Wolverhampton Mayor was in leather to launch the Mayors Fest which will take over the city rocking out and raising money for good causes at the same time. We chat to the Mayor and organiser about the event.

00:06marel robe you're rocking on there Linda. What's going on? We're getting ready for

00:10what? It's a bit rock and roll isn't it? Getting ready for our mare fest. Nice one. And Doddy, you're one of the

00:17organizers at the event? Yeah yeah. So talk us through, what can people expect

00:22there? What's going to be happening and when's it going to be happening? It's happening

00:25on the 4th, 5th and 6th of July. Gifford on the Friday, KK's on the Saturday, Gifford again on the Sunday.

00:31So it's a proper weekend isn't it? Oh yeah, it's free. So is this an annual event then? It is isn't it?

00:37Yeah, it's been going on about nine years now. Is it normally kind of rock, rock and roll? It's all rock yeah.

00:42Yeah yeah, cool. So what's some of the bands we've got getting involved Doddy?

00:45Chug a few names out. Headlining on the Saturday is Massive Wagons. Yeah. One of the

00:50biggest rock bands in the country now. Wicked. Friday we have, oh you haven't got a Friday on there?

00:56We've got Saturdays. Massive Wagons, the Virgin Mary's. Yeah yeah. Wicked. So do you like a bit of rock and

01:05roll then Mare? I do yeah. Yeah, can you play a guitar? We've just had you with a guitar haven't we?

01:10We were allowed to fake it. Can't play anything. Will you be down here on the night kind of?

01:16I'm coming down on the Saturday evening I think isn't it? Yeah, a bit of headbanging.

01:21I'd love to have a photography thing with a chain on. Yeah, oh so you come down with a chain and everything then?

01:26Yeah I do. And she's got to do a speech as well. Oh yeah, yeah, cool, cool.

01:30Nothing like putting me on the spot. I reckon you should make her sing it, get the guitar going.

01:35If it got sung it'd never let me sing again, trust me. No, it's fantastic what they do, every year they've done this.

01:42That'll be signed in auction that one. Oh is it? Wow, okay, it's a beautiful thing that.

01:46Yeah yeah, I like that. That's donated, we get one donated every year. And Madam Mare, you're raising some

01:51money for some good charities, go on, who are you raising money for? So it's AG UK Wolverhampton,

01:56Samaritans Wolverhampton and the Beacon Centre. Great stuff. And there's also Massive Wagons who

02:03do a lot for mental health, they've got an Andy Mann Club coming as well, I think that's part of Wolverhampton as well, they'll be here as well.
