00:09people are pausing to reflect on well-being and here in the capital one of our most iconic

00:17landmarks the london eye is lighting up in purple symbolizing hope awareness and support for mental

00:25health now mental health affects us all whether it's through our own experiences or those of people

00:33we care about yet too often it's something we struggle to talk about now mental health day is

00:39about changing that it's a reminder that looking after our minds is just as important as looking

00:45after our bodies and that help understanding and compassion can make all the difference when it

00:52comes to mental health now across london communities workplaces and schools are taking time to

00:59connect share stories and check in on one another from local initiatives to national charities and

01:05even football teams in the capital as well taking the opportunity for fans to check in on match days

01:12but as the london eye lights up purple over the thames it's worth asking does this kind of display

01:20really make a difference does it encourage people to reach out to talk to speak to help or has it

01:26become a gesture that looks good on social media uh but risks losing its real meaning as long as it

01:34helps raising awareness of course yeah and it does i guess so yeah when you say initiative i mean

01:40i mean yeah it shows that people are willing to do something but i don't think it's anywhere

01:44as important like as moment of day i mean lighting up the london eye i don't think it's it's good

01:49enough for it's an action you know i mean i still think it's enough yeah i mean had you heard about

01:55it already i've only found out just you told me yeah i think it's a good idea because it will like

02:01attract more people to look at it and then they'll like wonder why it's like that and they'll look it

02:05up and then they'll realize about mental health so more people was it will spread more awareness well you

02:10shouldn't even be asking this i mean it should go but you know people should sort of be aware even

02:16without needing to talk about because i think it's a big problem a lot of people experience that i mean

02:22if you if you go online you're gonna realize that it's actually epidemic so yeah it's a good thing yeah

02:30and i didn't know so yeah i don't think it's ever going to be enough because obviously people still

02:34died due to mental health so i don't think it's ever going to be enough but the more that we spread it

02:38the more people will gain awareness about it yeah i'm not sure what i'd like to see i just think

02:43i'd like to see more done you know it's easy for me to say because i'm not the one taking action but

02:48i just think the ones that do have the power i think there's fools in their court you know i

02:53think lying up the london eye is kind of half-assed there's more there's more important steps they could
