An Argentine court has ordered a new trial in the case concerning the death of Diego Armando Maradona, scheduled to begin on March 17. The previous trial was declared null and void after the presiding magistrate was removed for allegedly collaborating in the filming of an unauthorized documentary, provisionally titled "Divine Justice," which was being made secretly in parallel to the legal proceedings. The three judges involved were removed from the case. The original trial, which had recorded testimony from nearly 100 witnesses, was prosecuting healthcare professionals charged in the soccer legend's death. The magistrate, Makintach, has had his lawyer's license revoked and now faces trial for unethical conduct.
