00:00What I didn't know, that he's, listen, all those superstars are very competitive, but he's also, he can get a little feisty too, you know, he showed it even in practice, he was all out the last couple weeks, he was not shy of hitting guys in practice too, and that shows me that he's a leader, you know, he wants to show it on the ice, not just in game,
00:29but also in practices too.
00:31Okay, now just to close the loop, Family Matters is indeed a spinoff of Perfect Strangers.
00:35That's wild.
00:35Harry at work with Larry and Belki.
00:37That's amazing.
00:38Okay, so there you go.
00:39It is a small world.
00:41Marco Sturm, though, is just going on and on, he's like, boy, that posture dog, what a feisty leader.
00:45What a feisty little fella he is.
00:47Isn't it strange?
00:48Because it seemed like at the end of last year, which was a debacle, right, they trade Marchand, which you never trade captains, we were told, on this very show, but they did trade their captain, they traded a bunch of other players.
00:56By an expert.
00:57Correct.
00:57Yeah, we were actually, we were chastised, actually, is what we were.
01:01Yes, yes, yes, and then he got traded, and then we were left at the altar.
01:04But, so you don't trade captains, they do trade their captain, they trade a bunch of other players, and then the team sank like a stone.
01:09But even around all that, I thought Pasternak, which surprisingly didn't strike you as somebody that would be a leader, kind of morphed into one.
01:18I don't know if he looked around and was like, all right, I kind of have to be, or whatever it was.
01:22Because the best player isn't always the leader, right?
01:25But in this case, I wonder if he felt like...
01:28I think in some sports, by default, they kind of have to be.
01:30Your quarterback kind of has to be.
01:31The best player in the NBA kind of has to be.
01:34In the NHL, though, I agree, definitely your best player does not have to be your captain.
01:37Oftentimes, they're not.
01:38And so, it seemed like he took on a lot of that responsibility.
01:42The only other candidate they had was McAvoy, but remember, he was hurt.
01:46After the Four Nations, he wasn't around as much.
01:47So, if Pasternak's such a great leader, and this is what Sturm is going on and on and on, what a great leader, what a feisty little guy.
01:55If he's such a great leader, why isn't he the captain?
01:56I don't know.
01:57So, why don't they have a captain?
01:58Was it because last year they didn't like how things went with him?
02:01And they were like, we don't want to promote it too far?
02:04I don't know.
02:04Or was Marchand such a bad captain that they've had their little reserve just to give it out to somebody?
02:10They went from Chara and Bergeron, which would be like two captains on any team that they were on.
02:18Right?
02:18Like, those guys are literally what you would think of as a hockey captain.
02:21And maybe they got kind of burned last go around, and they're like, do we want to just hand it out?
02:27But it feels weird to go into the season with just three alternate captains.
