00:00Three people in the Albanian capital Tirana were arrested after a man on trial shot dead
00:08a judge in a courtroom on Monday. The judge was presiding over a hearing about a property
00:13dispute in the Tirana Court of Appeal when the man shot him. The gunman also shot two other
00:20people involved in the hearing, a father and son, police said. They were taken to a hospital and
00:25their injuries were non-life-threatening. Local media said the 30-year-old suspect opened fire
00:31because he knew he would lose the case. The man's uncle was also arrested, as was a security guard
00:37at the court, according to police. They explained that the security guard did not physically search
00:43the defendant or his uncle even though they had set off the metal detector while entering the court.
00:49Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Monday that it was a tragic event and called for tougher
00:54sentencing for gun-related crimes.
