Economy Minister Kung Ming-hsin says the government is working to increase energy storage capacity amid reports the country would quickly use up its fuel reserves in the event of a Chinese blockade.

00:08That's after a Wall Street Journal report found that Taiwan's energy reserves would be used up quickly if China were to blockade the country.
00:16Liquefied natural gas would be gone after a week, while coal would last about seven weeks.
00:21Aside from increased storage, Gong says Taiwan is developing more renewable sources.
00:26The government aims for renewables to make up 20% of the country's energy mix by next year.
00:31Taiwan currently imports almost all of its energy.
