic steering make it the perfect road anchor for McLaren's renewed focus on its racing heritage. This holistic strategy ensures that the brand's luxury supercar sales directly fuel its future motorsport ambitions, allowing a truly exclusive few to buy a piece of racing history.

00:00One of the most magical experiences at Monterey Car Week is to receive an exclusive invitation
00:05to go to an undisclosed location and get a sneak peek at one of the most incredible
00:10automotive experiences on earth.
00:12We are at Chateau McLaren, right outside of Monterey, California.
00:21McLaren is a supercar, hypercar brand known for F1 racing, Indy racing.
00:26It is a brand that has achieved the ultimate, the Triple Crown.
00:30A win at the Indy 500, a win at Monaco, and a win at Le Mans.
00:35For 2027, McLaren has its eyes solely focused on winning the Triple Crown again.
00:43How are they going to get there?
00:44They're going to get there with the car that you see behind me.
00:48This is Project Endurance.
00:50Project Endurance is a collaboration between McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive.
00:55But what makes Project Endurance so special is the opportunity that it offers to up to
01:0035 very lucky people who get to buy one of these cars, as well as be on the front lines
01:06of the development of McLaren's next era of racing.
01:11McLaren has introduced this as a holistic experience that not only includes the car and behind the
01:16scenes with the developers, the drivers, and the entire racing team.
01:21Once you're able to take this car home, you can set it up to drive on a number of international
01:26tracks.
01:27It's a two-year track package that will allow you to truly learn to drive this car just
01:32like the race car drivers do at Le Mans.
01:37The model that McLaren showed here in Monterey is a one-to-one scale model of the Project Endurance
01:43Hypercar.
01:44The car actually hasn't even been named yet, but there are a few key details that we see
01:48on this model.
01:50The number three signifies the number of the McLaren that won the Indy 500 in 1974.
01:57It also carried heritage colors, McLaren orange and dark blue.
02:02The star is a nod to the driver who won that Indy 500, Johnny Rutherford, who was from Texas.
02:09Another fun little Easter egg that you'll see is the Zippy Kiwi.
02:13That's a nod to the founder of McLaren, Bruce McLaren, who was a Kiwi.
02:17Part of the road to Project Endurance are these two cars right here behind me.
02:21These are the McLaren 750S, the Spyder Convertible here, and the Coupe here.
02:28These cars are going to go the distance from Southern California to Miami, but they'll be
02:31making stops along the way where fans can gather as they make their more than 3,000-mile drive.
02:38When they arrive in Miami, it will be quite the celebration and quite the kickoff for Project
02:43Endurance.
02:44The 750S was introduced in 2024, and it might be the ultimate McLaren you can buy right now.
02:50It delivers 740 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbo V8 mid-engine
02:56powertrain.
02:57It has hydraulic steering, and it has better braking than the outgoing model, the 720.
03:03The 750S launched in 2024 and carries a price tag of $343,000 for the Coupe and $364,000
03:12for the Spyder.
03:13The average price of this car, though, is closer to $424,000.
03:19It's one thing to be a fan of motorsports.
03:21It's another thing to be a fan of a particular brand of motorsports.
03:25But it is an entirely different thing, truly exclusive and truly indulgent to be part of
03:31the team that develops the next winner of the Triple Crown of racing.
03:37The price tag on this is going to be north of a million dollars, but that does include
03:41everything, the car and all the experiences.
03:44To have a hand in the cars that race on the track and to be able to take one of them home
03:49with you is a truly exclusive experience.
