00:00So when you look at this team and your expectations going into the season,
00:05have they exceeded them?
00:07And what is the limit?
00:09Like, where do you cap the promise of this team this season?
00:13It certainly looks good for a long time, but for this season.
00:18Yeah.
00:19So, Fred, I think if we go back, I think I said eight wins at the start of the season.
00:22They're halfway there.
00:23So I don't think I would have expected they'd be halfway there at this point.
00:28So they're ahead of where I thought they would be.
00:32I don't cap it, Fred.
00:34I think anything is possible.
00:36The AFC is wide, wide, wide open to me.
00:40The things that would concern me for the Patriots is depth.
00:43If they get a run of injuries, they're not the deepest team.
00:47But right now, when they have to bring the next man up, they are getting by.
00:52Like yesterday, a good example, Jalen Hawkins starting safety doesn't play.
00:56Kyle Duggar plays every snap.
00:58After not playing or after playing just one snap the week before.
01:04So I think it's all there for them.
01:07The schedule is favorable.
01:09And there's a lot to look forward to the rest of the season.
01:12So you think they could make the Super Bowl?
01:15Why not?
01:16I mean, Fred, I know that's going to be a headline.
01:18And please don't do that to me, anyone that's listening to this.
01:22Do you know what I mean?
01:23Well, you said it sounded like you were getting there.
01:26You said the AFC is wide open, and that is true.
01:29So do you think that they could get to the Super Bowl?
01:31So do I think they could get to the Super Bowl?
01:37I wouldn't bet on it.
01:38But why say they wouldn't?
01:40They've been in all six games.
01:43Who else?
01:43You guys tell me.
01:45Who else in the AFC would you say is definitely going there?
01:51Buffalo for one.
01:52I don't know if there's definitely anyone.
01:54That is a good point.
01:55But Buffalo is the odds-on favorite.
01:57I watched Kansas City beat Detroit last night.
02:00I don't think they're done.
02:01I mean, there are some monsters out there.
02:04I agree.
02:06But you think Buffalo is a monster.
02:08What happened in week five when the Patriots went into Buffalo?
02:12Now, that's a very good win.
02:14But I think at the end of the season,
02:17Buffalo is going to have more wins than the Patriots do.
02:19So, and, John, like, have you matched up their schedules?
02:24I don't disagree with you, and I think that's a safe play.
02:29But they got some tough games on their schedule, Buffalo.
02:33If I remember right, Tampa.
02:34If I remember right, Kansas City.
02:36I believe Baltimore is on there.
02:39Well, Baltimore is not what they use.
02:41Yeah, like being in a position to get there is one thing.
02:44And, yeah, I think we're all, you know, thinking about playoffs as a possibility
02:48or even a probability way more than we were at the beginning of the season.
02:51But I can rattle off four or five teams in the AFC right now
02:55that I don't love the Patriots' chances against even in a divisional round.
03:00The Broncos, the Colts.
03:02I don't – the Steelers seem to be playing better.
03:05There's – and I don't like them again against Buffalo,
03:10and I certainly don't like them against the Chiefs.
03:13So – but all those teams are fine, Hardy.
03:15But if you've watched the Patriots in six games, have they been in every game?
03:21Mm-hmm.
03:21Yeah.
03:22So that's my point is they've been in every game.
03:25So all those teams you mentioned, I don't disagree with what you said.
03:28I think they would be in the game with all six of those teams,
03:33which is why I say anything's possible and enjoy it.
03:36We haven't had this for the last three years.
03:40Like this is professional football played at a pretty good level
03:43with room for improvement with a pretty good quarterback here
03:47who's getting better by the week.
03:49So that's all I'm saying.
