From regional unity to global influence: Turkic nations set bold vision in Azerbaijan

00:30The 12th Presidential Summit of the Organization of Turkey Countries gathered the heads of member states, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the observer countries Turkmenistan and Hungary.
00:42The Organization of Turkic States has long grown out of its original mandate to help cultural cooperation between nations speaking Turkic languages.
00:50Over time, it grew to facilitate as many as 40 different aspects of cooperation between Turkic states, from infrastructure and trade through water management and even space exploration.
01:02Azerbaijan, hosting the summit in the ancient and touristic city of Gabala, proposed the topic of defense cooperation that had not often been discussed.
01:10This summit is calling the member countries to combine their efforts in the field of peace and security and also combine their joint efforts towards increasing and strengthening their defense industries and bringing together civil emergency organizations and also possibly to organize joint military training and exercises.
01:31Again, these member countries are also surrounded with new hotspots of the conflicts around the world.
01:37Security is a must and number one priority for everybody.
01:40But the summits of the Organization of Turkey Countries are never about one topic.

02:43A few days ago, the president of our country expressed the idea, not idea, but the target for Kazakhstan to be the digital state.
02:51And we provided the national forum devoted to artificial intelligence and we created intelligence that we call it RMI, that we just started to work with the first supercomputer in Central Asia.
03:07And we invited our partners by the Turkic Council to use these opportunities to join our efforts to get much more results from the digitalization of our countries.
03:19Hungary, as an observer country, hosted the previous informal meeting of the leaders and testifies to the fact that OTS Plus is an idea for other countries to consider.
03:28Hungary has taken a lot of benefit out of this very tight cooperation between Hungary and the Turkic countries.
03:35You know, we put a lot of emphasis on the success of our diversification efforts.
03:41And in this regard, Turkey is one of our important suppliers of natural gas plus a very important transit route.
03:48In Azerbaijan, Hungarian energy companies are co-shareholders in the biggest oil and gas fields.
03:55We are buying big time oil from Kazakhstan.
03:59We are working together with Uzbekistan on nuclear energy and with Kyrgyzstan on hydro energy.
04:03In the end, the president of Turkey, the largest economy in the bloc, summed up the summit of nations he refers to as his family.
04:11The Gabala declaration is 14 pages long and contains 121 points.
04:40It says the parties are discussing cooperation in a wide range of areas, from economic, trade and investment,
04:47with an emphasis on developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, to border security and cyber security.
