00:00The 18th and 19th of October, we've got our open weekend down here at the Bondi Warehouse.
00:07It's our 40th open weekend, not back for two years because of Covid, so we're celebrating in style this year.
00:17We've got almost 50 boats coming, some craft boats, some working boats.
00:26So, you know, good display for people to have a look at this year.
00:31We've got craft stalls over the three floors of a warehouse and also along Canal Street.
00:39And we have a number of classic cars as well, plus a good selection of food vehicles as well.
00:46So lots for people to come and see and do.
00:49And it's free as well, so what more can you ask for?
00:53And I understand that it's also a commemoration of a very special event that took place here in Stourbridge.
01:00Well, yes. I mean, it's not just the 40 years of the open weekend, but also commemorating the activities of getting the canal network reopened as well.
01:11The Battle of Stourbridge back in the early 60s, 1962, I think it was off the top of my head.
01:19But before that, the canal was badly neglected.
01:23You could almost walk across it, but it was just down to sheer determination and hard work of volunteers.
01:31That is still going on today to keep the canal network alive along the established town and also keeping the historic bonded warehouse alive as well.
