00:01Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on Friday to propose new steps to end Russia's war on his country.
00:10The summit comes as Trump shifts his focus to Ukraine after the first phase of his Gaza ceasefire deal sold the release of 20 Israeli hostages held by Hamas and the return of nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
00:23Zelenskyy said the meeting's main focus is securing air defense and long-range capabilities to pressure Russia into peace.
00:30This will likely include Ukraine's request to tomahawk cruise missiles, which have a range of up to 2,500 kilometers.
00:38The Kremlin has called the topic of tomahawks one of, quote, extreme concerns.
00:43In a speech in Israel on Monday, Trump said that after Gaza, we have to get Russia done, highlighting what he calls a peace-through-strength approach.
