00:00hi everybody welcome to a new season of on cinema at the cinema I'm your host
00:15new heidecker this is a news for a movie news program and we talked about new movies and give
00:23you guys an update on what you should see ways skip we are here at the the high network ESA
00:29campus still we're still in a transition period and I am joined by movie host or I should say movie
00:38expert expert from the VSA and movie buff Greg Turkington is with us hey guys one thing you
00:46didn't mention is reviews also in part of me should movie news I'm saying Greg Turkington from the VSA
00:52is with us here to talk about movies and the new and review the movies which is the one thing you
00:57didn't mention in your intro but we have a lot of movies to review today we're going to get right
01:02into it with the movie well I want to give a little update on where things are standing right now we
01:07wanted to be in a bigger space and a more professional studio here but and I was on pretty
01:12big and pretty professional are you going to interrupt me everything there's nothing wrong
01:15with the studio are you going to interrupt me at every turn no I might install a hand raise policy
01:22with you at this point well okay so I'm going to raise my act like an adult act like an adult
01:29expertise act like an adult you're on television and people look to you for expertise but you're
01:34acting like a child the way you're talking right after our summer roundup about a couple weeks later
01:40over the July 4th weekend I suffered a massive uh illness um came out of nowhere woke up in the middle
01:47of the night and from that period but for about two weeks I could not get myself out of bed
01:53uh high fever I was not able to keep anything down food wise stuff was coming out of me from every
02:00end um I was very sick very close to the end um knocking on heaven's door in a lot of ways and
02:08could not determine what was going on and one of these nights I couldn't sleep I was tossing and
02:14turning sweating and the odor from me and you you had to stay out of the the room for that period
02:20because the odor coming from me was so intense I couldn't even stand it my odor was making me sick
02:26and it was sort of this cyclical sickness that was I was making myself sick um pain it felt like a
02:34thousand knives were stabbing me in every single one of my pores I couldn't even be touched you know
02:40would be touching you I'd be I couldn't do my self massage but I was looking through my emails
02:49trying to catch up and trying to get this show back on track and I happened to I never do it I
02:54went into my junk mail and my spam filter and it's kind of a neat life lesson is if you do have a spam
03:01filter is every once in a while jump in there and check out see what's in there because it's sort
03:06like mining for gold there's a lot of junk in there it's all scams shut up it's a lot of
03:11interesting stuff that you can find in your spam it's sometimes that they're almost too conservative
03:18with what they're filtering out I think but I happened to find an email from this company that
03:24I used to have some association with called Rio Genesis and Rio Genesis which I thought had gone
03:32out of business had gone out of business and had been bought and rebranded relaunched under the
03:41leadership of a gentleman from China named Dr. Jiang Wang who's a like John Wayne no Jiang Jiang Wang and
03:53really does sound like John Wayne from the searchers there's been so much new data and research done by Dr. Jiang Wang that we now I'm feeling confident and the thing that they've brought into the mix which is really exciting is this they have a way to determine the age of your organs so we all
04:23have a certificate that's right well you have your age your your the year you were born the day you were born but your organs your interior organs at least develop at a very different rate and I think so depending on your environmental the influence that the environment has on you or what you do to your body how you behave your organs are going to age at a different rate so what they did Rio Genesis has they provide you this at home organ
04:53a validating kit and what a dating kit and so I ordered this thing I'm telling you I could barely get out of bed but I was able to order this and it came right here to the ESA and we are given you know a little survey to do and you're offered the opportunity to submit they go they could say you can get up to three liquids from your body so that can do the testing so you can donate blood semen urine but you do have to do a stool sample so there's a stool sample and then your choice of
05:22liquid. So I did urine and blood and stool of course, as much as you can get in
05:28here. Sent this away and in 48 hours I get this, which was my findings report
05:42right here, which was a ton of data for me to go through. And they looked at
05:48every single one of my organs and determined that my organs turned out to
05:53be, they said they have an average or a total age, average age of 85 years old.
05:59Now I'm 50 years old, so that's whatever the numbers are, whatever the math is
06:02there, it's significantly older than my actual birth age. And I mean that was a
06:10big shock for me, but it explained a lot of why have how sick I was. And Dr.
06:15Zhang, Dr. Jiang Wang, recommended immediately, he actually sent me a
06:21personal email, recommended Warp 10, which is, you would see that, like Star Trek
06:28the motion picture. And that's Warp 10 internal de-aging system. And this, I take,
06:35I've been taking two of these every morning. You can see, I don't know if you
06:39can see those, but right away this stuff started to work. My hair fell out, like,
06:44all of it fell out within a week. And my sickness, like, went from bad to worse.
06:51I offered to loan you a hat. You don't have to wear a wig, you can wear a hat.
06:54All my organs were, like, under attack. The toxins in my organs were fully under
07:00attack. So I know Warp 10 is doing the trick, and I want to thank everybody at
07:04Rio Genesis for...
07:06You know what's cool? This is the 16th season of the show, which reminds me of
07:1116 Candles. We should have got a cake with 16 Candles as sort of a tribute to
07:17what we're doing, but also a tribute to the great movie from John Hughes.
07:21Mm-hmm. Needless to say, I'm out of bed, fever's down, and the hair's gone, but we're,
07:28you know, we're growing back, and it is growing back, so we're excited about that.
07:32And let's talk...
07:34Let's talk movies.
07:36We've got, actually, two movies to review this week.
07:38All right, let's get into The Stranglers, chapter two. The Stranglers, directed by...
07:43Renny Harlan.
07:45Renny Harlan, starring Gabrielle Basso, Richard Brake, and Madeline Petsch. So on the final
07:53day of their cross-country road trip, a couple's vehicle breaks down, forcing them to take refuge
08:00in a remote Airbnb. As night falls, three masked Strangers... Oh, Strangers. Okay, so this is The
08:09Strangers, chapter two, right? Terrorize them until dawn. Stranglers. Strangers. What'd you think
08:17of Strangers, chapter two?
08:19Very cool movie. I love the original, but the...
08:22Strangers. Excuse me.
08:23The original was called Strangers, and this is also called Strangers. I love it. It's
08:30kind of an updating of the old Hitchcock classic, Psycho, where you have the hotel from hell.
08:36Right. But they've updated it because this is the Airbnb from hell. So I kind of like that twist
08:41to it. I'd love to see a lot more of the old Hitchcock movies come back in one form or another,
08:47maybe updated for some of the technology we have today. So I'm going to give it five bags of popcorn,
08:53and I'm going to throw in like a little knife like you had in the original Psycho movie, but not
08:58actually sharp. It's more of like a keepsake knife.
09:02I like this. And your rating?
09:04Five bags of popcorn and a keepsake knife.
09:07Okay. And just...
09:09Which I just said.
09:11Right.
09:13Okay. Well, this is another classic from Renny Harlan, one of the great directors right now,
09:20and has been for almost all time, as long as he's been directing. And a great performance from Gabriel
09:28Basso and everybody else. So this was an interesting movie.
09:33And we give it five bags of popcorn as well.
09:37All right.
09:38I hope there's a part three, a chapter three. I like that they're calling it a chapter rather
09:43than a part.
09:44Well, it feels like then at the end of the day, you're going to have a book,
09:47right? Like if you have seven or 10 of these movies...
09:50I think movies have chapters too. It doesn't have to be a book.
09:53Right. But chapters are generally smaller installments of a story.
09:59It doesn't have to be.
10:02All right. Let's go through Gabby's... This is now Gabby's Dollhouse, the movie,
10:07released, starring, excuse me, directed by Ryan Crago,
10:12starring Laila Lockhart Craner, Kristen Weig, and Carlin Tessara.
10:18Gabby and Grandma Gigi's road trip takes an unexpected turn when Gabby's prized dollhouse
10:26ends up with an eccentric cat lady, Vera. Gabby embarks on an adventure to reunite Gabby
10:33cats and of course retrieve her beloved dollhouse before it's too late. What'd you make of Gabby's
10:39Dollhouse, the movie?
10:40One thing I really like about this is if you have, you want to take some kids to a movie,
10:46you can't take them to strangers, the strangers chapter two, because that's got adult concepts
10:53and things. This is more of a movie for all ages. You could be three years old and a lot of,
10:58there were a lot of three and four year olds at the theater when I went to see this. So
11:01it's kind of a universal movie, not the studio universal, but more just something that anyone
11:07can enjoy. I also really appreciated that they've revived the trend of having the movie in the title,
11:15because you have so many things like Superman, that is a comic book, a TV show. You need to know
11:22what it is you're buying, what you're buying a ticket to. This is a movie. This isn't the TV show,
11:28this is a movie. And it's also interesting to have the movie at the end because in recent years they've
11:34started, even when they tell you it's a movie, like the Garfield movie, they put the name in between the
11:40words the and movie, the Garfield movie, the emoji movie. And this is giving you the title and then
11:47adding the movie at the end, which I think is a better way to do it. I love this movie, the movie,
11:54and I think it's a very interesting story and the characters are really beloved, instantly beloved.
11:59I'd love to see more of these movies, sequels, and I'm going to give it five bags of popcorn.
12:04All right. Well, I really wanted to see this one. I went down to the theater to see it and it was
12:10an 11 a.m. matinee and the usher came by and he said, what are you doing here? I said, I'm here to
12:18see this movie. And he got his manager. The manager came over and I said, listen, I'm here to... He's
12:25like, you don't have kids? I said, no, I don't. I do, but I don't. I did as well, as you know,
12:32and I do in a lot of ways, but they're not here. And he said, well, we can't have you here.
12:40Why is that? Well, they thought it was something suspicious about it, which there wasn't,
12:45and they asked me to leave and I didn't want to get into it. And I was exited from the theater.
12:51What theater was that? Because I'm going to... I don't want to dox this place, but it was a major brand.
12:58Anyways, this doesn't seem like it's for me anyways, but if you do have really small kids,
13:03it seems like it's the movie for you. No, I think this is good for anybody. And I think that that
13:07theater manager should be ashamed of himself and you should let me know what it is. And I will get
13:11my true blue film buffs on the case and we will have a word with this guy. I will talk about that
13:17with you. No one should be turned away from a movie. All right. Well, why don't we wrap things up here? I'll give it
13:22five bags of popcorn because according to you, it seems like a great movie. And I talked to Grok about
13:26it and Grok was saying that it was a pretty strong film, a good film from Ryan Crago. Talk to the
13:33experts first and it is a good film. It's a great film. I did. Like I said, I talked to Grok about it and
13:38he recommended that people see it. I think Grok saw the movie. All right. Well, that's all we have time for
13:44today and we're going to. We do have time for another update since we had to hear about your kidneys
13:51and things during the time that could have been popcorn classics. I have been doing some, a lot of the VFA
13:59supporters and fans and admirers, honestly, of the VFA and all that we do have been asking what is going
14:07on with the VFA lately because we were trying to get a new building and right now we're using this extended
14:12stay America as a temp, uh, as, as his high network. But I've actually been working on a project that is
14:19going to revolutionize film archiving and that is going to take the VFA into the 21st century. And it's
14:26going to expand our collection, uh, probably by 50 to a hundred percent, which is we have been, um,
14:34systematically buying up with some of the money left over from the settlement, uh, buying up DVDs. I know
14:41don't shoot the messenger though, uh, buying up some of these DVDs, which are getting really cheap. We bought
14:47a pallet from a shop that went out of business, must have been a thousand DVDs, uh, for $400. And what we're
14:56doing is systematically, uh, transferring the movies that came out between 2004, which was when the last VHS
15:05releases came out and the current day transferring them directly to VHS tape, designing covers and
15:12packages and basically creating the world's most up to date, uh, and complete archive. And it's been
15:18a great process. Okay. Well, interesting use of funds. Uh, and we should say just to wrap this up that we,
15:25uh, there, there was, we don't want to get into the weeds of the business here, but the, the high network
15:31and high properties and high incorporated now is back under my leadership. I think you're okay with
15:37me saying that, uh, we did a transfer of ownership. This is for some sort of boring reasons, but
15:44definitely protecting you from, uh, and protecting the company from any potential lawsuits that might
15:49be coming our way due to incidents that happened in the past. And the person who should be worried
15:54about lawsuits is the movie house owner. Why don't we not get into that? Cause I don't want you on
16:00record with anything like that about the lease. Okay. All right. Well, that's all the time we have,
16:05uh, today, but we will be back next week with more reviews and more news about movies
16:10here on, on cinema at the cinema. Thanks for watching. Take care.
16:17Yeah. Are you just, uh, throwing away the deep blue rays then? Are you giving them back to Goodwill?
16:23Oh, and what do you mean? I'm keeping them in a circle problem with the tapes for
16:28learning downloads. So we're keeping those as a separate archive, just as a backup.
16:32I can't have, I can't have that stuff piling up. I can't have it. For now it's piling up,
16:37but it is going to be moved to another building at some point. Okay. By the end of the week.
16:50I can't have it.
