US President Donald Trump has issued a stark ultimatum to Russia, demanding a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war by August 8 or face fresh sanctions. Calling the conflict one of the “easiest to resolve,” Trump urged Moscow to “stop killing people” and hinted at sending a US special envoy to help secure peace. The renewed pressure includes potential tariff hikes, signaling Washington’s urgency for an end to hostilities and rising casualties on both sides.

00:00:00And at the top of this hour, we're getting some breaking news.
00:00:02Donald Trump's big sanction threat to Russia.
00:00:05Trump says sanctions on Russia if no truce by August 8.
00:00:10Trump has also said that get a deal that stops killing people
00:00:14and U.S. Special Envoy may travel to Russia.
00:00:17Ceasefire must be reached by August 8.
00:00:20This is what U.S. President Donald Trump has told Russia
00:00:23that there will be sanctions on Russia if no truce by August 8.
00:00:28Remember, this comes amid the Russia-Ukraine war.
00:00:31Trump wants the war to stop.
00:00:33And hence, he has said that there will be sanctions on Russia
00:00:36if there's no truce between Russia and Ukraine by August 8.
00:00:40And U.S. Special Envoy may also travel to Russia for the same.
00:00:45And Trump has told Russia, get a deal that stops killing people.
00:00:54So, that's the latest update that is coming in.
00:00:57a renewed tariff threat by Donald Trump to Russia.
00:01:01Trump has said that there will be sanctions on Russia
00:01:03if no truce is reached by August 8.
00:01:07Trump has also said that get a deal that stops killing people.
00:01:11Remember, this comes amid the Russia-Ukraine war.
00:01:13Let's listen in to what Donald Trump said.
00:01:15Yeah, I get a deal where people stop getting killed.
00:01:20They had a number that just came out that a tremendous number of Russian soldiers are being killed.
00:01:27And likewise, Ukraine, a lower number, but still thousands and thousands of people.
00:01:32And now we're adding towns where they're being hit by missiles.
00:01:35So, it's a lot of people being killed in that ridiculous war.
00:01:39And, you know, we stopped a lot of countries from war, India and Pakistan.
00:01:46We stopped a lot of countries.
00:01:48And we're going to get that one stopped, too.
00:01:51Somehow we're going to get that one stopped.
00:01:53That's a really horrible...
00:01:55Well, you heard about Cambodia and Thailand.
00:01:59We got that one done.
00:02:01We got the Congo, which was going there for 31 years.
00:02:05Rwanda, that one's done.
00:02:09We stopped a lot of wars.
00:02:11This is the one we seem to be...
00:02:13This should be the easiest to stop, and it's not.
00:02:16And we have some more inputs coming in.
00:02:24Next on Trump's list is pharma tax crackdown.
00:02:27Donald Trump has said, and I quote,
00:02:28the next big move is going to be the price of drugs
00:02:31because you could buy something in London or in Germany someplace,
00:02:35sometimes one-tenth the price of what it costs to buy it in New York.
00:02:40We're not doing that anymore.
00:02:42So, this is what Donald Trump has said about drugs.
00:02:46So, next big thing on Donald Trump's list is pharma tax crackdown.
00:02:50He has mentioned that this is going to be the next big move.
00:02:53And he has also said that the price of drugs in London or in Germany
00:02:58is sometimes one-tenth the price of what it costs to buy it in New York.
00:03:07Because you could buy something in London or in Germany,
00:03:11someplace in Germany or many countries
00:03:14where it's one-tenth, one-third, one-fourth,
00:03:19but sometimes one-tenth the price of what it costs to buy it in New York or some other place.
00:03:25And we're not doing that anymore.
00:03:26We're not allowing that anymore.
00:03:27That started many years ago
00:03:29when people were asleep at the wheel in this country,
00:03:34and they allowed that to happen.
00:03:35And I'm stopping it.
00:03:36So, Donald Trump may lower the prices of drugs in United States.
00:03:41He has mentioned that that's the next big move on his list,
00:03:44which is the pharma tax crackdown.
00:03:46He has said that the drugs in London or in Germany
00:03:50are one-tenth the price of what it costs to buy in New York.
00:03:54And hence, Donald Trump's administration might lower the prices of drugs in United States as well.
00:04:06And we're getting some more inputs.
00:04:11Donald Trump slams India.
00:04:13Trump aid accuses India of funding Russia's war,
00:04:17says India-Russia oil deal funding war on Ukraine.
00:04:20Trump aid also said that not acceptable for India to continue deals.
00:04:26So, that's the latest attack.
00:04:28Trump aid has now slammed India
00:04:31and has accused India of funding the Russia-Ukraine war.
00:04:34The Trump aid has said that India-Russia oil deal is funding war on Ukraine.
00:04:40In fact, Trump aid has also said that it is not acceptable for India
00:04:44to continue the deal with Russia.
00:04:49So, U.S. has now slammed India.
00:04:51In fact, Trump aid has accused India of funding the Russia-Ukraine war.
00:04:55The Trump aid has mentioned about India-Russia oil deal
00:04:58and has, in fact, claimed that it is the India-Russia oil deal
00:05:03that is funding the war on Ukraine.
00:05:06And the Trump aid has also said that it is not acceptable for India
00:05:10to continue the deal which funds war on Ukraine.
00:05:14This is what the Trump aid has claimed.
00:05:16What he said very clearly is that it is not acceptable for India
00:05:25to continue financing this war by purchasing the oil from Russia.
00:05:30People will be shocked to learn that India
00:05:31is basically tied with China in purchasing Russian oil.
00:05:36That's an astonishing fact.
00:05:38India portrays itself as being one of our closest friends in the world,
00:05:41but they don't accept our products.
00:05:44So, President Trump, he wants a tremendous relationship
00:05:47and has had always a tremendous relationship
00:05:49with India and the Prime Minister,
00:05:51but we need to get real about dealing with the financing of this war.
00:05:55So, President Trump, all options are on the table
00:05:57to deal diplomatically, financially, and otherwise
00:06:00with the ongoing war in Ukraine
00:06:02so we can achieve peace and end the war
00:06:05that the Democrat Party and Joe Biden are responsible for.
00:06:09And India Today Global's Praneh Upadhyay
00:06:11is now joining us with more details.
00:06:13Praneh, after Donald Trump's tweet about India-Russia oil deal
00:06:18and now Trump aid has accused India
00:06:21of funding the Russia-Ukraine war
00:06:23through this oil deal with Russia.
00:06:27Good morning, Anjali.
00:06:28And you're absolutely right.
00:06:29Stephen Miller, who is the Deputy Chief of Staff
00:06:32for President Donald Trump, he has said,
00:06:34and you heard him saying that on one side he said
00:06:38that India is one of the closest allies the U.S. has
00:06:42and both the leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
00:06:45and President Donald Trump, has tremendous relationship.
00:06:48But the expectation that India shouldn't be buying oil from Russia,
00:06:53this is not a new thing.
00:06:54Even the previous Biden administration
00:06:57also expressed similar expectations
00:06:58and now President Donald Trump is continuing with that expectation
00:07:03that India shouldn't be buying oil from Russia.
00:07:05But on the other side,
00:07:07India has made it clear umpteen times
00:07:09that it is the national interest
00:07:11which is driving India's oil purchase decision
00:07:13because India is one of the most populous country on the planet
00:07:17and we have huge energy requirements
00:07:20and we need to source our, you know, energy or oil purchases
00:07:25because India's daily oil requirement
00:07:29or daily oil purchase is around 52 lakh barrels.
00:07:32And out of that, we try and diversify our oil purchases
00:07:37from various sources, right from Gulf to America
00:07:40to Nigeria to Africa, country of Nigeria
00:07:44and various other countries.
00:07:46And since we were getting Russian oil at a cheap price
00:07:50and that's why we bought from Russia
00:07:53and many other countries
00:07:54because, you know, that oil we purchase from Russia
00:07:57gets refined in India
00:07:59and many of the other countries also buy that refined oil.
00:08:02So, it's basically that oil
00:08:05is not only being used by India
00:08:07but also by the other countries
00:08:09and the energy supply of Russia
00:08:13or the Russian oil
00:08:15not only ensuring the energy supply in India
00:08:18but also, you know, fueling
00:08:19or also ensuring the energy supply
00:08:21in many of the European countries as well.
00:08:24So, clearly, this is a point of contention.
00:08:28Recently, when President Donald Trump expressed this expectation,
00:08:31the Ministry of External Affairs
00:08:32has clearly said that India is not going to halt
00:08:37or has not halted the oil purchase from Russia
00:08:41which was, you know, this impression was given by certain reports
00:08:45and then President Donald Trump also expressed his opinion about that
00:08:50and he welcomed this decision and so-called
00:08:52but the Government of India has, you know,
00:08:55clarified this position
00:08:56that, you know, India has not stopped buying oil from Russia.
00:09:01So, this remains a point of contention, I think.
00:09:04All right. Pranay, thank you so much for all those details
00:09:06and for that context.
00:09:07With that, we're now shifting focus.
00:09:23The Rao over Tejasvi Yadav's voter ID cards
00:09:26is snowballing ahead of the Bihar elections.
00:09:28After the RJD leader claimed that despite holding a valid voter ID,
00:09:33his name had been removed from the voter list,
00:09:35the Election Commission has asked him to hand over the said card
00:09:38to back his claim.
00:09:40The Election Commission has stated that the epic number in question
00:09:43does not appear to have been officially issued.
00:09:45According to the Election Commission,
00:09:47while Tejasvi's name is still present in the draft rolls
00:09:49with an epic number that he has earlier used,
00:09:52the second epic number shown by the leader
00:09:54has no records and is likely fake.
00:09:57The BJP has hit out at Tejasvi Yadav,
00:09:59saying that he is holding two epic cards,
00:10:01which is a criminal offence,
00:10:03and an FIR must be filed immediately.
00:10:05The BJP has also called out the opposition
00:10:08for confusing the public.
00:10:10Meanwhile, Election Commission sources
00:10:11have informed India today of another case of two epic cards.
00:10:15Sources have indicated that the wife of CPIML MP,
00:10:20Sudama Prasad, also possesses two voter identity cards.
00:10:23Remember, the party is a petitioner in the Supreme Court
00:10:27against voter roll revision.
00:10:28The other puns have been said,
00:10:37while Parte of CPIML MP,
00:10:39this is the announcement that Khalid is created
00:10:39at the end of the court's court.
00:10:41Theейmall star,
00:10:41the Thai flag is true.
00:10:42The president of the food and the food
00:10:43is also churning together.
00:10:45TheBlay has done a notice
00:10:46and the culpary of CPIML MP,
00:10:48which is the fact that he has decided
00:10:49He faut,
00:10:50which is the fact that he has done
00:10:52It is not a statement
00:10:54that he is not a statement
00:10:55that he has taken its name.

00:12:56And amid a raging row over the special intensive revision of electoral roles in the state of Bihar
00:13:01senior Congress Leader and former Home Minister Pi Chidham Ram has alleged that
00:13:056.5 lakh migrant workers have been added as voters in the state of Tamil Nadu.
00:13:10Calling it alarming and illegal, Chidham Ram accused the election commission of attempting a demographic
00:13:15a demographic shift. He also alleged that the Election Commission is abusing its powers to
00:13:21influence the elections. He called the move a ploy to add 6.5 lakh Bihari migrants as voters
00:13:27in Tamil Nadu. He also questioned why migrant workers cannot return to their home state to vote
00:13:32in their respective assembly elections. The Election Commission has slammed Jidambaram's
00:13:37claims as false and misleading, saying that it is absurd to connect Bihar Special Intensive
00:13:42Revision with Tamil Nadu, where Special Intensive Revision has not yet been rolled out. The
00:13:48Election Commission has also clarified that residents can register as voters anywhere.
00:13:53Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu BJP has also hit back at the opposition, questioning how voters removed
00:13:58in Bihar are anti-BJP, but the new voters in Tamil Nadu are pro-BJP. The BJP has accused the Congress
00:14:04of confusing the public and strongly condemned the remarks made by the Congress MP.
00:14:09I don't know how he talks like this. On one hand, as you rightly said, he says that there
00:14:16is a subtraction of voters from Bihar, and those voters, he says that they are anti-BJP supporters.
00:14:24And here, in Tamil Nadu, he says those voters are being enrolled in Tamil Nadu. Why should,
00:14:32if that is the case, why should BJP add anti-BJP voters in Tamil Nadu? What is he talking? Does
00:14:40he have any sense in talking like this? A person of Mr. Jidambaram's caliber should not resort
00:14:47to these kind of streets because he should know what actually the Election Commission,
00:14:53what are the procedures. It has gone to the court, the court has accepted. So many things
00:14:58are there. But you do cheap and silly politics like this, this is highly condemnable. I think
00:15:05Mr. Jidambaram should apologize for what he has done. In Bihar, they say that they have
00:15:12detected voters because they are anti-BJP. But in Tamil Nadu, they say those voters have become
00:15:18pro-BJP. How is it possible?
00:15:21Earlier, DMK MP A. Raja slammed the timing of Bihar voter roll revision and also questioned
00:15:26the secrecy. Listen in.
00:15:30Why are they introducing it? Usual process of electoral roll, periodically which is being done
00:15:37in all states, that has been done. Already over in Bihar. What are all the usual procedures?
00:15:43The procedures are followed. So far, approved procedures by the Election Commission after
00:15:48the new consultation. Who invented the new theory? This SIR. Whether it was approved by cabinet
00:15:56or it was discussed in the Election Commission, any deliberation took place with the stakeholders
00:16:00or all political parties in India. When a new system is going to introduce, is it not
00:16:05your duty incumbent upon you, that you should be consulted freely, openly? Why you are making
00:16:10such a surreptious, secret and stealthy manner, you are introducing a new theory without any
00:16:15consultation by calling 11 documents, 10 documents. What does it mean? The exercise that has been
00:16:20done procedurally has been completely wiped out.
00:16:23And now shifting focus to the state of Karnataka. Amid ongoing allegations of voter roll manipulation,
00:16:29the Karnataka State Election Commission has responded to a complaint by Congress candidate
00:16:33who lost the 2023 Assembly elections in Mahadevapura. H. Nagesh had raised concerns over forged entries
00:16:40in the constituency's voter list, claiming that he submitted evidence of such irregularities
00:16:45in April 2023. However, the poll panel has stated that no such document is on record. Neither did
00:16:52Nagesh file any formal petition regarding the 2023 voter list. The Election Commission also clarified
00:16:58that electoral rolls are publicly available and were provided to all contesting candidates,
00:17:03including Nagesh at that time. Now, this development comes as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleges
00:17:09electoral fraud in the state, claiming that he has proof to support his charge. The leader of
00:17:14opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is also scheduled to lead a protest against the poll panel
00:17:18and the BJP in Bengaluru on August 5. The BJP, in turn, is planning a counter-protest,
00:17:24but claims that the Sidra Maya government is blocking it.
00:17:32And shifting focus, a letter from Delhi police that referred to Bengali as Bangladeshi language
00:17:37has triggered a major row in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mantha Banerjee and the Trinambool
00:17:42Congress have launched a scathing attack at the BJP. TMC has called it a selective targeting of
00:17:47Bengali-speaking people. Mantha Banerjee has said that the move is not an error, but a calculated
00:17:53attempt to brand Bengalis as outsiders and a deliberate plot to delegitimize the language.
00:18:00TMC leaders have accused the centre of insulting Bengals' cultural identity for political propaganda
00:18:05and not respecting India's diversity. The party has also hit out saying the government should guard
00:18:11India's borders instead of torturing Indian Bengalis. But the BJP has responded saying that
00:18:17it is shameful of Mamtha Banerjee to defend illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators by weaponising language
00:18:23and stoking sentiment. The government has also warned that Bangladeshi infiltrators will be dealt
00:18:28with strictly. Now, amid the controversy, Home Minister Amit Shai is set to hold a crucial meeting
00:18:33with Bengal BJP MPs in New Delhi soon.
00:18:38The Lodi Colony Police Station in Delhi, which falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs and reports
00:18:44to the Honourable Home Minister, has written a letter to our Bango Bhavon in Delhi calling Bangla,
00:18:51our mother tongue, a Bangladeshi language. Bangla is spoken by 25 crore people globally.
00:18:59It is one of 22 constitutionally recognised languages in India. It is one of 11 classical
00:19:06languages in India. Our national anthem and our national song are in Bengali. To call this
00:19:12a Bangladeshi language on official documentation is a calculated action. This is not a mistake.
00:19:20It's not a clerical error. We demand an unconditional apology from the Delhi police. We demand corrective
00:19:26action and we demand steps against the officers involved in writing this letter.
00:19:32And shifting focus, a political controversy has erupted in the state of Karnataka. This after
00:19:38Minister H.C. Mahadevappa claimed that Tipu Sultan laid the foundation for the KRS dam.
00:19:43Now, the statement drew sharp criticism from the BJP, which claimed that the Congress party will next
00:19:48credit Tipu Sultan's father, Haider Ali, for writing the state anthem. Not just that, the party has also
00:19:55alleged that all Congress leaders seem to have been bitten by mad dogs. Historians, meanwhile, have said
00:20:01that Tipu Sultan may have had a vision for waterworks, but the KRS dam was conceptualised and built under
00:20:08the patronage of Krishnarajah, Vodayar the fourth.
00:20:26And now shifting focus, rage on droids, rage at airports. A senior army officer has assaulted four
00:20:37SpiceJet staff at the Srinagar airport following a dispute over excess cabin baggage. SpiceJet said
00:20:44its staff members suffered severe injuries, including a spinal fracture and a serious jaw injury.
00:20:50It has also described the incident as a murderous assault. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Corps have
00:20:55registered two FIRs, one against the Lieutenant Colonel Ritesh Kumar Singh and other against a SpiceJet
00:21:01staff. However, no arrests have been made so far. According to SpiceJet, the incident took place on
00:21:07July 26 during the check-in for a Delhi-bound flight and the army officer was carrying two cabin bags,
00:21:13weighing a total of 16 kg, more than twice the airline's permitted limit of 7 kg. And when the
00:21:19ground staff informed the army officer of the excess baggage and asked him to pay the applicable
00:21:24charges, he refused to pay the amount, turned violent and assaulted the staff brutally. The Indian
00:21:30army, meanwhile, has released a statement on the incident, saying it is committed to upholding the
00:21:35highest standards of discipline and conduct and is taking all allegations seriously.
00:21:42We're getting some breaking news. Actor and MP Kamal Hassan blames NEET exam for snatching away
00:21:48education from children. He claims since 2017, poor children are not able to dream about medical
00:21:55education. Also says that education only way to break dictatorial and sanatan shackles. This is the
00:22:03big statement coming to the fore by MP Kamal Hassan, who has blamed the NEET examination for snatching
00:22:08away education from children. Not just that, he has also claimed that since 2017, poor children have
00:22:15not been able to dream about medical education. In fact, he's gone on to say that education is the only
00:22:21way to break dictatorial and sanatan shackles. That's an important point that he has made, that education is
00:22:29the only way to break dictatorial and sanatan shackles. And he has claimed the NEET examination for
00:22:35NEET examination for snatching away the education from children, as he claims that since 2017, poor
00:22:41children have not been able to dream about medical education due to NEET.
00:22:45clickbait on this log-in thancompan. So thank you for hiring. The only way to hang out
00:22:57about medical education is today. He's made with you all theimo minor services to all of us.
00:23:01But this is always the way to our medical education, who hosts the UNPEC who works by clearing air
00:27:03where an actual movie that was taken in a different context
00:27:06where the actors had portrayed differently
00:27:08now can be shown in a different manner
00:27:10and this is what Dhanush is not able to accept as an artist
00:27:14and he's kind of stating that something this is not acceptable, Anjali.
00:27:21Also, is Dhanush planning to take some sort of legal action
00:27:24against the makers of this AI version of movie?
00:27:28For now, he only says that the use of AI to alter films or content
00:27:33is a deeply concerning president of both the art and the artist
00:27:37if it threatens the integrity of the storytelling of the cinema
00:27:40and he's only urging the production house
00:27:43to not involve in such kind of using AI
00:27:46to alter any kind of movie scenes
00:27:48or entering the movie script, Anjali.
00:27:53Alright, Pramod, do stay with us
00:27:55as we're getting some more breaking news.
00:28:03And this breaking news coming to the fore from the state of Tamil Nadu.
00:28:09BJP cries foul over Tamil Nadu's student's suicide.
00:28:12Class 11 student missing and found dead in a well.
00:28:16BJP asks, was Selvan Mughalan murdered and thrown into the well?
00:28:20The student was found dead inside a well in the school.
00:28:23Mughalan's parents now claim foul play.
00:28:26The parents are saying that grill a top well closed
00:28:29when the body was found.
00:28:32And a case has been registered so far.
00:28:35The investigation is also underway.
00:28:37Mughalan lived in hostile premises at the school
00:28:39and his body was found inside the well in the school premises.
00:28:47Pramod, my colleague, continues to stay with us.
00:28:49Pramod, give us more details about the shocking incident
00:28:51coming to the fore from Tamil Nadu
00:28:52where a Class 11 student was first missing
00:28:55and then found dead in a well.
00:28:56It's a very shocking story that had occurred yesterday
00:29:00and we also reported it.
00:29:02And this has happened in a district called Tirupatur
00:29:04and the student was studying Levin Standard
00:29:06while staying in the school hostel
00:29:07which was a government-aided school
00:29:09called as Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School.
00:29:12In fact, on Friday, the parents of the child
00:29:14were informed that he had gone missing
00:29:16and he did not attend the classes
00:29:17and they had asked the parents whether he had come to the home.
00:29:20But the parents were shocked and said like
00:29:21no such information was given
00:29:23and the parents kind of stated
00:29:24that while the child is on the hostel
00:29:26it was actually a responsibility of the institution
00:29:28to make sure that he is like
00:29:30to know about where he is and such.
00:29:33But two days after
00:29:34it was absolutely shocking that yesterday
00:29:36his body was found floating
00:29:38inside a large well of this particular school
00:29:41and his body was floating in such a manner
00:29:44that his face was facing downward
00:29:46and shockingly the relatives also claimed
00:29:49that the entire well was in a closed manner.
00:29:51It had a grill on top of it
00:29:53and this is what Naina Nagendran
00:29:54the BJP state president is trying to highlight
00:29:56and he is asking like
00:29:57was there any foul play involved
00:29:59and he is also questioning
00:30:01if there is any political motive behind such kind of
00:30:04they are calling it a suspicious death
00:30:06and he is seeking the intervention of the chief minister
00:30:09to make sure that school children and others
00:30:11are protected, Anjali.
00:30:14Absolutely, Pramod.
00:30:16In fact, it is important to note
00:30:17that the grill atop the well
00:30:19was closed when the body was found.
00:30:21What else has been found
00:30:23in the investigation so far?
00:30:25Anjali, we were one of the first people
00:30:28to report on this story yesterday
00:30:29and we also saw the visuals
00:30:31where the police had to go ahead
00:30:33and they had to open up the grill.
00:30:35So there are many questions
00:30:36that are yet to be answered in this matter.
00:30:38The Tirupattu police claimed
00:30:39that they had earlier created special teams
00:30:41to look out for the child
00:30:43but imagine even while they were looking out
00:30:45for the child everywhere else
00:30:46the child was found dead
00:30:47inside the school premises
00:30:48and that too into a well.
00:30:50So right now an investigation is happening
00:30:52but the parents and relatives
00:30:54are definitely crying foul play
00:30:56and this is what Naila Narekin
00:30:57is also trying to provide the support
00:31:00for stating that a detailed investigation
00:31:02must be conducted on this particular death, Anjali.
00:31:05Right.
00:31:06Pramod, thank you for getting us those details.
00:31:08In fact, we will keep coming back to you
00:31:09for more updates on this.
00:31:10As of now, we're shifting focus.
00:31:12We're getting some more breaking news.
00:31:22Rift within the BRS
00:31:24as leaders engage in war of words.
00:31:26K. Kavita calls BRS MLA
00:31:27Lilliput leader.
00:31:29BRS party leader
00:31:30making inappropriate comments against me.
00:31:32This is what K. Kavita has said.
00:31:35Lilliput leader ruined BRS in Nalgonda.
00:31:37This is also what K. Kavita has claimed
00:31:40calling Jagdish Reddy
00:31:42as the Lilliput leader.
00:31:44So rift has emerged within the BRS
00:31:46as leaders engage in war of words
00:31:48with K. Kavita calling BRS MLA
00:31:50Jagdish Reddy as Lilliput leader.
00:31:53In fact, she goes on to say that
00:31:54the BRS party leader
00:31:56which she is referring to,
00:31:57Jagdish Reddy
00:31:58makes inappropriate comments against her.
00:32:01This is what K. Kavita has claimed.
00:32:03And she also added
00:32:05that the Lilliput leader
00:32:07Jagdish Reddy
00:32:08ruined BRS in Nalgonda.
00:32:17My colleague Apoorva
00:32:18is now joining us
00:32:19with more details on this.
00:32:20Apoorva,
00:32:21Rift within the BRS
00:32:22clearly there's a war of words
00:32:24that has erupted within the BRS
00:32:26with K. Kavita calling
00:32:27BRS MLA Lilliput leader.
00:32:29Could you give us more context?
00:32:30Well, that's right.
00:32:33In fact,
00:32:34you know,
00:32:36Kavita,
00:32:37this has come just after
00:32:40comments that have been
00:32:42arguably made by,
00:32:43you know,
00:32:44a specific
00:32:44and really there
00:32:45Jagdish Reddy
00:32:46in fact,
00:32:47he has,
00:32:48you know,
00:32:49she has been
00:32:50a Lilliput leader
00:32:51for questioning
00:32:51his political standing
00:32:52without KCR support.
00:32:55In fact,
00:32:55she has gone on
00:32:56and stated
00:32:57several other
00:33:00senior leaders
00:33:01in BRS
00:33:02have been,
00:33:04you know,
00:33:05allegedly making
00:33:06derogative remarks
00:33:07against her
00:33:08through party members
00:33:09and had,
00:33:10you know,
00:33:12made attempts
00:33:12of isolating her
00:33:13within the BRS
00:33:14and in fact,
00:33:15she goes on
00:33:16and states
00:33:16that such attempts
00:33:17by a Lilliput leader
00:33:19without,
00:33:20you know,
00:33:21KCR support
00:33:22means nothing
00:33:23is what she has gone on
00:33:25and stated
00:33:26and she has also
00:33:27gone on
00:33:27and said how
00:33:28that Jagdish Reddy
00:33:29and several other leaders
00:33:31have been,
00:33:32those who have
00:33:33risen up to the top
00:33:34and that they have
00:33:35risen up only
00:33:35because of the support
00:33:36that they were able
00:33:37to get from KCR
00:33:39is what Kavita
00:33:41has gone on
00:33:42and stated.
00:33:43She has said
00:33:43that these such
00:33:44comments
00:33:45or statements
00:33:46that have been made
00:33:47or the internal
00:33:48transfer
00:33:49inside the party
00:33:50means nothing
00:33:51if not for KCR
00:33:52support
00:33:52and that leaders
00:33:54as well as
00:33:55the cadre
00:33:55know that she has
00:33:57KCR support
00:33:57is what Kavita
00:33:58has gone on
00:33:59and clarified
00:34:00saying that
00:34:01such comments
00:34:01by such leaders
00:34:02are not going
00:34:03to deter
00:34:04anybody
00:34:04in the party.
00:34:07Right.
00:34:07Apoorva,
00:34:08so how has
00:34:08the BRS MLA
00:34:09responded to
00:34:10this Lilliput remark
00:34:11that has been made
00:34:12by K Kavita
00:34:13and also how does
00:34:14this war of words
00:34:16between the BRS
00:34:17leaders
00:34:17impact the image
00:34:18of the party
00:34:19in the state?
00:34:21Well,
00:34:21you know
00:34:23in fact
00:34:23Jagdish Reddy
00:34:24has responded
00:34:24back to Kavita's
00:34:26comments
00:34:27that she had made
00:34:28earlier in the morning
00:34:29yesterday
00:34:29wherein
00:34:30he said
00:34:31that he boasts
00:34:33to Kavita's
00:34:34knowledge
00:34:34of his movement
00:34:35journey
00:34:35wherein Kavita
00:34:37had talked
00:34:37about how
00:34:38she is aware
00:34:39of what his
00:34:41political movement
00:34:41has been
00:34:42since the BRS
00:34:43has been in
00:34:44the opposition
00:34:44and that she also
00:34:45stated that he
00:34:47expressed his
00:34:47sympathy for her
00:34:48effort to repeat
00:34:50statements
00:34:50made by KTR's
00:34:52political rival
00:34:53in fact
00:34:53Jagdish Reddy
00:34:54has some
00:34:54fad
00:34:55Kavita saying
00:34:56that she is
00:34:57doing nothing
00:34:58but content
00:34:59to the statements
00:34:59of the BRS
00:35:00and more importantly
00:35:01she is
00:35:02in a way
00:35:03he is alleging
00:35:04she is doing
00:35:05whatever
00:35:05BRS's rivals
00:35:07are doing
00:35:08which is that
00:35:08the congress
00:35:09and the BJP
00:35:10is what
00:35:11Jagdish Reddy
00:35:11has commented
00:35:13on
00:35:13let's take
00:35:14the party
00:35:15of BRS
00:35:15for an
00:35:16instance
00:35:16there has
00:35:20been quite
00:35:20a lot
00:35:21of internal
00:35:21tussles
00:35:22that have
00:35:22gone on
00:35:23but at
00:35:23the end
00:35:24of the
00:35:24day
00:35:24what sources
00:35:25do tell
00:35:25us
00:35:25is that
00:35:26you know
00:35:27there is
00:35:27be it
00:35:30Kavita
00:35:30be it
00:35:31Jagdish Reddy
00:35:32or be it
00:35:33any of the
00:35:33other members
00:35:34as well
00:35:34there is
00:35:35a hierarchy
00:35:36that the BRS
00:35:37follows
00:35:37and that's
00:35:38what they
00:35:38are also
00:35:39going by
00:35:39and most
00:35:40importantly
00:35:40this internal
00:35:42session that
00:35:42has now
00:35:43flopped up
00:35:44definitely
00:35:45does see
00:35:46a war of
00:35:47words engaging
00:35:47between
00:35:48you know
00:35:49KCR's daughter
00:35:49and one
00:35:51of KCR's
00:35:52staunch
00:35:53supporters
00:35:54and you
00:35:56know
00:35:56somebody who's
00:35:57been with
00:35:58KCR since
00:35:59the time
00:35:59starting
00:36:00that is
00:36:00Jagdish Reddy
00:36:01and we
00:36:02definitely
00:36:02think that
00:36:03these war
00:36:03of words
00:36:04are escalating
00:36:05as time
00:36:05goes by

00:43:09Amid a raging row over the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in the state of Bihar,
00:43:14senior Congress leader and former Home Minister Pi Chudam Ram has alleged that 6.5 lakh migrant workers have been added as voters in the state of Tamil Nadu.
00:43:24Calling it alarming and illegal, Chudam Ram accused the Election Commission of attempting a demographic shift.
00:43:30He also alleged that the Election Commission is abusing its powers to influence the elections.
00:43:35In fact, he called the move a ploy to add 6.5 lakh Bihari migrants as voters in the state of Tamil Nadu.
00:43:41He also questioned why migrant workers cannot return to their home state to vote in their respective assembly elections.
00:43:48The Election Commission has slammed Chudam Ram's claims as false and misleading, saying that it is absurd to connect Bihar special intensive revision with Tamil Nadu,
00:43:57where special intensive revision has not yet been rolled out.
00:44:00The Election Commission has also clarified that residents can register as voters anywhere.
00:44:05Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu BJP has also hit back at the opposition questioning how voters removed in Bihar are called anti-BJP,
00:44:12but the new voters in Tamil Nadu are being termed as pro-BJP.
00:44:16The BJP has accused the Congress of confusing the public and strongly condemned the remarks made by the Congress MP.
00:44:24I don't know how he talks like this. On one hand, as you rightly said, he says that there is a subtraction of voters from Bihar,
00:44:33and those voters, he says that they are anti-BJP supporters.
00:44:38And here, in Tamil Nadu, he says those voters are being enrolled in Tamil Nadu.
00:44:45Why should, if that is the case, why should BJP add anti-BJP voters in Tamil Nadu?
00:44:52What is he talking? Does he have any sense in talking like this?
00:44:57A person of Mr. Chidambaram's calibre should not resort to this kind of speech,
00:45:03because he should know what actually the Election Commission, what are the procedures,
00:45:09it has gone to the force, the force has accepted, so many things are there.
00:45:13But you do cheap and silly politics like this, this is highly condemnable.
00:45:19I think Mr. Chidambaram should apologize for what he has done.
00:45:23In Bihar, they say that they have deducted voters because they are anti-BJP.
00:45:29But in Tamil Nadu, they say those voters have become pro-BJP. How is it possible?
00:45:34Earlier, DMK MP A. Raja slammed the timing of Bihar voter roll revision and also questioned the secrecy. Listen in.
00:45:44Why they are introducing it? Usual process of electoral roll, periodically which is being done in all states, that has been done.
00:45:53Already over in Bihar. What are the usual procedures? The procedures are followed.
00:45:58So far approved procedures by the Election Commission after the new consultation.
00:46:03Who invented the new theory? This SIR. Whether it was approved by cabinet or it was discussed in the Allison Commission,
00:46:11any deliberation took place with the stakeholders or all political parties in India.
00:46:16When a new system is going to introduce, is it not your duty incumbent upon you that you should be consulted freely, openly?
00:46:22Why you are making such a surreptious, secret and stealthy manner, you are introducing a new theory without any consultation by calling 11 documents, 10 documents.
00:46:32What does it mean? The exercise that has been done procedurally has been completely wiped out.
00:46:36And we're getting some breaking news after Election Commission calls P. Chidamram's claims as misleading.
00:46:48Now Sun and Congress MP Karthi Chidamram slams the poll body.
00:46:52Karthi Chidamram hits out at the Election Commission saying that any attempt to enroll people as voters in states
00:46:58where they are not permanently residing, they must have verifiable permanent address is a diabolical plot to alter the character of the electoral base.
00:47:08Now, poll body had sniped at Senior Congress Neta P. Chidamram, who flagged Tamil Nadu voter list and pointed to migrants in Tamil Nadu voter roll,
00:47:16after which Election Commission dismissed it as false claims by the Congress and also termed to Dhamram's remark as misleading.
00:47:23But in the latest development, now Sun of P. Chidamram, who's also a Congress MP Karthi Chidamram,
00:47:29has slammed the poll body saying that any attempt to enroll people as voters in states where they are not permanently residing,
00:47:36they must have verifiable permanent address is a diabolical plot to alter the character of the electoral base.
00:47:43My colleague Pramod Madhav is now joining us with more details on this.
00:47:47Pramod, despite the Election Commission hitting out at P. Chidamram saying that his remarks are misleading
00:47:53and that the Special Intensive Division has not even been rolled out in the state of Tamil Nadu.
00:47:58Now, Sankarthi Chidamram has also backed the claims by P. Chidamram saying that the Election Commission is misusing its powers
00:48:08and that it's a diabolical plot by the poll body to alter the character of the electoral base.
00:48:15It surely is, actually, because yesterday, not just it was P. Chidamram who has highlighted it in a very big manner,
00:48:20and now all the politicians in the state of Tamil Nadu, the popular speaker,
00:48:23actually for PGP, have started to react on Islam and even AI and the DNA.
00:48:27While AI and the division of the EU's focus are also very clearly mentioned that they are not speaking to LR, S.A.R. in any format,
00:48:34and they also questioned what is the need for S.A.R. to persuade and be ruled by the Cabinet,
00:48:39or also discussion and with the opposition parties.
00:48:41Now, they've explained that 3.5 voters from Bihar could get voters' ID for the state of Tamil Nadu,
00:48:47that is certainly a huge alarm, even though after EPA has given an intention claiming that the appeals of the government's claims are more accurate.
00:48:55This is a premise once you get back with the idea.
00:48:58All right, Pramod, thank you for those details and for that context.
00:49:02With that, we're now shifting focus.
00:49:10Amid ongoing allegations of voter role manipulation,
00:49:13the Karnataka State Election Commission has responded to a complaint by Congress candidate
00:49:17who lost the 2023 Assembly elections in Mahadevapura.
00:49:21H. Nagesh had raised concerns over forged entries in the constituency's voter list,
00:49:26claiming that he submitted evidence of such irregularities in April 2023.
00:49:31However, the poll panel has stated that no such document is on record.
00:49:35Neither did Nagesh file any formal petition regarding the 2023 voter list.
00:49:40Now, the Election Commission also clarified that electoral rolls are publicly available
00:49:44and were provided to all the contesting candidates, including Nagesh at that time.
00:49:49Now, this development comes as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleges electoral fraud in the state,
00:49:53claiming that he has proof to support his charge.
00:49:56The leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is also scheduled to lead a protest against the poll panel
00:50:02and the BJP in Bengaluru on August 5.
00:50:05The BJP, in turn, is also planning to counter the protest,
00:50:09but claims that the Sidramaya government is blocking it.
00:50:12The BJP sharpens attack on Mamata Banerjee over the language draw.
00:50:19Mamata Banerjee's reaction to Delhi police referring to the language used by infiltrators as Bangladeshi
00:50:24is not just misplaced, it is dangerously inflammatory.
00:50:28This is what the BJP has said.
00:50:30BJP goes on to say that nowhere in the Delhi police letter is Bangla or Bengali described as a Bangladeshi language.
00:50:36To claim otherwise and call upon Bengalis to rise against the centre is deeply irresponsible.
00:50:42Mamata Banerjee should be held accountable, perhaps even under the National Security Act,
00:50:48for inciting linguistic conflict.
00:50:50So, BJP has sharpened its attack against Mamata Banerjee.
00:50:53In fact, it has also demanded action against Mamata Banerjee and that she should be held accountable,
00:50:58perhaps even under the National Security Act, is what the BJP is saying.
00:51:03My colleague Indrajit Kundu is now joining us with more details on this.
00:51:08Indrajit, sharp attack from the BJP against the Congress over the language draw.
00:51:12In fact, also seeking action against Mamata Banerjee under the NSA.
00:51:16But help us understand the entire controversy.
00:51:19Did the Delhi police really mention Bangla as a Bangladeshi language
00:51:23or is it just a political misinterpretation?
00:51:26Well, as is evident from the letter that we are showing right now,
00:51:32this of course has been brought in the public domain by the Tribunal Congress all through yesterday.
00:51:36And, you know, Mamata Banerjee of course going on red hot on social media.
00:51:42So has Abhishek Banerjee.
00:51:44The entire top brass of Tribunal Congress now trying to corner the BJP with this one letter
00:51:49that has come out from the Delhi police.
00:51:52And it clearly mentions at top Bangladeshi language.
00:51:55But it was referring to Bengali or Bangla as a language.
00:51:58And while referring to that, it mentioned Bangladeshi language.
00:52:02Now that has caused a huge political storm in West Bengal.
00:52:06With a Trinamul Congress latching onto it.
00:52:09Because as you are aware, the Trinamul Congress over the past several weeks now
00:52:13has been trying to corner the BJP over the issue of Bengali identity.
00:52:18Over the issue of Bengali speaking migrant workers being attacked and assaulted across BJP rural states.
00:52:26Some of them have also been, you know, pushed back into Bangladesh.
00:52:31And they have been brought back successfully after verification is what the Trinamul government here claims.
00:52:36So they are claiming that this is a well planned, well orchestrated assault on Bengali speaking population.
00:52:44And on Bangla as a language and Bengals cultural heritage.
00:52:48And therefore, this fits well within their campaign to corner the BJP.
00:52:52And therefore, they're roughing the ante.
00:52:54Mamta Banerjee, of course, today is going to hold a very, very crucial meeting with all her party MPs virtually.
00:53:01And one can expect more fireworks.
00:53:03Alright, Indraji, do stay with us.
00:53:04We're being joined by BJP's Rahul Sinha on the broadcast.
00:53:07Mr. Sinha, a very good morning to you.
00:53:09So, a controversy has now erupted after Mamta Banerjee claiming that the Delhi police used Bangladeshi language to refer to Bengali language.
00:53:17And now your party is seeking strict action against Mamta Banerjee, even asking for action under the NSA.
00:53:24The Muslims are saying in engaging.
00:53:25The Muslims are saying there are also on the Simply-Pengal language of Muslims- invite you to defend.
00:53:27The Muslims have been complaining.
00:53:29See, the same thing in the US-Pengal language of the Bangladesh is also on the BBC.
00:53:31The Prophet of themüşs are saying there with us.
00:53:34So, I have to say, that this is the thing that the Armenian people have been calling for a Muslim.
00:53:35So that the government is actually talking about it.
00:53:36So how do they say there are still in thes, who are saying there are still in the United States?
00:53:37It's the same thing.
00:53:42So actually, the Muslims have been talking about their culture,
00:53:45and therefore they are talking about their language.
00:53:47So they are crying out.
00:53:49What they are saying that there are anything
00:53:52so why don't you get the politics of Bangladesh and Bangladesh because they are playing a game of politics.
00:53:59They are playing a party with Mamata Benarji and their party.
00:54:02So, this is not something that the Delhi police did not do anything.
00:54:05Because these people have been speaking this way.
00:54:09They are fighting for Bangladesh and Muslim Guzmati to protect it.
00:54:15And they have been doing this with Bangladesh.
00:54:19So that's why anyone will know who will go to Bangladesh in a struggle in Bangladesh.
00:54:25His language is also Bangladesh.
00:54:27So he wanted to do this first of all, but he doesn't work for Bangladesh.
00:54:36He has come to Bangladesh, and the Muslim who has gone through the name of Bhutali,
00:54:43he is working to protect his work, because all the votes are 100% of them.
00:54:48Therefore, if you get out of 100% of the vote, then Mamata Banerjee will also get out of the power of Mamata Banerjee.
00:54:56And that's why Mamata Banerjee, who has made the decision of the government,
00:55:01the decision of that decision was made by the Delhi Police.
00:55:05So Rahul Sina Ji, you are saying that this is the...
00:55:08All right, we've lost the connection, but the BJP is now claiming that the concern that has been raised by
00:55:16West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is not a genuine concern for the language.
00:55:20Instead, it's a bid to save the infiltrators.
00:55:27A letter from Delhi Police that referred to Bengali as Bangladeshi language has triggered a major row in West Bengal.
00:55:34Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamul Congress have launched a scathing attack at the BJP.
00:55:38TMC has called it a selective targeting of Bengali-speaking people.
00:55:42Mamata Banerjee has said that the move is not an error, but a calculated attempt to brand Bengalis as outsiders
00:55:50and a deliberate plot to delegitimize the language.
00:55:53TMC leaders have accused the centre of insulting Bengals' cultural identity for political propaganda
00:55:58and not respecting India's diversity.
00:56:01The party has also hit out saying that the government should guard India's borders
00:56:06instead of torturing Indian Bengalis.
00:56:08But the BJP has responded saying that it is shameful of Manta Banerjee to defend illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators
00:56:14by weaponising language and stoking sentiment.
00:56:18The government has also warned that Bangladeshi infiltrators will be dealt with strictly.
00:56:22Now, amid the controversy, Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to hold a crucial meeting
00:56:26with Bengal BJP MPs in the national capital soon.
00:56:29The Lodi Colony Police Station in Delhi, which falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs
00:56:36and reports to the Honourable Home Minister, has written a letter to our Bango Bhavon in Delhi
00:56:42calling Bangla, our mother tongue, a Bangladeshi language.
00:56:48Bangla is spoken by 25 crore people globally.
00:56:52It is one of 22 constitutionally recognised languages in India.
00:56:56It is one of 11 classical languages in India.
00:57:00Our national anthem and our national song are in Bengali.
00:57:04To call this a Bangladeshi language on official documentation is a calculated action.
00:57:12This is not a mistake.
00:57:13It's not a clerical error.
00:57:14We demand an unconditional apology from the Delhi police.
00:57:18We demand corrective action and we demand steps against the officers involved in writing this letter.
00:57:24Subject, translation of documents containing text written in
00:57:31written in Bangladeshi language.
00:57:38Bangla bhasha ke Bangla dheshi bhasha bolche.
00:57:41Ke bolche? BJP bolche.
00:57:43Ke bolche? BJP police bolche.
00:57:45Ke bolche? Amit Shahar police.
00:57:47Ke bolche?
00:57:50Norendra modhir police bolche.
00:57:52He ta sudhu prasasho nik bhuul na hai.
00:57:54Bangla bhasha ke likche. Bangla dheshi bhasha.
00:57:59Amadhe polishkar bhaqtabbo.
00:58:01Je investigating officer he ta pathye chhe.
00:58:05Taake suspend kutte vahe.
00:58:06And we're getting some breaking news from Jammu and Kashmir.
00:58:16It's day four of Operation Akhal in Kulgam Forest.
00:58:19Firing and explosions continued throughout the night.
00:58:22The ongoing encounter in the Akhal Forest area of Kulgam entered its fourth day with intermittent firing and explosions continuing throughout the night.
00:58:32Three terrorists have been killed so far and four soldiers have been injured in this operation which began Friday evening following inputs about the presence of terrorists in the dense forest terrain.
00:58:42Now the operation is taking place in treacherous and heavily forested terrain.
00:58:47Rudra attack helicopters, drones, high-tech surveillance equipment and elite paraforces have been deployed.
00:58:54Three terrorists have been killed so far whereas four soldiers have also been injured so far in the operation.
00:59:00The operation still continues and it is day four of the operations.
00:59:04My colleague Ashraf Fani is now joining us with more details on this.
00:59:08Ashraf, give us the latest update as far as the Akhal operation is concerned which has entered its fourth day today.
00:59:17Yes, Anjali, absolutely.
00:59:19Now it is one of the longest operations carried out by the security forces in the Kashmir Valley this year.
00:59:25Today it entered into the fourth day and so far as you said three terrorists have been killed.
00:59:32Four soldiers are injured.
00:59:34Three of them got injured yesterday in these dense forest where this operation is currently going on.
00:59:41Actually only two bodies of terrorists have been retrieved so far.
00:59:45One is still lying in the forest area and it is becoming very tough for the security forces to retrieve that body from this densely forested.
00:59:55area and there are also the chances that probably some more terrorists may be hiding in this dense forest area of Kulgam district in South Kashmir.
01:00:05But the top commanders of the army as well as police are monitoring this operation.
01:00:11They want to ensure that all the terrorists who may be hiding in this forest area should be neutralized.
01:00:18That is why this operation is taking so long and a lot of precaution has been taken out by the security forces to avoid any kind of further injury or casualties.
01:00:28All right, Ashraf, thank you for getting us those details.
01:00:31We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this operation.
01:00:33U.S. President Donald Trump has now again given an ultimatum to Russia.
01:00:41After threatening countries with tariffs, Trump is back to threatening Russia over the war.
01:00:46Trump has given Russia an ultimatum to impose more sanctions if they don't stop the war by August 8.
01:00:52Trump said that Russia needs to end the war and reach a ceasefire if they want to make a deal with the United States.
01:00:58Amid this, Trump's aid also slammed India for trading with Russia.
01:01:02U.S. claims that India is funding Russia's war by buying oil from them.
01:01:07He accused India of being complicit in the killing of innocent people in Ukraine by supporting the war.
01:01:14Yeah, I get a deal where people stop getting killed.
01:01:17They had a number that just came out that a tremendous number of Russian soldiers are being killed.
01:01:24And likewise, Ukraine, a lower number, but still thousands and thousands of people.
01:01:29And now we're adding towns where they're being hit by missiles.
01:01:33So it's a lot of people being killed in that ridiculous war.
01:01:37And, you know, we stopped a lot of countries from war.
01:01:42India and Pakistan.
01:01:43We stopped a lot of countries.
01:01:45And we're going to get that one stopped, too.
01:01:49Somehow we're going to get that one stopped.
01:01:50That's a really horrible war.
01:01:52Oh, you know, you heard about Cambodia and Thailand.
01:01:56We got that one done.
01:01:58We got the Congo, which was going there for 31 years.
01:02:03Rwanda.
01:02:04That one's done.
01:02:06We stopped a lot of wars.
01:02:08This is the one we seem to be, this should be the easiest to stop.
01:02:12And it's not.
01:02:13What he said very clearly is that it is not acceptable for India to continue financing this war by purchasing the oil from Russia.
01:02:23People will be shocked to learn that India is basically tied with China in purchasing Russian oil.
01:02:29That's an astonishing fact.
01:02:31India portrays itself as being one of our closest friends in the world.
01:02:35But they don't accept our products.
01:02:36So, President Trump, he wants a tremendous relationship and has had always a tremendous relationship with India and the prime minister.
01:02:44But we need to get real about dealing with the financing of this war.
01:02:48So, President Trump, all options are on the table to deal diplomatically, financially, and otherwise with the ongoing war in Ukraine so we can achieve peace and end the war that the Democrat Party and Joe Biden are responsible for.
01:03:01Meanwhile, Donald Trump stated that his next step would be lowering pharmaceutical prices.
01:03:07He claims the U.S. pays the highest prices for drugs compared to other countries.
01:03:12Because you could buy something in London or in Germany, someplace in Germany or many countries where it's one-tenth, one-third, one-fourth, sometimes one-tenth the price of what it costs to buy it in New York or some other place.
01:03:29And we're not doing that anymore.
01:03:31We're not allowing that anymore.
01:03:33That started many years ago when people were asleep at the wheel in this country and they allowed that to happen.
01:03:40And I'm stopping it.
01:03:43And Donald Trump also praised White House Press Secretary Caroline Levite, calling her the best secretary anybody ever had, along with some unusual compliments.
01:03:52Listen in.
01:03:52It was a dramatic close-off play on the fourth day of the fifth test at the Oval.
01:04:19England was cruising to yet another historic chase and with just 35 runs needed, rain interrupted the proceedings.
01:04:26With more than an hour's play still left in day was washed out due to heavy rain.
01:04:31Chasing 3.74, the hosts were in a spot of bother with 106 for 3 in the morning of the penultimate day.
01:04:37But what followed was a sensational counter-attack from Harry Brook and Joe Root.
01:04:42The duo added 195 runs for the fourth wicket to take the game away from Team India.
01:04:47Root's drop by Siraj proved very costly as he blasted a 98-ball, 111.
01:04:54Joe Root too smashed his 39th test stun and as the game got further away from the visitors,
01:04:59the Pacers picked two quick wickets including Roots to reduce England 3.39 for 6.
01:05:05A thrilling fifth day is promised as India need four wickets while for England it's just 35 runs.
01:05:11And my colleague Rahul Rawat is now joining us with more details on this.
01:05:19Rahul, England need 35 runs and four wickets is needed by India.
01:05:24A thriller final day loading at the Oval.
01:05:26Well, it's been a great test series here in England.
01:05:33It's a young Indian team and everybody thought that this test would get over on the fourth day.
01:05:40But just like the other four test matches, this is also now headed to the fifth day.
01:05:47Well, there was a point when everything was lost as far as India was concerned.
01:05:52But then those couple of wickets, especially after that dismissal of Harry Brook and India came back into the game.
01:06:01Although they have just a glimmer of hope, but it would have been better for India if the game would have ended yesterday itself.
01:06:08Because perhaps they had the momentum at that time and England certainly wanted to leave the field and come back again tomorrow.
01:06:19Well, bad light and after that rain helped them.
01:06:23But then it's been a great series so far and perhaps a fitting end to the series.
01:06:29Although India would have wanted the series with a scoreline of 2-1.
01:06:34Right, Rahul also centuries from Joe Root and Harry Brook have taken the game from India.
01:06:40But spirited spells from the Indian Pacers towards the end.
01:06:43Do you think they have given India an outside chance?
01:06:48To be honest, India were a bowler shot.
01:06:51But the other three bowlers, Mohamed Siraj especially, who has played all five test matches, has bowled his heart out.
01:07:01And Akash Teep and Prasiddh Krishna did really well to come back into the game.
01:07:07But to get India back into the game, but in the second innings, well, the Indian captain would have wanted them to do a bit more.
01:07:18Especially in that second session between lunch and tea, where Harry Brook and Joe Root seem to be running away with the game.
01:07:27But then they were the ones who got India back into the game.
01:07:3135 runs, perhaps on day 5, England will have the option of taking a heavy role, which would even out the wicket.
01:07:40And England would certainly start as favourites in this game.
01:07:44But yes, hats off to the Indian bowlers as far as their experience is concerned.
01:07:50Jaspreet Bumra played just three games.
01:07:52But then India won that H-Baston test match without Jaspreet Bumra here again.
01:07:58They've come back, but perhaps it could be a case of a little too late for the Indians.
01:08:08Right Rahul, thank you for those details.
01:08:10All eyes now remain on the fifth day of the fifth test at Oval.
01:08:15Divya Deshmukh is the talk of the town.
01:08:17A world chess champion with a bright future ahead.
01:08:20My colleague Siddharth Vishwanathan caught up with the 19-year-old Grandmaster for an exclusive conversation.
01:08:26Listen in.
01:08:27Divya Deshmukh.
01:08:28Divya, there is a very viral video that has been going on.
01:08:32I mean, you, Gukesh, Leon in one video, you're all there discussing the nuances of the game.
01:08:37You also had another video in which the aggression.
01:08:40Now, the way how you played, even in the rapid tiebreakers, the openings were very drawish.
01:08:46Catalan, Queen's Gambit.
01:08:48But your aggression ensured that there could be some kind of counterplay.
01:08:51How do you bring about this aggression?
01:08:53Right from the very beginning, what is the one thing that has always motivated you to be so aggressive on the chessboard?
01:09:00I think it's just the way I have been brought up.
01:09:05It's been with me for years.
01:09:07It's nothing new for me.
01:09:08So, for me, it's just inbuilt to look for aggressive ways to complicate the game.
01:09:16I think I am much better in those situations.
01:09:19So, I think it's just natural.
01:09:21Can I call you now the Chinese Grandmaster Killer?
01:09:25Because you have been on a roll ever since last month, before the World Cup.
01:09:30You beat Hu Yifan in the World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships, which got appreciation from the Prime Minister also.
01:09:36And Hu Yifan is one of the best Chinese players in the world at this point.
01:09:40You've beaten Zhu Jinar.
01:09:42You've beaten Tan Zongi.
01:09:44What is that one thing that has made you so consistent against the Chinese?
01:09:47What is that one weakness that you've uncovered in this whole situation?
01:09:52Because you've been beating them consistently for the past one month.
01:09:58It's a tough question.
01:10:00I don't know if it's about them.
01:10:04Of course, all of them are very strong chess players.
01:10:08But I think there was nothing new that I did.
01:10:11I just kept fighting till the end.
01:10:13And I think that is what helped me.
01:10:15We are in really the golden period of chess.
01:10:17That Gukesh at the age of 18 is the world champion.
01:10:21Pranav Venkatesh is the world junior champion.
01:10:24You and Hampi are in the candidates.
01:10:26And you have been consistently doing well.
01:10:29But there's a slight dark undercurrent in the fact that you are now only our fourth women Grandmaster.
01:10:35Female Grandmaster.
01:10:37There is a question asked.
01:10:38Why doesn't India produce more female Grandmasters?
01:10:42And with this win, are you hopeful that yes, we will now start producing more female Grandmasters from India on a consistent basis?
01:10:50Definitely.
01:10:51I was very happy when Hampi reached the finals.
01:10:55Because for Indian chess, I think it's a great thing that the cup comes to India.
01:11:00For Indian young girls especially.
01:11:02Because they are going to take motivation either way.
01:11:05Whether I win or Hampi wins, it's going to be very inspiring for them.
01:11:08So I was very happy when that happened.
01:11:11And I'm hoping that it does encourage a lot of young girls.
01:11:16And I think due to the recent chess boom, it's quite obvious that this is not the end and there are going to be many more.
01:11:25And with that, it is a wrap on this bulletin.
