00:00Dwight York has been unafraid to give young players a chance with the national team,
00:04even in the midst of a World Cup qualification campaign.
00:08And Wayne Frederick II is one of those to benefit as he won his first start against Jamaican foreign soil
00:14and did not disappoint as he held his own over 74 minutes as he reflected on that experience.
00:20The fight that the team had in that game, you know, it was so meaningful to everybody.
00:25And I think that's one of the biggest things that took away how much it means to people.
00:30I think going forward, it just gave me more confidence to know that I could play at that level
00:34with, you know, that type of crowd, that type of intensity.
00:39And, you know, just put on for my country and just to make my family proud.
00:43So I think just that general confidence is going to take me a long way.
00:47And just as I continue to build on it, my performances will only get better.
00:51Despite being young and inexperienced, Frederick has a mature outlook and approach to his craft.
00:56You just have to believe in yourself.
00:58If you don't believe in yourself, then there's no, like, nobody else is going to give you that confidence for you.
01:04You have to, that's the most important thing, you have to believe in yourself.
01:08No matter what's going on, if you're having a, if you're in a slump or if you're in good form,
01:13you just got to stay level and, you know, keep, keep having that confidence and belief.
01:17But, yeah, I would say just keep going.
01:19You never know when your break could come.
01:21Things can change very quickly.
01:22You could have five good games and your life is changing.
01:25So I would say, yeah, just keep going.
01:28Keep putting on the work and keep believing in yourself.
01:31However, the focus now for the Colorado Rapids player is on the two matches against Bermuda and Curaçao.
01:38It's crucial, I think.
01:39We just need to figure out what our game plan is.
01:42You know, get on the same page again.
01:44Because, you know, you only have a few days before the game.
01:47Don't get us to spend a lot of time together.
01:48So just learning each other.
01:51You know, we've had a couple camps now, so it's getting better.
01:53But I think this camp, these couple days is crucial, especially into these two big games,
01:57which are, we need to get some great results in these games.
02:00So I think, you know, just preparing right.
02:03If we go in, train hard, you know, take down what the coaches put in front of us, buy into it,
02:09then we'll do good.
02:10And it'll set us up great for these two upcoming games.
