00:40The statement from Beijing comes as governments around the world are scrambling for alternative energy supplies,
00:46amid conflict in the Middle East and shipping disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz.
00:51Taiwan, which had received a third of its liquefied natural gas from Qatar,
00:56and sources no energy from China, has said it has secured alternative supplies for the months ahead,
01:03including from the US, the island's main international backer.
