00:00Welcome to Odyssey. Yours truly, Jason, Romeo International. How you doing, man?
00:04I'm good, Romeo. How are you, mate?
00:06Tell you how good I am. I gotta do this for you. I like this. This, this. Action, you. Action, Jason. I love Action, Jason.
00:14Oh, bless you, man. Thank you very much. I'm glad. I feel your love, buddy.
00:19I got hooked after the second episode.
00:22Did you?
00:22The plane scene?
00:23Yeah.
00:23Oh.
00:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:25Very well done.
00:26It is, isn't it? It's a wild ride.
00:28How did you prepare for the cold, the action, the intense acting that you're doing between how you interact with your wife and your officers?
00:37Like, how did you prep for this? I haven't seen you in anything like this.
00:40I bought a Theragun to massage my bones and my joints. I bought a lot of mineral bath salts to soak in. You know, I found myself a good masseuse.
00:49You're mentally prepared. You know, though I said this is going to be a marathon.
00:52The big action sequences, working with Sam Hargraves, the ambition of the sequences and the show as a whole were the reasons I wanted to do it.
01:01You know, to challenge myself at this point in my career and do as you said.
01:04It's time to start throwing it down, you know, and not leave it to the Chris Hemsworths and, you know, and all these young kids to do it.
01:11You know what I mean?
01:11So that was one of the great loves of it, one of the excitements of doing it.
01:15And then you just got to, you know, you got to prepare. You got to focus. They're dangerous.
01:18You know, there's skills. You know, it's like, I want to ride that horse. I want to be on that dog sled.
01:22I want to be on that skidoo, you know, and I was able to spend the time to get it and practice it and do it, you know, and deliver it.
01:28So that's why I love it when guys like you just say, man, I felt it. I loved it. I enjoyed it.
01:31You know, we, we, we aim to entertain on this series.
01:34Gotcha. When you first got the script, did you bite into the suspense?
01:39Because it's very well written.
01:41Yes.
01:41This is me outside of the action, but I'm watching three individual stories at once and they're all colliding like a thunderstorm.
01:50I mean, you, first of all, you're like, yes, that's exactly it, dude.
01:53I mean, I, I read them and I get another one and I read it and I go, wow, he's holding this.
01:58This is still working. This is suspense. I still don't know what's going on.
02:00I'm not able to feel safe and I know what this is.
02:03I know where this is going because I didn't.
02:05And I kept praying to God it wouldn't just get stupid all of a sudden, you know, or it'd fall apart in one episode or one, one sequence.
02:11John, through 10 years of the blacklist is nobody's fool.
02:14You know, he knows how to deliver twists and turns.
02:17And he's also got the strength and tenacity to take care of that and ensure every director and every actor adheres to, you know, the storyline.
02:25Because he brings you out the other end of this storm of this, this, you know, insane roller coaster, you know,
02:30and you land, he sticks the landing.
02:32You know, that was the stuff, as you said, I bit into because it makes it easier for me.
02:36You know, the story's doing a lot of the work for me.
02:38I've got to stay on the river, though.
02:40You know what I mean?
02:41I'll get my Theragun out, my mineral salts and just stay on this river.
02:44Because sometimes, you know, it was, it was hard to hang on.
02:47You know, there's so much going on.
02:48Can I ask you one question?
02:49Yeah.
02:49What's on your hat?
02:50Atlanta United.
02:51It's a soccer team.
02:52Oh, you're in Atlanta.
02:53Yeah.
02:54Oh, dude, that's what I thought, because I've got, I just shot in Atlanta.
02:57I shot the Murdoch murders in Atlanta with, with some of the coolest, loveliest people.
03:02I had such a good time, my family and I.
03:04The big A.
03:05How do they do it?
03:06Well, you don't let me know.
03:06What do you do that?
03:07You do this?
03:08Yeah, yeah, that's it.
03:09Yeah.
03:10Shout out to Atlanta.
03:11Great place.
