00:09Taiwan's 2025 National Defense Report, released on Thursday,
00:13says China is speeding up its military modernization
00:16and has been combining conventional and unconventional tools,
00:19from gray zone tactics to military measures.
00:30The report highlights Taiwan's plans to focus on using asymmetric tactics
00:47and decentralized operations, not just on land, sea, and air,
00:51but also in cyberspace, in a concept called multi-domain denial.
00:56It calls for more practical training, improved joint operations,
01:00and a stronger reserve force,
01:02in the hopes of deterring Chinese military provocations
01:04and safeguarding the Taiwan Straits and broader Indo-Pacific region.

01:24Taiwan has recently been facing a surge in drone harassment from China,
01:29also part of Beijing's gray zone tactics.
01:31The report says troops will stay alert to these threats
01:34by conducting more night drills
01:36and equipping them with jamming guns, rifles, and machine guns,
01:40with the goal of eventually deploying dedicated counter-drone system.
