00:00Last night the Prime Minister responded to the interventions from Tony Blair and yourself over
00:03the last few weeks saying in 2024 the UK was in a doom loop. Do you think the UK is
00:08still in that
00:08doom loop? Has the government done enough to get us out of it and are you the man to get
00:11us out of
00:11it? I think they've started to make real progress so if you look at the recent round of economic
00:17data it is getting more encouraging and that's great to see. If you look at the migration
00:24to statistics they're in a much better place than they were under Boris Johnson so there's
00:30certainly signs of real progress. I think what we haven't got yet though is a sense of political
00:39stability. You know the local elections showed us that. You know people are struggling out there
00:45people don't feel they're getting enough help with the cost of living crisis and I think until that
00:50issue is addressed. I don't think people will start to come back together again and people will
00:54then be in the country will be able to move move forward. So I think good progress has been made
01:00but you know I come back to my theme you know not enough. We do need to change Labour. That
01:07is the
01:07clear message that people gave to us at the local elections in May. It couldn't have been
01:12starker. That's what I'm doing and I will take that fight for a changed Labour Party to the highest
01:18level I can take it and give us in doing that the maximum possible influence I can give to this
01:25this wonderful constituency.
