New Birmingham rail stations to open early next year

Three long-awaited railway stations on Birmingham’s Camp Hill line are finally nearing completion. Kings Heath, Moseley Village and Pineapple Road are expected to open in early 2026, reconnecting south Birmingham to the rail network for the first time since 1941.

00:00It's been over 80 years since trains last stopped on the Camp Hill line through South Birmingham.

00:07The new Kings Heath, Moseley Village and Pineapple Road stations eyeing to change that,

00:23Originally due to open in 2023, it is now expected to launch in early 2026.

00:28A delay blamed on rising construction costs, supply shortages and funding pressures

00:36The total bill is now expected to exceed £60 million

00:39with questions raised in Parliament over who will cover the overspend.

00:44Each station will have two platforms, lifts, footbridges and secure cycle storage.
