00:01Welcome everyone, to today's important sports update, Gleyber Torres is set to undergo surgery,

00:06after the Tigers 3-2 defeat in Game 5 of the American League Division Series on Friday,

00:11Torres revealed that he will have a procedure to address a sports hernia on his right side.

00:16The second baseman for the Tigers mentioned that this issue has been a source of considerable pain

00:21for him during the latter part of the season. Generally, the recovery time for core surgery

00:26is approximately two months, which involves rest and rehabilitation. In spite of the pain he

00:32experienced, the 28-year-old Torres chose to delay the surgery until the off-season to minimize the

00:37impact on his playing time. He signed a one-year contract worth $15 million with Detroit on December

00:4427. If the Tigers do not offer him a qualifying offer, he will become a free agent five days after

00:50the conclusion of the World Series. It was not really good. From the start of the second half,

01:52batting in the second position. His performance can be broken down as follows. In the first half,

01:5784 games, he had a batting line of .281, .387, .425, hitting 9 home runs, 16 doubles, and driving in 45

02:06runs, with 46 strikeouts. In the second half, 61 games, his numbers dropped to .223, .320, .339, with 7 home runs,
