00:00His Excellency President Herzog and his wife, Michal, Excellencies, distinguished guests,
00:23and, of course, first and foremost, our biggest and truest friend, the President of the United
00:32States, President Donald J. Trump.
00:46Welcome.
00:47Welcome to Jerusalem, our eternal capital.
00:53Welcome, sir.
00:55Welcome to Israel on this very moving day that will be forever engraved in the history of
01:06our nation.
01:07And you too, President, Mr. President, you too will be engraved in the history of our people
01:14and in the history of humankind.
01:16But as you know, and as it is said of us, we remember our friends.
01:23We know what your part is in all of this, how critical, what a critical part you have played
01:31in bringing back our hostages.
01:33On this day, we were just informed an hour or so ago that all our live hostages have come
01:44back to us.
01:46It is so very moving, so very exciting.
01:53We have waited for this moment for so long, and we are committed to bringing all of them
01:59back.
02:00So I would like to thank you personally and on behalf of the entire nation.
02:05Thank you so much to you, President Trump.
02:15Now, I know that the teleprompters are working well, though I'm not using them.
02:27But I'm not sure about the translation.
02:29So I'll say words in English.
02:34President Trump, the Knesset welcomes you and your distinguished delegation to Jerusalem,
02:41our eternal capital.
02:43This is your first visit to Israel since you recognize Jerusalem as our capital and moved
02:50the embassy here.
02:51Thank you, President Trump, for that.
03:04There are many other reasons to thank you since your last visit here.
03:15Thank you for recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
03:26Thank you for standing up to the lies against Israel and the United Nations.
03:42Thank you for recognizing in your 2020 peace plan our rights in Judea and Samaria, the ancestral
03:55homeland of the Jewish people.
03:57Thank you for the Jewish people.
04:06Thank you for brokering the historic Abraham Accords.
04:11Abraham.
04:12Abraham.
04:13Thank you for withdrawing from the disastrous Iran nuclear deal.
04:34Thank you for supporting Operation Rising Line and for your bold decision to launch Operation
04:41Midnight Hammer.
04:42Boy, is that – you've got to hear this.
04:47This is the most fitting name ever named for a military operation because a little after
04:59midnight, you really hammered them.
05:06My friends, this is only a partial list.
05:11But it's enough to affirm what I've said time and again.
05:15Donald Trump is the greatest friend that the State of Israel has ever had in the White House.
05:29No American president has ever done more for Israel.
05:52And as I said in Washington, it ain't even close.
05:56It's really not a match.
05:59Mr. President, today we welcome you here to thank you for your pivotal leadership in putting
06:07forward a proposal that got the backing of almost the entire world.
06:12A proposal – a proposal that brings all our hostages home.
06:19A proposal that ends the war by achieving all our objectives.
06:31A proposal that opens the door to an historic expansion of peace in our region and beyond
06:37our region.
06:38Mr. President, you are committed to this peace.
06:42I am committed to this peace.
06:44And together, Mr. President, we will achieve this peace.
06:49We've done it before.
06:54We've done it before in the Abraham Accords.
06:59And we'll do it again.
07:01Mr. President, today the Jewish calendar marks the end of two years of war.
07:07That war began on October 7th on the Jewish festival of Simchat Torah.
07:14You always tell me, and you tell the world, remember October 7th.
07:22Mr. President, we remember.
07:26We remember the thousands of Hamas terrorists who stormed into our towns in Kibbutzim.
07:33We remember the 1,200 people Hamas savagely slaughtered in cold blood, including dozens
07:40and dozens of Americans.
07:42We remember entire families burnt alive as they embraced each other.
07:49We remember the beautiful young Israelis brutally gunned down at the Nova Music Festival.
07:58We remember the hundreds of our citizens who were dragged into the dungeons of Gaza, including
08:0412 Americans, men and women, young and old, babies and elderly Holocaust survivors.
08:14My friends, Mr. President Donald, these monsters take babies as hostages.
08:26In response to this barbaric attack on October 7th, Israel did what it had to do.
08:33With indomitable courage, we set out to defend our people, to defeat our enemies and to release
08:41our hostages.
08:42Our heroic soldiers fought like lions.
08:47They fought on the frontlines of civilization and barbarism.
08:51Israel achieved amazing victories over Hamas and the entire Iran terror axis.
08:58Sinwar, Dev, Chania, Nasrallah, Assad, they're all gone.
09:04Iran's nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program, with your enormous help, Mr. President,
09:26rolled back.
09:27Half the Houthi leadership wiped out.
09:31But the price of this victory, the price of these victories, has been heavy.
09:38Nearly 2,000 of Israel's finest were lost, nearly half in battle.
09:44They left behind parents, spouses, siblings and children.
09:50Their love and laughter, their promise and potential, were lost forever.
09:58To the families of our fallen fighters, many of them are here, I say, I know the depth of
10:07your pain.
10:11I know the inconsolable grief that will accompany you for the rest of your lives.
10:20The State of Israel bows its head in eternal gratitude to our fallen heroes.
10:27Because of these heroes, our nation will survive.
10:33Because of these heroes, our nation will thrive.
10:37And because of these heroes, our nation will have peace.
10:43Mr. President, thousands of our brave soldiers were also wounded, suffering terrible blows to
10:53body and soul.
10:56Brave soldiers like Ari Speetz.
11:00Ari is an American.
11:05Ari is an American Israeli who was injured.
11:10I'd say cheated by the name of as the many times.
11:15Thank you very much.
11:19Ari is an American-Israeli who was injured in Gaza while searching for Hamas terrorists
11:47and weapons. Two of Ari's comrades were killed in this action and ten were injured. Ari was
11:55presumed dead but made a miraculous recovery despite losing three limbs.
12:05Ari, stand up for a minute alone. Stand up. There you go. There. Ari, you are the spirit
12:17of Joshua. You are the spirit of David. You are the spirit of the Maccabees. You are the
12:23spirit of Israel. I salute you. We all salute you.
12:36Sabine Tassa of Kibbutz Netiva Asara is watching us today from the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles.
12:55Sabine lost her husband and her oldest son on October 7th. She is the mother of three other
13:04boys. Two of them, Kohen and Shai, witnessed their father jump on a Hamas grenade to save
13:13his two sons. We all saw the film of those two boys crying out in pain. Father is dead. Why?
13:28Why did God save me? Mr. President, my friend Donald, I have seen some very tough things in
13:37my life. But I couldn't bring myself to watch those boys suffering again. So I didn't see
13:46this film except once. Yet Sabine, their mother, has had the strength and fortitude to show the
13:58entire world. And my wife Sarah and I asked her, Sabine, how do you do it? Why do you do
14:10it? And she answered, I do it to show the entire world the monsters Israel is fighting and the
14:20justice of our cause. This is what she's doing once again in Los Angeles. Sabine, you can hear
14:25me now. So I want to tell you on behalf of all of us, you embody the spirit of our biblical
14:32heroines, Deborah, Ruth and Esther. You too are the spirit of Israel. And we all salute you.
14:41Mr. President, you asked me on our many conversations during the 12-day war with Iran, you asked me,
15:03how are the people holding up? And I said to you, our people are strong. Israelis are a nation of lions,
15:12with unlimited resolve to defend our country and secure our future. The people, the people give strength
15:20to our soldiers and the people give strength to me and to my colleagues. The Jewish people have risen from
15:28the ashes time and the ashes time and again. But when we formed the state of Israel and the army of Israel,
15:34we pledged never again, never again would be defenseless against our enemies. And that, that resolute strength
15:46not only assures our survival, it assures our future. It assures peace. We have paid, we have paid a high price for this war.
15:55We have paid a high price for this war. But our enemies now understand just how powerful
16:02and just how determined Israel is. They understand that attacking Israel on October 7th was a catastrophic mistake.
16:12They understand that Israel is strong and that Israel is here to stay. And this, Mr. President, is the indispensable
16:21foundation of peace. Peace through strength.
16:27Ladies and gentlemen, this is a momentous day, a day of great joy as the remaining hostages come home.
16:36My wife Sarah and I have met with the hostage families many times. There were no words to describe their agony,
16:44only tears of bottomless sorrow and unimaginable pain. At the beginning of the war, I promised to bring all the hostages home.
16:56Today, with the indispensable help, the determined and focused help, the unremitting help of President Trump's esteem,
17:06and with the incredible sacrifice and courage of the soldiers of Israel, we are fulfilling that promise.
17:21It has been a long journey to get here. In the first week of the war, our brave soldiers put military pressure on Hamas,
17:31and the international community put diplomatic pressure on them. This enabled us to secure the release of over 100 hostages.
17:41In heroic rescue attempts behind enemy lines, Israel's Special Forces rescued eight live hostages
17:48and brought back the remains of dozens more. But as time went on, we all know what happened.
17:56The diplomatic pressure was turned on its head. More and more governments bought into Hamas's false propaganda.
18:05More and more governments succumbed to anti-Semitic mobs in their own countries. They just turned on Israel.
18:12They called for us to surrender to Hamas's demands. Just leave Gaza immediately, they said. End the war without committing to disarm Hamas,
18:21without committing to demilitarize Gaza. Had Israel succumbed to those demands,
18:27not only would Sinwar, Nasrallah, Assad, and Iran's missile and nuclear program remain intact.
18:36Not only that, because in no time, the Hamas killers would be back on the border fence,
18:43ready to repeat the horrors of October 7th again and again, as they vowed to do.
18:49But just at that point, just at that point of maximum pressure on Israel,
18:56a man named Donald J. Trump was elected President of the United States.
19:02And, ladies and gentlemen, overnight, overnight, everything changed. Everything.
19:21Mr. President, thanks to your unequivocal backing of Israel,
19:30we secured a second hostage deal within weeks of your election.
19:36And in the months that followed, we worked closely together to forge a path to bring the remaining hostages home
19:43and end the war. End the war in a way that ensures the disarming of Hamas, the demilitarization of Gaza,
19:50and that Gaza would never again pose a threat to Israel.
19:54Two months ago, you fully backed my decision to send the IDF into the last Hamas stronghold in Gaza City.
20:02You shared my view that this military pressure would help free the hostages.
20:07And despite all the criticism, all the naysayers, we were right.
20:13Hamas caved in.
20:17And two weeks ago, you succeeded in doing something miraculous.
20:25You succeeded in doing something that no one believed was possible.
20:31You brought most of the Arab world, you brought most of the world,
20:38behind your proposal to free the hostages and end the war.
20:43I want to thank Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Ron Dermer for their great contribution to this effort.
21:13And I want to thank our negotiating team.
21:19I believe that the close cooperation between the two of us, between our two nations,
21:26combining Israel's military pressure and President Trump's unmatched global leadership.
21:33I have to tell you, I've seen a lot of American presidents.
21:36I've seen them all in the time that I've been here, and I've been here quite a lot of time.
21:41I've never seen anyone move the world so quickly, so decisively, so resolutely, as our friend President Donald J. Trump.
21:56With our military pressure and President Trump's global leadership, we achieved this historic moment.
22:09It's a moment of indescribable joy as our nation embraces our sons who are coming home.
22:28Mr. President, this week, Jews around the world, Jews around the world are going to read the Book of Ecclesiastes, Kohelet, in the Bible.
22:45The Bible has many miraculous moments.
22:50One of them was your decision to bomb Fordow.
23:00I think it was a pivot of history.
23:04Because it wasn't meant only to bomb Fordow.
23:07That action, and your previous action, of taking out Qasem Soleimani, the architect of death,
23:17I think that changed the balance of power in the world.
23:23You brought America back again to the driver's seat.
23:35Now, I said that we're going to read this week the Book of Ecclesiastes.
23:42It has – it's not a book of action.
23:45It's a book of meditations, of thought, of perspective on life and on death.
23:55And in this book we read the immortal words of King Solomon.
23:59To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
24:05Et milchama ve et shalom – a time for peace and a time for war.
24:14The last two years have been a time of war.
24:18The coming years will hopefully be a time for peace.
24:23Peace inside Israel and peace outside Israel.
24:50I look forward to continuing marching with you on the path we paved together with the Abraham Accords.
24:59Under your leadership, we can forge new peace treaties with Arab countries in the region and Muslim countries beyond the region.
25:09Abraham's children will work together to build a better future.
25:14A future – a future that will unite civilization against barbarism, light against darkness, and hope against despair.
25:26And my friends, I believe that with President Trump's leadership, this will happen a lot faster than people think.
25:37As Prime Minister of Israel, I extend my hand to hold those who seek peace with us.
25:49No one wants peace more than the people of Israel.
25:54Israel will always remain vigilant in defending itself.
25:58And Israel will always remain full of hope.
26:03Hope is our national anthem.
26:05Hope is our creed.
26:07Hope is our strength.
26:09It is time, my friends, to realize that hope and expand the circle of peace.
26:16Mr. President, thank you for all you have done for us.
26:23I have submitted your nomination to be the first non-Israeli recipient of the Israel Prize, Israel's highest award.
26:36As to that other prize, just a question of time, you'll get it.
26:41But I want you to get the Israel Prize, our highest award, to our greatest friend.
26:48When others were weak, you were strong.
27:07When others were fearful, you were bold.
27:10When others abandoned us, you stood by our side.
27:14On behalf of the government and people of Israel, I thank you for your extraordinary friendship.
27:20Thank you for helping bring our hostages home.
27:23Thank you for supporting Israel's march to victory.
27:26Thank you for paving a path to peace.
27:29In the United States, the United States, the United States, Donald.
27:33Thank you for joining us.
27:34Thank you for joining us.
27:36Thank you for joining us.
27:38The Excellency, my good friend, President Donald Trump, welcome again.
27:41Welcome to Israel, welcome to Jerusalem, welcome on this very exciting day.
27:45And now to recite the blessing.
27:48We are very fortunate to be alive, to have reached and to be here on this special day.
27:55Thank you very much.
