00:00This was the most terrifying half hour of her life, when her ex-boyfriend she hadn't seen in 12 years lingered outside her house.
00:12He didn't try to be discreet at all, waving to neighbors as they peered through their windows.
00:22It was 3 a.m. and she was fast asleep, but he was about to wake her up.
00:27He had been blocked multiple times over the years and never took any notice.
00:33She was frozen in fear, home alone with her family out of town.
00:40The window was unlocked, so she tried to stay as still as possible.
00:43But had he already heard her?
00:52She had to call 911.
00:53But when they arrived, they didn't exactly help.
00:57I do want to emphasize that I have not incentivized him in any way to come around into my life or to my home.
01:05I knew him when we were 14, 15.
01:07I don't know him now, so he is a stranger to me.
01:10And as far as the restraining order, they told me I didn't have enough evidence to proceed with one.
01:18And the police station did not file a report.
01:21Without a restraining order, he could come back at any time.
01:24I wasn't going to lie about who he was, especially because he did make it a point to say that his ex-girlfriend or his girlfriend lived here.
01:31So when the officers came to my door to ask me questions, like, I did say the truth, you know, that I didn't know him.
01:39But we dated like 12 years ago when we were like 14, 15.
01:43They hadn't seen each other in years, but he never forgot her address.
01:46The officer said that they weren't going to arrest him because he technically wasn't breaking in.
01:53I'm not necessarily sure if trespassing is a label in my county.
01:58I'm not sure how that works.
01:59So a couple weeks ago, he did call one of our mutuals from prison asking some information
02:07and pretty much informed our mutual that he was in there for assaulting a police officer and he's waiting for sentencing.
02:15This guy was clearly dangerous and needed to be kept away from her home.
02:20I am okay for now.
02:22He is homeless.
02:23I genuinely don't think that he'll come back around.
02:28But if he does, I don't live alone.
02:30It was just so happened to be that the week he came around, I was home alone.
02:37Family was out of town.
