This special report focuses on the intense seat-sharing negotiations within Bihar's Mahagathbandhan alliance, involving key figures like Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge. As the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress tussle over seat allocation and the Chief Ministerial candidate, the alliance faces significant internal challenges. According to our correspondent, Congress 'is in huddle, whether we should go ahead and declare, Tejaswi Adav as chief fiscal candidate, because obviously, this would, this would make Congress party compromising on the position of, of corruption.' The hesitation stems from charges being framed against Tejashwi Yadav in the IRCTC case, creating a major roadblock for the grand alliance ahead of the crucial elections. The report delves into the disputes over key constituencies like Kehlgaon and Vaishali and the potential impact on the opposition's unity.
00:00Tejasvi Yadav will be filing his nomination from Ragopur seat on October 15, two days from now he will be filing his nomination, expected to be a big, big show of strength by the RJD.
00:17But let's also tell you what's happening as far as the seat sharing talks are concerned. Sources telling us that the Congress is expected to get about 60 seats in the Mahakat Bandhan and reportedly there's no question of any sort of dispute on this between the Congress and the RJD.
00:33Looks like all issues have been ironed out. They're on board. And at this point, we understand that there are just about two to three seats, which they're figuring out because both parties are taking claim to the seats.
00:46But we are hearing from our sources that there's a possibility of an announcement tomorrow.
00:52Let me bring in Rahul Gautam. He tracks the Congress for us very, very closely. Rahul, are we expecting an announcement tomorrow?
00:59There was a lot of talk that the Congress will not get their demand of 60 seats.
01:07Well, absolutely, Akshita. Congress has made it very clear that they're not going to go below 60 seats.
01:14And we are learning from our sources that Congress was earlier offered 54 seats by the RJD, but this was rejected by the Congress.
01:22And Congress is insisting for 60 seats.
01:24In fact, there are two, three seats, namely Kehelgaon, Vaishali, Narkat Yaganj, which have become a sort of a bone of contention between RJD and Congress because both parties are taking their claim over these seats.
01:37And in fact, you know, as far as Congress was concerned, they are saying they are maintaining that all the disputes have been resolved.
01:44But at the face of it, if you see and if you just, you know, peel off the layers, it seems that all is not well, given the fact that, you know, Tejasvi Adav is in Delhi.
01:53He was in the national capital. He met Bihar leaders. Rahul Gandhi and Malika Arjun Kharki, they both are in the national capital.
01:59They also met Bihar leaders. But, you know, no meeting happened between Rahul Gandhi, Tejasvi Adav and Malika Arjun Kharki.
02:06It is quite unusual on the part of Mahagat Bandhan and Alliance Dharma. And in fact, we have been informed that a phone call, a phone conversation took place between Tejasvi Adav and Malika Arjun Kharki and all is well.
02:19But there is one, another issue, you know, which is becoming a bone of contention. And that's, you also highlighted that, that RJD's leaders are insisting that Tejasvi Adav should be declared as the chief ministerial candidate of Mahagat Bandhan.
02:34However, there's rethinking happening on the part of Congress party because we all know that how charges were framed today in Rouse Avenue court in the case of IRCTC.
02:44And therefore, you know, Congress is in huddle that whether we should go ahead and declare Tejasvi Adav as chief ministerial candidate because obviously this would, this would make Congress party compromising on the position of corruption.
02:57So, so therefore, there are, there are multiple issues that there are a couple of seats and also Congress are maintaining that there's no issue pending between RJD and Congress.
03:06But there's VIP and CPI ML who are seeking, you know, big chunk of seats which might not be possible on the part of Mahagat Bandhan, you know, alliance partners, RJD and Congress.
03:16So, a lot of issues going by what you're telling us, Rahul, a lot of issues for the Mahagat Bandhan to iron out even going forward.
03:23But we're hearing that there's a possibility of an announcement being made tomorrow.
